Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7

At Julie's residence.

The doorbell rang, and Julie went to answer it.

"Who is it? I'm coming!" she called out as she approached the door.

She opened it and saw Elizabeth standing there. Julie kept a straight face and turned around, walking back inside, leaving the door open.

Elizabeth took a deep breath, stepped in, and shut the door behind her.

"Julie, don't tell me you're still mad at me because of that small thing," Elizabeth began.

"And why shouldn't I be mad at you? You left me with a complete stranger," Julie replied, visibly upset.

"I just gave you guys some space because the guy wanted to talk to you," Elizabeth defended.

"Really? Is that your defense?" Julie asked sharply.

Elizabeth shrugged. "Well, it's all I've got," she said absentmindedly.

"And who told you I was interested in whatever he had to say?" Julie continued, still annoyed.

"Babe! At least, you should've given him a chance. Aren't you tired of being single and boring?" Elizabeth teased. "Besides, the guy was cute. Did you see his smile?" she added with a wink.

Julie hissed. "You're not serious."

Elizabeth came closer with a mischievous grin. "What did he even tell you? Babe, what are you not telling me?"

"Abeg leave me! I'm still not talking to you," Julie said, walking toward the sofa.

"Okay, I'm sorry," Elizabeth pleaded, following her.

Julie stayed silent.

"I'm sorry na," Elizabeth repeated.

"Fine. I've heard you. But don't pull that kind of stunt on me again!" Julie said sternly.

"Joor! Give me gist abeg," Elizabeth said, throwing herself onto the couch. "I'm sure you were blushing and tripping for him after I left," she teased, winking again.

Julie chuckled. "You're not serious. Bad girl like you."

Elizabeth waved her hand dramatically. "Whichever! Abeg give me gist, if not, I'll continue disturbing you!"
