The Empress nodded.
"He is decisive, bold, and knows what he wants. More importantly, he doesn't hesitate once he makes a decision. In my eyes, he is far stronger than most young people of his age."
Alexander was silent for a moment.
Then he sighed.
"If things hadn't gone wrong back then, Zion might indeed have made a suitable Crown Consort."
There was a trace of regret in his voice.
But regret could not change the past.
The marriage contract between Zion and Vanessa had already been annulled by imperial decree. An emperor could not casually take back such a decision without damaging the authority of his own word.
The Empress's expression became more cautious.
"Today's betrothal gifts caused quite a stir. Princess Callista has practically stripped the General's Residence of its dignity in front of the entire city."
She paused.
"If Helius goes to court tomorrow and accuses Callista, what will you do?"
