Chapter 378 - Turned Into Gacha?! - 378

"You look rather embarrassing, Wolf King."

Alexander's figure materialized without warning before Voban, his expression blank yet holding a hint of 'I told you so' that only darkened Voban's already gloomy face.

"British brat, I don't recall granting you permission to visit." Voban's eyes flashed with killing intent, utterly unconcerned that he'd just made an enemy.

"I'm not here to fight you. You've got a vague sense of what's going on now too, don't you?"

Facing Voban's attitude, Alexander pressed on: "That monster is no ordinary Heretic God. Neither of us alone stands a chance against her."

"You think this old man would lose to some Heretic God?"

"Actually, she's already killed you once. If I hadn't used my Authority, you'd be a corpse right now."

Alexander was a God Slayer himself, a Devil King in his own right—naturally, he wasn't without pride.

With the Wolf King treating him like this, he wasn't about to play nice either.

The two glared at each other with mutual disgust, but both knew they had a more urgent enemy to deal with before coming to blows.

"Fine then, let's hear what you have to say."

With Alexander's interference, stubbornly insisting on handling the Heretic God alone was pointless.

After a moment's calculation, Voban chose the option most beneficial to himself.

"I've made thorough preparations inside the Great Labyrinth." Now that the other party was willing to listen, Alexander laid out his plan:

"All you need to do is use every means at your disposal to coordinate with my setup."

Voban's gaze was icy cold, but he offered no verbal retort.

Both understood that after dealing with this 'Lancelot,' the next order of business would be settling scores with each other.

"I'll handle the frontal confrontation with her." As Alexander spoke, three beautiful women with black-feathered wings appeared behind him.

Every strand of hair on these three women resembled 'venomous snakes,' even writhing and slithering back and forth.

"The Erinyes, huh." Voban's face remained impassive. "This Lancelot possesses both the qualities of Dragon-Serpent and Steel."

Hundreds of dark shadow wolves materialized behind him, and with a mere thought from Voban, these wolves merged in pairs, transforming into hundreds of werewolf monsters twenty feet tall.

If the previous shadow wolves could be handled easily by a Great Knight, now these werewolves—at the level of Divine Beasts—would require several Great Knights cooperating and fighting with all their might just to have a chance at defeating one.

Hundreds of such werewolves... even for a God Slayer, dealing with them would take considerable effort.

Then, the power of raging winds and crashing waves surged through the wolf pack. The sheer scale of it even made Alexander furrow his brow.

"Don't disappoint me, boy." Voban's voice was cold as he severed the connection between himself and these werewolves.

"Come to me, spell out the carved book with disinherited knowledge, for my desire is to incorporate the wonders of the occult."

With Voban's summoning, a girl of about twelve, with golden hair and blue eyes, appeared beside him.

She wore a purple dress and black coat, topped with a wide black hat.

Her expressionless, inorganic face made it difficult to regard her as human; a doll would have been a more fitting first impression.

'Singing Spellbook—the Authority Marquis Voban had usurped from Baphomet, the Heretic God of black magic worshipped by the Knights Templar.

Its power allows the user to transcribe all magic existing in the world into grimoires and use them at will.

After refining its usage, it no longer requires commands to flip pages, instead manifesting as a familiar in the form of a 'Grimoire Spirit' girl.

Without needing a word of communication, the girl familiar raised one hand, transferring ownership of all the werewolves to Alexander.

Not bothering with further conversation, Alexander shifted his gaze to the girl he had also pulled into the labyrinth.

Possessing the 'Eyes of Sodom,' Voban—even without Alexander's administrative privileges—could see through countless layers of obstacles, piercing to the distant figure of the silver-haired girl deep within the labyrinth.

The labyrinth had ninety-eight floors.

The two were naturally positioned on the first floor, while Melusine's figure appeared, unsurprisingly, on the lowest floor.

Confronted with this change in space, so different from the outside world, Melusine understood.

So that's why Voban hadn't been directly killed by her—the Black Prince had saved him...

However, this situation wouldn't happen twice.

Time reversal wasn't really such an omnipotent, unbeatable ability.

Although theoretically usable three times, the fact that using it a third time would leave one immobile essentially meant forfeiting one's life.

Clearing this labyrinth through normal means was naturally incredibly difficult. But could anyone trapped inside possibly walk out through the normal route?

Just as Melusine intended to simply fly straight up through the floors, a feeling of paralysis in her limbs momentarily stalled her movements.

At the same moment, a massive, pitch-black sphere materialized beneath her feet. A tremendous gravitational force immediately began pulling her body towards its interior.

But Voban's face turned cold.

Because even as he exerted his 'Eyes of Sodom' Authority to its fullest, the silver-haired girl's form was only momentarily hindered before she instantly transformed into a shooting star, darting towards the ninety-seventh floor.

So fast... but it didn't matter. The upper floors were meant for probing anyway.

Alexander paid this one-ninety-eighth progress no mind, immediately teleporting the Three Goddesses to the ninety-seventh floor, the position Melusine was about to break through.

Summoning the vengeful sisters to form the 'Revenge Field'—the Three Goddesses would return any attack or curse launched before them back to the attacker, following the God Slayer's instructions.

Not simple reflection, but an ability to return the damage received.

To return sufficient power, they needed to endure corresponding damage.

However, the upper limit of reflection the Goddesses could manage was considerably high, and their bodies were quite sturdy, deflecting most attacks.

Receiving damage exceeding the limit would dispel the Authority, but such a situation almost never occurred.

Alexander knew well that even if they could rebound the enemy's attacks, the situation would become equally problematic if the enemy simply ignored them.

A more important ability of the Erinyes was copying the opponent's skills and weapons for direct use.

If he could just copy this 'Lancelot's' Godspeed ability, containing her wouldn't be an issue.

Watching Melusine's figure emerge from the Three Goddesses' encirclement just as he had anticipated, Alexander was about to execute his plan when he saw the clearly observable meteor multiply its speed geometrically in the next instant, blasting right through his carefully prepared trap.

"Wha—!?"

Melusine had no intention of wasting time in a battle of wits with the enemy. Any layout or calculation of Alexander's was utterly insignificant to her.

With her stats, there was simply no need for strategic gamesmanship.

Watching Melusine break through the confines of his labyrinth with terrifying speed, watching all his painstakingly laid plans shattered by her absolute velocity, for the first time, Alexander felt a flicker of panic.

What in the world was this Heretic God?!
