Kaito Uchiha searched all over the Uchiha compound and finally found Shisui Uchiha in a secluded spot by the river.
As the strongest of the new generation of Uchiha, Shisui Uchiha not only lacked the arrogance and haughtiness typical of the Uchiha clan but was also kind and gentle.
When Kaito Uchiha found him, Shisui Uchiha was sitting by the river, quietly looking at the water.
"Shisui, you're here again. What are you doing?" Kaito Uchiha walked over and greeted him with a smile.
Hearing the voice, Shisui Uchiha shifted his gaze from the river. Seeing that it was Kaito Uchiha, he looked back at the river and replied, "I just got back from a mission. I'm just sitting here. What about you? Why are you here?"
"You're hiding here for some peace and quiet again. I'm different; I have something to do and came here to find you," Kaito Uchiha said directly, without beating around the bush.
Shisui Uchiha heard the serious tone in Kaito Uchiha's voice and looked at him again. His usually calm expression also turned serious.
"What is it? I've never seen you this serious before."
Thinking about the recent tension between the Uchiha clan and the village, Shisui Uchiha thought something else had happened, and his heart tightened.
Seeing Shisui Uchiha's expression, Kaito Uchiha, as his close friend who grew up with him, knew what he was worried about and reassured him, "Don't worry, nothing has happened in the clan recently. I have something personal to discuss with you."
Shisui Uchiha breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, "If you have something to say, just say it. Why so serious?"
Looking at Shisui's smiling face, Kaito Uchiha said nothing. He directly channeled his chakra and displayed his Three Tomoe Sharingan.
Seeing Kaito directly reveal his Sharingan, Shisui was a little confused, not knowing what he intended to do.
The three tomoe in Kaito Uchiha's Sharingan spun faster and faster, and the tails of the tomoe faintly outlined some patterns.
Shisui Uchiha was startled by this sight, as if his biggest secret had been exposed, and he exclaimed, "What's wrong with your Sharingan?"
Seeing Shisui Uchiha's reaction, Kaito Uchiha smiled contentedly, his eyes filled with the joy of a successful prank.
He didn't answer Shisui's question but slowly closed his Sharingan, his eyes still smiling as he looked at Shisui without speaking.
Shisui Uchiha saw Kaito staring at him without speaking, knowing what he meant, and said hoarsely, "You guessed it?"
Kaito Uchiha shook his head and said, "I didn't guess it; I saw it."
Shisui heard this and shook his head in disbelief, "Impossible. I only awakened my Mangekyo Sharingan recently and have never revealed it outside."
Kaito Uchiha paused, then pointed to his left eye: "The dōjutsu of this Mangekyo of mine is called 'Time Rift.' Its ability is to see glimpses of the future, not much, but I happened to see a fragment of yours."
"It sounds a bit absurd. At first, I also thought it was an illusion, but looking at your expression, it seems I wasn't wrong. Shisui, you truly are a genius of our Uchiha clan; you even awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan before me."
After Shisui Uchiha heard what Kaito said, he thought about the dōjutsu of his own Mangekyo Sharingan. If he could possess an absurd ability like Kotoamatsukami, then Kaito Uchiha's Mangekyo dōjutsu didn't seem so hard to accept.
In reality, Kaito Uchiha had no ability to see the future. He was merely using his knowledge of the plot to bluff Shisui Uchiha. His Mangekyo had only manifested early with the help of his immense spiritual power and the system. It merely looked intimidating but was essentially a blank Mangekyo with no actual abilities.
Although Shisui Uchiha was kind-hearted, he still possessed the basic qualities of a strong person. He composed himself, sensed something was amiss, looked at Kaito Uchiha, and asked, "Based on my understanding of you, you didn't just come to confirm my Mangekyo, did you?"
Kaito Uchiha decided to drop a bombshell on Shisui, looking into his eyes and saying, "I saw you die. The exact time isn't clear, but it should be not far from now."
Kaito Uchiha saw Shisui's pupils suddenly constrict, and his face twitched uncontrollably. He then continued, "A few years after you died, the Uchiha clan was also annihilated."
Upon hearing this, Shisui Uchiha could no longer sit still. He abruptly stood up and retorted, "Impossible! Our Uchiha clan is the largest clan in Konoha Village. We've been in Konoha since its founding, and Konoha is the strongest ninja village. How could we be annihilated just like that? Who would have the guts, and who would have the ability?"
Kaito Uchiha saw the agitated Shisui Uchiha but didn't try to calm him. Instead, he said with a meaningful tone, "People outside Konoha Village don't have the ability, but what if it's people inside Konoha Village?"
After hearing Kaito Uchiha's words, Shisui Uchiha seemed to have connected some dots. He fell silent, his lips trembled, and he asked in a hoarse voice, "What else did you see?"
Kaito Uchiha paused, organizing his words: "I didn't see much, actually. Besides some ordinary daily routines, there were very few useful bits left."
"Your Sharingan must be very precious. I saw you lying on the ground, your eyes gouged out. The Third Hokage and Danzo Shimura were standing next to you, and your eyes were in Danzo Shimura's hand. There were many Anbu members nearby."
Shisui Uchiha hadn't fully believed that he, having awakened the Mangekyo, would die so easily. However, when Kaito Uchiha mentioned that the Third Hokage was standing nearby at the time of his death, he connected it with his Mangekyo's ability, his trust in the Third Hokage, and the sinister and ruthless Danzo Shimura. Putting the pieces together, Shisui Uchiha pretty much understood what had happened.
"Given my trust in the Third Hokage, I would likely tell him about awakening the Mangekyo and its dōjutsu, Kotoamatsukami, after some time. Even if the Third Hokage couldn't bring himself to kill me and take my Sharingan, my Kotoamatsukami's power is too terrifying. If the Third Hokage were to tell Danzo, Danzo would most likely advocate for killing me and taking my eyes, and the Third Hokage might very well acquiesce."
"Only if it's not a frontal attack, but a sneak attack, given my trust in the Third Hokage, the success rate would be very high."
Thinking of this, Shisui Uchiha felt his heart slowly sinking, and the light in his eyes dimmed considerably.
He hadn't expected that even the Third Hokage couldn't tolerate his Kotoamatsukami.
Shisui Uchiha connected the cause and effect of his death, then asked Kaito Uchiha, "And what else?"
