Chapter 2 - My new Life (2)

Morning came with a dull ache behind Yujhae's eyes.

He barely slept — not after learning he was the heir of the Hwan Group, one of Korea's most powerful conglomerates.

The mansion buzzed with quiet energy. Staff hurried through the halls, and somewhere downstairs, his father's deep voice echoed commands through the phone.

Yujhae stood before the mirror again. Same golden hair. Same expensive pajamas.

But now, something sharper in his gaze.

Hint: The Family Business Hides Opportunity.

He exhaled. "Family business, huh? Yeah, because being the boss's spoiled kid totally counts as a 'job'..."

Still, the System wasn't going to let him rest until he completed this.

He headed downstairs, where his father was already seated at the breakfast table, reading the Seoul Finance Daily.

> "Morning," Yujhae greeted awkwardly.

> "Sit," his father said without looking up. "You'll be coming to headquarters today. You need to understand how the company operates."

That sounded like death by boredom, but Yujhae forced a smile.

"Sure, Dad. Totally ready for… business."

---

The black sedan glided through the city like a silent shark. Seoul outside was loud, alive — the streets filled with students, workers, and shady alleys where people like Daniel Park and Zack Lee might walk.

They arrived at Hwan Holdings Tower, glass and steel reflecting the sky.

Inside, Yujhae met executives bowing and smiling, though he could feel it — their fake warmth, the quiet judgment.

He sat through hours of meetings that meant nothing to him. Marketing reports. Profit margins.

Then, during a lunch break, he overheard two directors whispering in the hall.

> "The Gangnam Club branch still isn't making profit."

"CEO wants to shut it down. It's a money pit."

A club?

Yujhae's eyes lit up. That sounded more his speed.

---

Later that day, he slipped into his father's office.

"Uh, Dad," he began, trying to sound casual. "I heard something about a… club business we own?"

Mr. Hwan looked up, brow furrowed.

"The Gangnam Club branch? A failed investment. Why?"

Yujhae swallowed. "I want to try managing it."

Silence. Then his father laughed.

"You? You can't even handle your allowance properly."

> "Then let me prove it," Yujhae said. "You said I should learn how the company works. Let me start there. If I fail, fine — I'll do whatever you want after."

His father's gaze hardened. But after a long pause—

"…Fine. One month. I'll send an assistant with you. Don't embarrass this family."

"Holy crap," Yujhae whispered. "It actually worked."

The next evening, a black car dropped him off in front of the club.

Neon lights flickered over peeling posters. The bass from inside rattled the pavement. It was the kind of place where street thugs mixed with rich college kids — pure Lookism energy.

The manager on duty looked up, confused, as Yujhae stepped inside.

> "You're the new… what?"

> "Manager," Yujhae said, flashing the family seal his father had reluctantly given him.

Whispers rippled through the room.

The old manager stammered. "B-but, sir, this place—"

> "Not 'sir'," Yujhae cut him off with a grin. "Boss. I'm the new boss now."

He scanned the club — flickering lights, tired workers, bored security. This place was half-dead.

But inside, a strange excitement burned.

This was his.

Yujhae smirked, watching the club lights pulse like a heartbeat.

Maybe this was the start of something bigger.

And somewhere in the crowd, leaning against the wall, a tall man with sharp eyes watched him — a face Yujhae swore he'd seen before in the Lookism world.
