Chapter 1 - The Vessel and the Monarch

"Ahh.. Hunter..Jin.." – a teenage boy wearing a hoddie mumbled looking at Jinwoo his voice was nervous

Sung Jinwoo looks to his side to see the teenager standing there, his hoodie concealing his face, he couldn't help but smirk a little. He wasn't bothered by the stranger's presence.

"Yes?" He responded, his arms crossed, his gaze fixated on the teen.

"Sir..are you?..also!"–boy was very nervous.

Noticing the kid's nervous demeanor, Sung Jinwoo raised an eyebrow but didn't let his guard down. There was something about the boy that piqued his curiosity.

"Am I what? Go on." He replied, maintaining his stoic facade.

" A?..a.. player?"

"Player?"

That word caught Sung Jinwoo's attention. He tilted his head slightly, studying the kid a bit more intensely now.

"And why do you ask?"

He raised an eyebrow, his voice slightly curious but still guarded.

"..My system showed that you are one ,so I asked, it was a weird thing I'm seeing ever since I found myself in this weird world with gates and monster"

boy's tone was nervous his head barely looking above Jinwwo's shoes.

Sung Jinwoo's eyes slightly widened at the mention of a 'system' and the kid's statement implying he had one as well.

"You have a... system?"

He uncrossed his arms, his curious expression turning into a slightly interested one. He took a step towards the boy, trying to get a better look at him under the hood.

As Sung Jinwoo got a better look at the boy, he couldn't help but think that the kid was quite good-looking, despite being pale. But he didn't let his guard down, he needed more information.

"You said your... system showed you my status. Does that mean you can see my stats?"

*He asked curiously, his stoic gaze still studying the boy.*

"Shadow Monarch

level 102.."– he mumbled..

*Sung Jinwoo was taken aback by the boy's words. How could a mere kid know his stats? And he could even see his title.*

"You can see my level... And my title?"

*His curiosity was now even stronger. He stepped even closer to the boy, towering over him slightly due to his height.*

"Amm, I don't know sir, I.. I'm not from this world! "

*Sung Jinwoo's eyes widened at the kid's words. Not from this world? That was an unexpected and shocking claim.*

"You're not from this world? What do you mean?"

*He took another step closer, his gaze fixed on the boy's eyes, searching for any signs of deception. But there was something about the kid…he seemed genuine.

"Tell me! We're you also a vessel for a Monarch then how did you became a Monarch rather than being consumed by the Monarch"– boy shouted in desperation

I'm being planted by the seed of light Monarch " the boy mumbled

*Sung Jinwoo's expression turned from surprise to confusion, and then curiosity. The boy's words sounded insane, but there was something about them that held a hint of truth.*

"A vessel for a Monarch? Consumed?"

*His eyes narrowed as he absorbed the boy's words.

"Seed of light Monarch?"

He had never heard of anything like that before. This kid seemed to know far too much...or maybe he was just insane.*

"Explain?"

"You were chosen by the shadow Monarch and you were his vessel and your purpose was to become him once the seed bloom , but instead you remaind yourself!"

*Sung Jinwoo's grip tightened slightly. The air around him grew heavier, shadows curling at the edges of his feet like smoke.*

"...How do you know that?"

*His voice was low—dangerous, yet trembling with something deeper. Recognition. Memory. The pain of being hollowed out, consumed from within… and somehow clawing back.*

"No one knows that. Not even the Council."

*He stepped in close, his shadow stretching toward the boy like a living thing.*

"You said... *seed of Light Monarch?*"

*He studied the kid's pale face—the moonlit skin, the fear in his eyes not for himself… but for what might come.*

"...You're not a hunter."

*A pause.*

"You're a time bomb."

A tear dripped from the kid's eye–

" I don't want to be consumed by the light Monarch just please do you know how could this seed be removed?"– he mumbled

*Jinwoo looked at him listening.

"Shadow Monarch chose....*you as a desendend a..*heir! to his throne but *me!...I'm a mere *vessel! fated to be consumed by him by the light " – kid cried tears didn't stop.

*Sung Jinwoo's stern expression softened just the slightest bit at the sight of the kid's tears. The raw vulnerability—the fear and desperation in his voice—it struck a chord within him.*

"Calm down."

*He said it quietly, a command more than a suggestion. He reached out, his fingers brushing the boy's cheek—wiping away a tear with unexpected gentleness.*

"You… want to be free of this fate?"

*Boy nodded his head*

*Sung Jinwoo's sharp eyes observed the boy for a moment, before he let out a sigh. He knew the feeling of being bound to a destiny you never chose, but he'd be damned if he'd let this kid suffer the same fate. He'd help him.*

"Sit down."

*He said, gesturing towards a nearby rock. His tone was still commanding, but there was a hint of something else in it too—empathy, perhaps.*

*Sung Jinwoo sat next to the boy, keeping a respectful distance between them but still close enough to maintain eye contact.*

"Alright."

*He said, crossing his arms, his gaze fixed on the boy. He took a deep breath.*

"First things first. What's your name?"

Ran , I'm 17 and I was an orphan in own world before I found myself,

Ran gestured and a golden window appear in front of him and Jinwoo

Jinwoo *glared at the window with shock!

*Sung Jinwoo looked at the window that Ran had conjured, his eyes widening in surprise. It was like nothing he'd seen before—a floating golden screen displaying the kid's personal information. 'Knight'. 'Vessel of the Light Monarch'. He took in the words, a mix of curiosity and concern in his eyes.*

"A knight? And… you're the Vessel of the Light Monarch."

*He repeated, his voice low and measured.*

*Ran nodded his head.*

*Sung Jinwoo leaned back slightly, eyes narrowing as he studied Ran—not just the stats, but the trembling hands, the hollow look in his brown eyes. He'd seen that emptiness before. In mirrors.*

"You're not weak."

*The words came slow but firm.* "Level 9 with Speed 30? For someone who just got dumped into this world with no training—you've got raw talent. But…"

*He pointed at the title floating above Ran's name.*

"That **Vessel** thing—that's not a title. It's a death sentence."
