Nazareth stood atop a newly constructed tower erected outside Luminar's main gates. The tower, along with nineteen others, was built after information about the Khorne main army's advantage halted.
The stalling of movement gave the operation time to expand as more and more people were placed into construction and weaponry production. The originally semi-disorganised army and built corps were rigorously rebuilt within the extra three days.
What mildly confused Nazareth was why the daemon army halted in Yankai for so long; something deep within him churned as he felt the ground rumble beneath him.
Between the towers was a railroad of iron and wood collected from the pyramids' materials when Karl brought their destruction. The materials were to go to schools and churches, but were placed towards the war effort in preparation.
Beneath Nazareth, a train huffed and puffed as streams of white and black smoke bellowed from its main exhaust. Along in its carriages were eight armoured cars with four of the newly produced artillery pieces with them.
The armour of the casing was Phase Iron, with the rest being normal iron, yet this beast still weighed nearly five hundred tons. Soldiers, a mix of Krieg and native freed slaves, were trained in the operation as every twenty minutes the train would circle the city before entering through a new gatehouse placed on both sides of Luminar, allowing the train to enter the city from its north and exit its south.
During the construction of the train, many hours and lives were tirelessly thrown into the construction and melding of the train's chassis and rails.
The Krieg ingenious used the low setting of their lasguns to melt the metal and weld two pieces into one. It was an amazing idea Jurten had come up with, as the process had previously been stumped and thrown out as Nazareth built plans along with his war council for the coming battle.
When the freed slaves witnessed the departure of the locomotive, it brought a flurry of tears as church officials and administrators yelled about the gifts given from Nazareth and the power within the construction of the locomotive.
Overall, the creation of the train was a massive undertaking, with most of the weapon forgers being directed into forging its wheels and cogs whilst massive foundries poured cauldrons of iron to form the rigid and new railways.
Many factories had appeared within the city as the natural sulphur mines surrounding Luminar were mined and transported to create explosives. The surrounding villages were also forcibly conquered as their workforce and food were brought back into the city.
Muskets and artillery pieces were created over two days, with ammunition ranging in the tens of thousands being readily produced within the massive factories of Luminar.
What still gnawed at Nazareth was the Mechanicus. Firstly, ever since he requested assistance, it had been radio silence, as if another force was blocking the messaging of the two factions. Secondly, psykers had started to appear within the city as a servant standing previously within the throne room let out psychic screams, causing damage to the room and the servants serving Nazareth, before he had to cut the psyker's head off, halting the release of psychic energy.
This manifestation of psychiors and the impending battle hung over the population of Luminar as suicide rates skyrocketed, yet only those who fully believed in Nazareth seemed to see this battle as a holy one, and with their god, they deemed it to be an absolute win.
That fervour left chills down Nazareth's spine as the final carriage of the locomotive passed under the tower he currently stood atop.
The church's power, though, only grew as prayer and belief ran throughout the city, and those originally not fully supportive of Nazareth being their god quickly found themselves ratted upon as Erich took them to have a "conversation".
However, for what was to come, Nazareth found the perspective of his citizens to be rather weird as they toiled in the defence of their city. Nazareth knew that the power of religion would be frowned upon when his father arrived, and Nazareth's semi-reluctance to use religion made it evident—the ingrained teachings and learnings forced within his mind whilst in the test tubes of the Himalayas.
Nazareth looked out at the desert-turned battle lines, as holes large enough for Cain's dragon form to comfortably sleep within were dotted throughout the area surrounding it. These "holes" were obviously not natural but tests of artillery pieces and the new locomotive's power.
Through the endless holes within the ground ran lines upon lines of trenches, deep enough for a fully grown man to stand and still have to jump for his head to barely appear above the piles of sand.
These trenches ran outwards for at least a hundred metres, weaving in and out of each other as soldiers ran through drills as their officers and Krieg teachers screamed at their slowness, at their apparent affront to their god due to their slowness.
Nearly every man and woman capable who hadn't been given a job at the forges, factories or construction were conscripted as current from reports. Each man and woman had one musket, two ammunition pouches, one Phase Iron melee weapon and armour to varying degrees.
The manpower of Luminar was standing at a terrifying ten thousand, with more being trained, yet most were weak, and not "soldier" level, as Kriegmen and officers pushed their troops to train harder.
Nazareth, still looking over the trenches surrounding his city, entered his god's view of Luminar as the whole of the city came into view.
The city was once surrounded by high walls of thick and studded stone, boar, deadly and sharp pieces of iron and wood jutting from the ground. The design looked foreign to the city of stone, as from Nazareth's viewpoint, he could see the clouds of smoke from the locomotive making its way past the westernmost gatehouse.
He could also see the smoke from the forges as tons of water were poured to rapidly cool the weapons for his ever-growing army. What made him somewhat happy was the points gained from the rapid industrialisation.
Originally, he planned to equip at least a thousand with Phase Iron weapons, purchasing a limited two hundred tons, yet when the city underwent rapid expansion, he bought a further two thousand, along with more Kriegmen and crates of Adrathic weapons.
When the Newt arrived, Kriegmen were sorting through the crates, and something had been found as a gun unlike any other was given to Nazareth.
- Type – Kinetic Destroyer -
- Ammo – Souls -
- Capabilities – When a "being" or thing is shot or "hit" by the red near-invisible light emitted from the weapon, that thing will be wiped from that current place and forcibly placed within the chamber of the weapon to be shot (e.g., if hit, that being—for example a daemon—will be turned into its original form/a soul that is no different from any within the Warp without a chaotic taint). -
- Name – Psi-Ion Class III -
When the weapon was handed directly to Nazareth, the description of the weapon appeared shocking to him, as nothing like this had appeared with his sword or any other weapon, and from the description, it wasn't a weak weapon either.
(AN: Leave a comment, plz, on what should happen, say Tzeentch gets to be involved, or should I leave it with only three chaos gods and not four? Anyway, hope you enjoyed.)
