Chapter 54 - Chapter 54 Bretelina

A trip to Bretelina for about three weeks instead of vacation. That was what the temporary principal, Dr Herbert Hambert von Herbertlein, wanted.

Diego: Juhu, a trip.

Kisa: Yeah!

Nacht: This is annoying.

Mona: Hahh.

Charlotte: Great…

Peter: Hehehe… I prepared everything.

Genila: Mhm.

Hans: Juhu.

Luie: Oh… I wish Luis were here, but he's in another class now… mmm…

Chloe: Juhu… finally something exciting.

Beatrice: I don't know… three weeks of vacation would have been better.

Johnson: Well, better than nothing, right?

Tina: Hehehe.

Dr Herbert: Come on, let's hurry then.

They were in a bus. Yes, buses exist, but these are used with wheels and brown metal. They are not pulled by horses. Instead they are powered by a wheel, and that wheel is moved by fairies. These fairies are called worker fairies or lillaren fairies. These fairies are used for work and they are happy about it. Unlike other fairy beings, they like humans and they also get sweets for their work. The driver of the bus is a dwarf, also called a Katchen. Dwarves can work well with humans. Recently, in Bretelina for example, dwarves are treated like humans and even have the same rights. Hunting fairies is forbidden, and servants or pleasure servants are also forbidden. But even though it sounds nice, there are problems. Bretelina has some cities that do not agree with these rules. Bretelina is a large kingdom and one of the few surviving kingdoms in the world of Grimm. The important leaders of Bretelina are not kings. There is no king in this kingdom. Instead it is ruled by several people, more precisely two leaders. One of them is Hertha, who is very loved in the kingdom and known for her kindness. The other leader is Mr Ludwig, a nobleman who is very popular among the poor. There is also another person who is not as important as those two but still important for the kingdom, Mr Hugo Fredrik Hugo. Bretelina is a trading kingdom, and because of its good relationships it is safe. Even if another kingdom attacked it, or the Vinka or the Sentinels did, the fairies, elves, and dwarves would stand against them.

Dr Herbert: Hmm.

Nacht: Hahh.

Diego: Snores.

Nacht: Zzzz.

Kisa: Hahh… zzzz.

Mona: Hmm?

Charlotte: Zzzz.

Mona: Oh dear… what a sleepy mood.

Diego: Snores.

Katchen: We are almost there!

He shouted.

Diego: Huh? What… no, I didn't wet my pants.

Mona: Sweats. Diego…

Nacht: Yawns.

Kisa: Yawns. Hahh… what happened? Are we there?

Charlotte: Huh?

Mona: No, it will still take a while.

Meanwhile

Click.

Liora: Hahhhh… here in Bretelina we can finally get what we need.

Sentinel: Hmm?

Liora: The silenced horn. This horn once belonged to a monster. That monster had a cruel ability. The horn made the children of the city follow it. It lured them out of the city and then ate them. The monster was called the Pied Piper. When he was still a human, he kidnapped many children because the townspeople refused to pay him for his job. Then he killed the children and brought their bodies back to their parents. But what he did not know was that he awakened the wrath of the Tooth Fairy. Fairies curse anyone who kills a child. So he was cursed by the fairy queen Celifin. He was turned into a monster. As a monster he did not stop. When Celifin learned about it, she sent the fairies to kill the monster. They succeeded, and the horn, which was once a flute, was sealed away. Right here… in Bretelina. The Horn of Gluttony.

Sentinel: And why are you sure it is here?

Liora: Because Celifin and the mages of Bretelina would never allow this thing to fall into the wrong hands. That is why they hid it somewhere in Bretelina. I don't know where exactly… just search… and I will search too.

Sentinel: Yes!

They left the building. Liora was still standing there with her back leaning against the wall.

Liora: Hahhhh…

She walked away.

Liora: This is probably my last chance… I will get that horn and defeat the Big Bad Wolf with it.

Meanwhile

Dr Herbert: Here we are.

Kisa: Wooowww.

Nacht: Ughh.

Diego: Okay… that's cool.

There was a city, and in the middle of it a giant tree. On that tree there were many houses. Bretelina is also called the city in the tree or the city on the tree. Actually only a small part of the city is on the tree, the rest is on the ground. There are many bridges and the sea is beautiful and blue, light blue.

Mona: Wooowww.

Charlotte: I have to say that is really an incredible city.

Dr Herbert: My dear students, in this city live many supernatural beings. Fairies and elves for example. The mages here are strong allies with the elves and fairies. Bretelina is also a huge city, ten million square kilometers. So stay together. If you get lost… well… that would be the end. By the way, we will sleep over there.

Diego: Huh?

Nacht: Ugh.

Charlotte: Huh?

Kisa: In the forest?

Dr Herbert: No, not in the forest exactly. It is a large building that is perfect for our school. Hehe. The building is called Bethovenstraum.

They walked deep into the forest.

Charlotte: Wouldn't it be better to sleep in the city? I mean, book a hotel there?

Dr Herbert: Too unsafe.

Nacht: You mean too expensive, right?

Dr Herbert: Sweats. Mister Nacht… it scares me how quickly you figured that out. Cough. The truth is our school was heavily damaged and that cost a lot of money. So we had no choice but to take this building. Nobody wants to live there because they say ghosts live there.

Charlotte: What… ghosts!

Mona: Ugh.

Nacht: Don't tell me you're scared.

Kisa: Huh?

Diego: Hehehe… scaredy cats.

Mona: What did you just say?

Death stare.

Mona: Huh?

Diego: Sorry madam!

Mona: Good.

They walked further.

Dr Herbert: Here it is.

Diego: Ugh?

Nacht: Is this a joke?

The building looked very old. Plants were already growing on the walls.

Charlotte: Great…

They went inside.

Diego: Oh… what does this door do?

He opened it. A skeleton fell out.

Diego: Aaaaaaaaaaargh!

Dr Herbert: Oh… that must be one of the owners who died brutally.

Diego: And you want us to sleep here?!

Dr Herbert: It's not that bad… hehehe.

Crash.

The window broke.

Nacht: The windows are breaking on their own.

Dr Herbert: It happens.

Woooo.

A ghostly sound.

Charlotte: Ugh… did you hear that?

Dr Herbert: That was the wind.

Grrrrrr.

Charlotte: And that!

Diego: Sorry, that was my stomach this time.

Charlotte: Hahh.

Dr Herbert: Alright, spread out and choose the room you want. Each room fits five people.

Kisa: Hey, let's just all stay together in one room.

Diego: Good idea. As scary as this place is, I prefer that we stay together.

Nacht: Hmm.

Charlotte: Fine… but isn't it annoying that we have to sleep with the boys? Nothing against Nacht, but Diego is the problem.

Diego: Hey, I'm not that perverted!

Nacht: That sentence sounds like something a murderer would say. That's a lie.

Diego: Okay fine… but I won't stare at you.

Kisa: I trust Diego… hehe.

Diego: Hmm… then… uh…

Charlotte: Yeah alright…

Mona: No problem. Let's go in. I'm really tired and hungry.

They entered one of the rooms. Suddenly bats flew out.

Nacht: Sweats. Bats too…

Charlotte: We're going to wake up without blood.

Diego: Don't people die if they lose too much blood?

Nacht: Yes.

Diego: Oh… so it's deadly.

Charlotte: Yes!

Mona: No shit Sherlock.

They walked further inside.

Diego: Hmm.

Wooo.

Diego: Did you hear that?

A ghost appeared.

Diego: Ghost!

Ghost: No please wait… I won't hurt you.

Diego: Huh?

Nacht: It talks?

Ghost: My name is Mana… I was murdered here when I was fifteen…

Diego: Oh… because of that axe in your head?

Ghost: Yes exactly… hehe… I just wanted to warn you that there are many ghosts in this building… and well… I don't want trouble, but the others do.

Charlotte: Cool… but I want food. What are we eating today?

The door opened.

Tina: Come eat, dinner is ready. We have rice with sauce and meatballs.

Diego: Yes!

Kisa: Hahh…

Nacht: Good, let's go.

Mona: And the ghost?

Ghost: I will stay here… hehe… enjoy your meal.
