Edward Blackwood's Private Study - Same Evening
Edward sat in his study, the room warm with firelight and the scent of aged whiskey. His body still felt weak from the ordeal of nearly dying, but his mind was sharp as ever perhaps sharper, now that the fog of illness had lifted.
On his desk lay a folder. Thin, frustratingly thin. The results of a week's worth of discrete inquiries into his grandson's wife.

Edward opened the folder again, even though he'd already memorized its contents.
