Chapter 5 - Chapter 7: Echoes in the Code

The apartment lights flickered.Luna froze mid-typing. "...That's not me."

Adrian looked up from his tablet. "What do you mean?"

Her fingers flew over the keyboard, windows flashing across the screen."Someone's inside my system," she said. "No one ever gets in here."

Code scrolled faster, symbols shifting — like digital whispers. Then, a message appeared across her monitor in bright red text:

"Hello, Little Ghost. You're not the only one hunting the Moores."

Luna's heart skipped. "Who the hell—"

Adrian stepped closer, scanning the screen. The text changed again:

"Tell Adrian Vance the past isn't buried. He knows where to look."

And just like that — gone.

The connection severed.

Luna exhaled sharply. "Someone just accessed our data through a mirrored node. That's… impossible."

Adrian's voice was quiet. "Not impossible. Just familiar."

He turned away, eyes distant. "There's only one person who used to code like that."

Luna frowned. "Who?"

Adrian's tone was grave. "My mother."
