Chapter 103 - Mesagoza and Naranja Academy

The modified Robert 2 made the other Pokémon feel very curious. Pawmi circled around it incessantly, climbing up and down its body as if trying to study it thoroughly.

Metagross did not get angry at this at all; it even caught Pawmi in time whenever the little one almost fell off.

When Ange cooked, Robert 2 would help by holding Komala and playing with the two Oinkologne and Pawmi, making Ange feel as if it were a mother to the Pokémon.

Nearly half a month passed in the blink of an eye. On this day, Ange's Aura training mission finally came to an end, so he offered his resignation to the two professors during dinner.

"Professors, I have been in Paldea for quite some time now, so I plan to head back tomorrow," Ange said.

The two professors were very surprised to hear this.

"Leaving already? Why not stay a while longer?" Sada asked. She felt as though Ange had only just arrived a few days ago!

During the days Ange was present, their lives had been incredibly comfortable. Ange would change things up every day to cook delicious meals for them; in just a short time, every one of them had gained several pounds.

As expected, happy times were always brief.

"Yeah, stay a little longer. I feel like I can't live without you anymore," Turo added.

The other researchers also spoke up one after another, "That's right, Your Highness, please stay a little longer."

Ange shook his head. "It hasn't been easy for me to be out for this long. I still have a shop running at home, and fruit trees are being planted back at Nebel Plateau. Every matter requires someone there; I truly cannot stay any longer."

Hearing this, the professors and researchers finally stopped trying to make him stay.

"Ah~~ my heart aches at the thought of never eating the food made by Your Highness again!" a Paldean researcher said.

Another researcher belonging to the Azoth Royal Family said proudly, "Once I return to Kalos, I'll go to His Highness's shop every single day."

"Damn it, why don't I live in Kalos!" The Paldean researchers all showed expressions of envy.

At that moment, Sada said, "By the way, Ange, can I ask a favor of you?"

"Please go ahead, Professor," Ange replied.

"Could you please help us take Arven to Naranja Academy?" Sada asked.

The two professors were usually very busy with work and had no time to look after Arven; therefore, for most of the time, Arven was boarded at Naranja Academy.

Arven was able to stay in the Great Crater of Paldea for so long this time thanks to Ange taking care of him here. Now that Ange was leaving, it was time for him to return to Naranja Academy.

Naranja Academy was the alma mater of the two professors. they had many friends there who could help look after Arven.

Furthermore, Arven also attended school there.

Hearing his mother's words, Arven, who was eating, lowered his head dejectedly. Now, not only was Brother Ange leaving, but he also had to separate from his parents.

He had been so happy during this period that he had almost forgotten that this time had a limit.

"Sure, it just so happens that I need to go to Mesagoza to catch a flight anyway!" Ange promised the professor.

"Then we shall trouble you," Turo said gratefully.

Ange waved his hand. "It's a small matter."

Because he was so depressed, Arven did not say a single word until dinner ended.

The next morning, Ange woke up early, packed all his things, and made breakfast for the professors and researchers one last time.

As the professors and researchers ate breakfast, they sighed continuously, all of them reluctant to see Ange go.

However, the time for parting always arrives.

After breakfast, Ange had Diancie send the two Oinkologne, Komala, and Robert 2 home, leaving only Pawmi, Metagross, and Espathra by his side.

Komala had accompanied him for so long, and it was time for it to go home and rest. Its drinking buddy was surely looking forward to their reunion as well.

Coincidentally, Ange had bought a bottle of good wine for Komala not long ago, which it had been reluctant to drink.

Once everything was prepared, Ange took Arven and rode on Espathra toward the exit of the Great Crater of Paldea.

Romeo was not leaving this time. He would continue to stay behind to learn from the two professors. With so many people from the Azoth research team to look after him, Ange did not need to worry.

Passing through the entrance of the Great Crater of Paldea, Ange and Arven appeared in the outskirts of Medali.

Before leaving, Ange first took Arven to visit Nasir. After all, he had received quite a bit of care from him; it would be improper to leave without saying goodbye.

Leaving Nasir's house, Ange and Arven went straight to Mesagoza.

Mesagoza is the largest city in the Paldea region, located right in the center of the entire region, and is not too far from Medali.

Ange and Arven took the light rail train and reached their destination in less than two hours.

Coming out of the station, Ange and Arven appeared in a plaza. Looking around, high-rise buildings were everywhere, which was completely different from the Azoth Royal Capital.

Due to history and culture, most of the architectural styles in the Azoth Royal Capital were very retro, with few high-rise buildings.

Pawmi was born in the uninhabited Great Crater of Paldea. This was its first time seeing such a bustling metropolis. It nestled in Ange's hood, resting on his shoulder, looking at everything around it with wide, round eyes.

"Arven, shall we go straight to Naranja Academy?" Ange asked.

"Mhm~" Arven nodded, looking not very happy.

Seeing this, Ange asked, "Are you reluctant to leave your parents, or are you reluctant to leave me?"

Arven kept his head down and didn't speak. Mabosstiff, who understood his thoughts, nudged him with its head.

"If you're reluctant to leave your parents, you can go see them more often during vacations! If you're reluctant to leave me, we can contact each other by phone anytime," Ange said with a smile.

Ange shook his phone as he spoke.

"I welcome you to call me anytime to discuss culinary matters."

Hearing this, a smile finally appeared on Arven's face. He nodded and said, "Mhm, I understand. Thank you, Brother Ange!"

"Alright, then let's go," Ange said, patting him on the back.

The two then set off toward Naranja Academy with Pawmi and Mabosstiff.

Walking on the streets of Mesagoza, Pawmi's eyes were almost not enough to take everything in.

Seeing a car racing past beside it, it covered its mouth in surprise. Watching a child nearby licking a lollipop, it couldn't help but drool. Looking at the figures and Pokémon flashing on the electronic billboards, as well as the vibrant colors, excitement flashed in its eyes...

Actually, just like Pawmi, Ange hadn't seen much of the world either. Among the towns in the Pokémon world, he had only been to the Azoth Royal Capital, Medali, and the Mesagoza before him. Therefore, along the way, he was also full of curiosity and excitement.

Seeing Pawmi staring at a fast-food restaurant without blinking, Ange asked, "Want to eat?"

"Paw, paw~"

Pawmi's eyes lit up, and it nodded frantically.

Ange looked at Arven again and asked, "Does Arven want to eat?"

"I'd like to try it too," Arven replied after a moment of thought.

"Then let's go eat!" Ange said.

"Paw, paw~" Pawmi kicked its legs in excitement inside Ange's hood.

Subsequently, Ange took Arven, Pawmi, and Mabosstiff into the fast-food restaurant. He ordered a bunch of burgers, fries, egg tarts, chicken wings, milk tea, soda, and so on, filling a large table.

He also released Metagross.

Seeing this, Arven released Nacli as well.

The two humans and several Pokémon gathered around the table. Pawmi gave an excited cry, grabbed a chicken drumstick, and stuffed it into its mouth.

"Paw, paw~" So good, it's so good!

It spoke with its cheeks bulging, its speech unclear.

Next, Pawmi took a bite of a burger followed by a gulp of soda. That happy appearance even made Ange's mood improve just by watching it eat.

He picked up a fry and put it in his mouth. The long-lost taste made him sigh inwardly: Eating this once in a while isn't bad either.

While Ange ate, he didn't forget to feed Metagross.

"Like it?" he asked, looking at Pawmi.

"Paw, paw~" Like it, like it!

Pawmi said, holding a chicken drumstick with its greasy little paws.

"If you like it, I'll make it for you at home when I have time later."

It was just fried food; it wasn't hard to make.

Upon hearing this, Pawmi immediately wanted to pounce into Ange's arms to act spoiled. Ange quickly stopped it, "Stop! Are you trying to wipe all that oil on me?"

"Paw~~"

Pawmi spread its palms, looked at them, and smiled sillily.

Arven, Nacli, and Mabosstiff were also eating with oil all over their mouths.

"Does Arven like these too?" Ange asked.

Arven nodded. "I've never eaten this before."

Ange thought about it and realized it made sense; the two professors likely didn't have time to take Arven to eat this.

"Eat more if you like it. It's my treat today."

Anyway, they didn't eat it every day; an occasional indulgence was fine.

"Mhm~" Arven grinned.

There were many other customers in the shop eating with their Pokémon, but none had such a warm atmosphere as Ange's group.

By the time they came out of the fast-food restaurant, Pawmi, Arven, and Mabosstiff all had round, bulging bellies.

Burp~

Burp~

Arven and Pawmi let out a satisfying burp at the same time. The person and the Pokémon looked at each other and couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"Hahaha~~"

"Paw, paw, paw~~"

Ange was also amused by them. After rubbing Pawmi's head, he said, "Alright, it's time for us to go to Naranja Academy."

"Mhm~" Arven nodded.

Although Ange didn't know the way to Naranja Academy, Arven was very familiar with it. Soon, the two arrived at the main gate of Naranja Academy.

Naranja Academy is a very famous school in the Pokémon world with a long history. Students from all over the world come here to study.

As long as one has a heart for learning, Naranja Academy welcomes everyone, and there is no age limit for enrollment here.

Many students were coming and going at the academy gate. Some of them knew Arven and would greet him very friendly upon seeing him.

"Oh! Arven, you're back!"

"Arven, long time no see. Did you have a pleasant vacation?"

"Arven, come find me to play later. I brought back interesting things from home."

...

Arven responded to his classmates while walking toward the depths of the academy with Ange. They were going to see the Academy Chair, Geeta.

Ange's purpose for this trip was to hand Arven over to Geeta.

Geeta was not only the Chair of Naranja Academy but also the Chair of the Paldea Pokémon League, as well as a powerful Trainer with Champion-rank strength.

Walking into a corridor of a courtyard, Ange heard noise coming from nearby. Looking toward the sound, he saw people battling on the grass of the courtyard.

The two sides of the battle were a short-haired girl wearing the school uniform and a young woman wearing a tracksuit and half-finger gloves, speaking with a particularly strong voice.

"It's Senior Rainbow and Instructor Dendra!" Arven said.

The Pokémon commanded by the girl named Rainbow was a Floragato. Its movements were very agile, constantly using skills to interfere with Instructor Dendra's Tauros.

Instructor Dendra's Tauros was not an ordinary Tauros but a Paldean Form (Aqua Breed), with Fighting and Water typing.

Ange and Arven couldn't help but stop to watch.

The result of the battle came out quickly. Floragato was no match for Tauros and was knocked to the ground by Tauros's Double Kick.

The surrounding students applauded Instructor Dendra, and Ange and Arven were no exception.

At that moment, Pawmi, who had been dozing off, suddenly opened its eyes. Faint traces of electricity suddenly flashed across its body.

Pawmi slowly crawled out of Ange's hood, looked around in confusion, and electricity flashed across its body once again.

"Paw~~"

Pawmi leaped down from Ange and quickly ran forward.

"Pawmi? Where are you going?" Ange asked in confusion.

"Paw, paw~~"

After responding twice, Pawmi continued to run forward, releasing electricity while running as if sensing something.

"Pawmi! Wait!" Ange quickly chased after it with Arven.

Pawmi ran all the way to a corner, then turned and ran in another direction until it reached another patch of grass.

Running to the edge of a pit in the middle of the grass, Pawmi slowly stopped. It lay on the edge of the pit and poked its head in to look.

"Paw?"

Crackle, crackle~

Suddenly, a string of electricity shot out from the pit, followed by a small head poking out—it was also a Pawmi.

"Paw!"

"Paw!"

The Pawmi in the pit climbed out and stared at Ange's Pawmi. The two Pokémon gave an excited cry, then held hands and began to spin around happily.

"Paw, paw, paw~"

"Paw, paw~ paw, paw~"

Ange ran over and said helplessly, "Honestly, I told you not to run around."

At that moment, a girl ran out from somewhere and hugged both Pawmi.

"Wow~~ how did another Pawmi appear?"

It turned out that the Pawmi Ange's Pawmi had found was her Pokémon.

"Nemona!" Arven shouted to the girl.

"Arven!" The girl also showed a look of surprise. "You're back!"

Arven nodded. "Mhm!"

Nemona held up Ange's Pawmi and asked Arven, "Is this Pawmi a Pokémon you recently caught?"

Arven shook his head. "No, Pawmi is Brother Ange's Pokémon. The one I recently caught is Nacli."

Saying that, Arven took out a Poké Ball and released Nacli.

"Nacli~"

Nacli squinted its eyes and greeted Nemona.

Nemona squatted down, released the two Pawmi in her arms, and said to Nacli, "Nacli is also very cute!"

As soon as Ange's Pawmi was released from Nemona's embrace, it immediately climbed back into the hood along Ange's leg. Then, it poked its head out from the hood and peeked at Nemona secretly.
