Chapter 5 - The winning trump card

When the purple light dispersed, a dark purple Knight Armor had already enveloped Lin Xin's body.

This set of Knight Armor was modeled after the Firefly IV Strategic Assault Armor, but its original silver-white hue had been replaced by a deep purplish-black—like the darkest shadow in the night sky.

Every contour of the armor radiated power and technological sophistication.

Pale violet energy patterns were etched across its surface, glowing faintly with a mysterious brilliance.

At that moment, Lin Xin's attribute data had undergone earth-shattering changes:

Name: Firefly (Lin Xin)

Race: Glamour Iron Cavalry

Attribute Template: NPC

Letter: 1

(After Ace Armor Buff) Personal Attributes:

Strength: 140 (5) Agility: 140 (5) Stamina: 140 (5) Spirit: 60 (5) Charm: 99 HP: 1400 MP: 600 Experience: 2248 / 10000 Normal Skills: None Personal Exclusive Skills: ... (omitted)

Lin Xin's heart was pounding with disbelief.

Is this the power of Knight Armor? It had instantly pushed her three core attributes into triple digits, and even her Spirit had surged to 60!

She was only Level 1. Ordinary players at that level typically had no more than 5 points in each of their four primary attributes. But now, with the Ace Knight Armor's buff, she had reached 140 points across the board.

Is this truly the power of a Sacred Grade skill?

She raised her arm, now encased in a sleek, dark purple gauntlet. The subtle bulge of miniature thrusters beneath the plating hinted at immense force.

From appearance alone, it was clear: this Knight Armor was built for close-quarters combat.

Every inch of it radiated strength. Her fists were reinforced with heavy gauntlets, seemingly capable of deflecting any attack. Her legs were armored in thick greaves, and the upturned tips of her boots were blade-shaped—perfect for auxiliary strikes.

Lin Xin slowly lifted her gaze toward Akesi, the Magician. His expression had shifted.

Her eyes, hidden beneath the visor, were cold and piercing—like twin blades slicing through deceit and evil.

But just as she prepared to strike, her peripheral vision caught something horrific: several naked, bloodied corpses of young girls lay beside the altar at the center of the sacrificial hall.

Their bodies were marred with bruises and deep wounds—evidence of unspeakable torture before death.

The Hellfire Cult often tormented their victims before sacrifice, believing it pleased their so-called evil god.

The sight ignited a blaze of fury within Lin Xin. Her fists clenched involuntarily, and the energy patterns on her armor flared with intensified light.

"Then, let's count your sins…"

A cold, mechanical voice echoed from the Knight Armor—like a verdict delivered from the depths of hell.

Akesi was momentarily stunned by her words, but quickly reverted to his usual arrogance.

To him, even in a weakened state, the idea of being defeated by a girl with a gun was laughable.

Even if she wore a flashy set of Knight Armor—something resembling tech from the Spirit Machine Empire—he assumed it was just for show. Most Knight Armors only offered minor boosts to defense and firepower.

"Do you think wearing something like that makes you my opponent?" Akesi sneered, his voice dripping with mockery.

But before he could finish, Lin Xin vanished.

She reappeared in front of him like a purple phantom.

Bang!

A heavy punch landed squarely on Akesi's face.

His body flew backward like a ragdoll, crashing through the wall and leaving a human-shaped crater.

–153!

With 140 points in Agility—28 times that of a normal person—her speed was overwhelming. Akesi, weakened and slow, couldn't react in time.

Lin Xin held her punching stance for a moment, then lowered her fist. A faint purple glow shimmered across her gauntlet.

Her movements were crisp, decisive—refined through countless battles. Each strike carried the weight of justice.

The scene stunned Akesi—and the Fox-eared Little Girl watching from behind the door.

She recognized the masked Windbreaker Man as Akesi, the Magician—one of the infamous Five Evildoers.

Seeing him here had plunged her into despair.

But now… she blinked at Lin Xin, clad in dark purple Knight Armor, her wide eyes reflecting a flicker of hope.

It was like witnessing the first light in a world of darkness.

"Damn bastard…!" Akesi roared, climbing out of the rubble. His face was swollen, his elegance shattered.

His eyes burned with rage. With a wave of his right hand, a cold, gleaming blade materialized. Though still swift, his movements were no longer composed.

"Do you think this can defeat me?!"

He hurled several cursed playing cards with his left hand.

The cards sliced through the air, their edges glowing with dark energy. Each one aimed for Lin Xin's vital points, carrying the weight of death.

Lin Xin didn't hesitate.

She dodged sideways, her movements fluid and ghostlike—like a violet shadow weaving through the narrow space.

But just as she evaded the cards, Akesi appeared beside her like a phantom.

His blade lashed out like a serpent, aiming for her neck.

Clang!

Lin Xin reacted instantly, raising her arm to block. Sparks flew as the cursed blade clashed against her armor.

Akesi wasn't done. He pulled back, and the blade began to pulse with curse energy—its surface darkening, preparing for a devastating strike.

His lips curled into a cruel smile.

No one survives this.

But Lin Xin remained calm.

She reached down, pulled the Ace Memory from the Lost Driver, inserted it into the card slot on her waist, and pressed the activation button.

"Joker! Maximum Drive!"

The electronic mechanical sound, accompanied by the purple light illuminating her right foot, echoed through the dim room.
