Chapter 190: The End of an Era, Whitebeard's Curtain Call!
Whitebeard's bold declaration had not yet dissipated in the wind. The sky seemed to still echo with his words—
"The Whitebeard Pirates will never perish!"
"BANG—!!!"
Marco fell like a shooting star, blasted down by Roy's punch, smashing heavily deep into the scorched earth!
Blue flames shattered, wings disintegrated. The once-proud Phoenix lay motionless, chest heaving violently, no longer possessing the strength to fight!
"Marco?!!"
Whitebeard's eyes nearly split with rage. He struggled to move forward, but just as he lifted his foot, he saw—
Roy had teleported back into position, standing shoulder to shoulder with Sakazuki. Like twin gods of Ice and Fire, they looked down upon the teetering "Old King."
In that moment, Whitebeard felt it—the Heavens no longer belonged to him.
"Ace, Enel."
Roy's tone was calm as water, yet carried an undeniable authority.
"Bind Marco and Teach..."
"Understood."
Ace erupted with flames, leaping up. Leaving a long tail of fire behind him, he rushed toward the unconscious Marco.
Enel, wrapped in lightning, stepped mercilessly on the charred back of Teach, sneering.
"Run, why don't you? Try running again?"
Lightning arcs struck Teach's wounds, making sizzling sounds of burning flesh, but Teach didn't even have the strength to groan.
Whitebeard opened his mouth to speak, but—
"HELL HOUND!!!" (Meigo)
Sensing that the remnants of the Whitebeard crew had escaped, Sakazuki attacked in a rage. His magma-formed right arm erupted like a volcano, crashing toward Whitebeard!
"BOOM—!!!"
The giant magma fist punched directly through half of Whitebeard's head!
The intense heat instantly incinerated skin and flesh, and the smell of burnt meat filled the air!
"Cough... Gura..."
Whitebeard stumbled back. One eye had been burned away, blood flowed down his mustache, yet he was still laughing wildly!
"GURARARARA...!!!"
Using the last of his strength, he swung Murakumogiri, unleashing the full power of the Quake-Quake Fruit!
"I'LL SHATTER YOU, YOU PUP!!!"
"BANG!!!"
Sakazuki was blasted back several steps by the vibration, his battle cloak exploding into tatters!
Just as Whitebeard wanted to pursue—
"THUD—!!!"
Roy's iron fist arrived!
A Haki-infused fist condensed with the starlight of a galaxy punched through Whitebeard's abdomen. The fist pierced through his body, blood spraying like a waterfall!
Whitebeard knelt on one knee. His massive body was like a broken mountain peak. Murakumogiri stabbed into the scorched earth as he used it to support his broken body, his chest heaving violently!
"Is this... where it ends..."
"Cough... but at least..."
He threw his head back, looking toward the distant horizon—
As if seeing the Moby Dick breaking through the waves, struggling out of the storm circle!
"At least... the children... escaped..."
Sakazuki stepped forward, magma gathering again, raising his fist to end this life!
Roy, however, raised a hand to stop him, shaking his head.
Sakazuki huffed coldly, retracted his fist, and stepped back.
This Emperor of the Old Era was still breathing slowly, like an old lion fighting until the very last second.
Roy stared silently at Whitebeard's figure. He lifted a finger slightly.
"SWISH—!!!"
Space oscillated like ripples. The next second, Roy, Sakazuki, Ace, and Enel, along with the unconscious Teach and Marco, were transported high into the sky!
—Watching the judgment from the heavens!
Below, the final natural disaster arrived!
"RUMBLE-RUMBLE—!!!"
Two massive tsunamis roared and crashed in from the left and right!
Hundreds of meters high, falling from the sky like the palms of gods and demons!
The island, already torn apart, shattered completely under the impact of the tsunamis!
Broken land rolled, mountain ranges collapsed. The residual lightning and fire were all swallowed by the waves!
That massive figure still kneeling with his blade in the center of the island—
Along with the entire island, was swallowed by the endless ocean!
The waves gradually returned to calm, and the light of the sky reappeared.
The thunderclouds scattered, the sea of fire extinguished.
Whitebeard, the name that held up the entire Old Era, finally returned to the abyss of the sea.
High Above the Sky · Post-War Aftermath
Roy, Sakazuki, Enel, and Ace stood quietly in the sky where thunderclouds wove together.
Beneath their feet lay the sea area where the deserted island had collapsed and sunk.
The air still held the burnt smell of the aftermath and the residual heat of electric arcs.
The setting sun dipped west, casting a blood-red afterglow on the sea surface, like a final funeral for the Old Era.
The silhouette of the Moby Dick had long disappeared at the end of the horizon. Only smoke lingered; everything returned to silence.
Roy looked at the sea below, his eyes deep. After a long silence, he suddenly asked in a low voice:
"...Did we go too far?"
His voice wasn't loud, but it seemed to pierce through the entire sky, causing the surrounding winds to whip.
Sakazuki snorted coldly. Magma steam rose from his shoulders, his tone decisive as iron. "Don't be soft-hearted!"
"If Whitebeard didn't die, it wouldn't just be us who died! It would be thousands of oppressed civilians!"
"This is war, Roy."
Enel stood with his arms crossed, golden lightning rings rotating slowly, but he said nothing.
The corner of his mouth hooked up slightly, but he rarely put away his mockery, seemingly contemplating a higher dimension of events.
Ace kept his head down the whole time. His flames were extinguished, and blood still seeped from the wound on his shoulder.
His fists were clenched tight, but he said nothing.
No one spoke, but everyone understood—
This was a war that decided the direction of the world.
In the distance, a warship broke through the waves...
Warship · Deck
"SWISH—!!!"
Space trembled slightly. The four of them, along with the unconscious Teach and Marco, appeared on the deck of the warship.
Whoosh. The Marines who had been waiting saluted in unison, their voices thick with excitement:
"Admiral Sakazuki! Vice Admiral Roy! Results confirmed!"
They looked at Marco and Teach, bound in lightning and flame shackles, their eyes filled with awe and fanaticism.
Sakazuki glanced at the two wretched figures and asked in a deep voice, "How do you intend to deal with these two?"
Roy said faintly, "They are still useful to me. Leave them to me for now."
Sakazuki raised an eyebrow slightly, seeming to want to say something, but finally just nodded.
"Fine."
"I'll go contact Fleet Admiral Sengoku first."
He turned and walked toward the communication room, his voice low behind him. "Take that brat to get his injuries treated, then come over."
Roy watched him leave, then said to Enel, "Lock them in the bottom hold with Seastone cuffs. Guard them strictly."
"Especially that black fatty."
"Understood."
Enel grinned. Lightning wrapped around the two. "I'll take good 'care' of them~"
The iron door opened slowly.
Clang—
Lightning turned into chains. With a sinister smile, Enel kicked the unconscious Teach into a solitary cell.
Marco was thrown heavily into another cell, his face pale, consciousness fading.
The door slammed shut with a BANG. Darkness immediately swallowed the two crew members of the former Emperor.
Warship · Medical Room
"Hiss—"
Ace sat on the hospital bed as a medic carefully cleaned the charred wound on his shoulder.
The air was filled with the smell of antiseptic and blood.
Drip... drip...
Blood dripped onto the white bandages, spreading in circles.
Click.
The door was pushed open gently, and Roy walked in.
The medic immediately stood up to salute and quietly withdrew.
Only the two brothers remained in the room.
Silence spread like a tide between them.
After a long time, Ace whispered, "...Big Bro Roy."
He didn't add meaningless sentences like "Are you okay?"
His voice was hoarse and heavy. "Did we really... do the right thing?"
Roy walked to the window. The sea breeze blew his cloak gently, the brand of "Justice" glinting coldly in the setting sun.
He spoke slowly. "In this world, there is no absolute right or wrong."
"There are only choices that must be made."
He turned to look at Ace, his gaze like ice. "Whitebeard... had to die."
"His Old Era had to end."
"Only in this way—"
"Can we build a new order."
Ace lowered his head, clenching his fists until veins popped on the back of his hands.
Blood seeped from the unbandaged wound again, dripping onto the floor.
Gritting his teeth, he whispered, "The order of a New Era..."
Roy looked at him, silent for a long time.
