Bai Yuechen swallowed the blood in his mouth, staring at the fox-masked girl before him with disbelief.
"Thank you," he said hoarsely.
Lin Yunyi pulled him to his feet, her voice calm and detached.
"Don't thank me. I only saved you for fun."
Firefly, now back in her human form, walked over as Lin Yunyi dusted off her hands.
"For fun?" Bai Yuechen blinked, stunned. He had assumed she was trying to curry favor with him or the Bai Family. But she'd done it… just for amusement?
"That's right. The assassins are dealt with. I'm not interested in the rest. The Administrators will be here soon, so I'll be taking my leave."
She smiled faintly and turned to leave with Firefly.
Administrators—elite Ability Users trained to handle supernatural incidents—were the nation's answer to law enforcement in a world of awakened powers.
"Wait!" Bai Yuechen called out. "Can I at least know your names?"
Lin Yunyi paused, tapping her chin thoughtfully.
"Sparkle" she said, gesturing to herself. "And she's Stellaron Hunter 'Sam.' If fate allows, we'll meet again."
With that, she and Firefly headed toward the exit.
Before leaving, Lin Yunyi made a detour—straight to Huang Na and her two companions.
The three girls instinctively recoiled, fear etched across their faces. After all, they'd just witnessed Firefly obliterate two Shadow assassins with ease.
"Enjoy the gift I gave you," Lin Yunyi said softly.
"Gift…?" Huang Na blinked, confused.
Before they could ask, Firefly vanished into a glowing portal. Lin Yunyi followed, her figure dissolving into thin air.
"Just like that?"
"They disappeared! Did you see that?!"
"Wait—wasn't that masked girl only Bronze One-Star? And the mech girl was Bronze Three-Star!"
"Forget the Realm—how did they just vanish?!"
The banquet hall buzzed with stunned whispers. Huang Na's thoughts were interrupted by the girl with glasses.
"Xiao Na… do you know them?"
"I… I don't know her," Huang Na stammered, though her heart screamed otherwise.
The mask, the outfit, the voice—it was Lin Yunyi. The same girl she'd mocked at the academy gate.
"How… how could this be?"
Huang Na collapsed to the floor, trembling. The memory of Lin Yunyi's strength—and her own cruelty—sent a chill down her spine.

He muttered the names, utterly baffled.

Jiang Hao groaned, clutching the back of his skull. He vaguely remembered finishing a phone call with his father—then everything went black.
He checked his phone.

"Oh no!"
Panicked, he bolted from the restroom and rushed to the banquet hall.
But it was too late.
The hall was sealed off. Most students had left. Only a few remained, giving statements to the Administrators.
"Damn it! Who ruined my plan?!"
His father had spent a fortune arranging this mission—an opportunity to impress Bai Yuechen.
And now it was gone.
Just then, Huang Na and the other two girls ran up.
"Jiang Ge! You're finally back!" Huang Na cried, clinging to his arm.
"Huh?" Jiang Hao frowned.
"You promised us earlier—you can't go back on your word~"
"Where are we going next, Jiang Ge~"
The other two chimed in, crowding around him.
Already furious, Jiang Hao snapped.
"Get lost! Can't you see I'm in a bad mood?!"
The girls froze, stunned by his outburst.
"Jiang Ge… who upset you? Let me help you feel better," Huang Na said, forcing a smile. She grabbed his hand and pressed it to her chest.
The other two followed suit, trying to flatter him.
"You promised us Ability Potions, remember? We're all yours~"
"Ability Potions?"
Jiang Hao's rage boiled over. His veins bulged, eyes bloodshot.
He'd been ambushed. His mission had failed. And now these girls were shamelessly begging for rewards?
"You damn leeches! You think you deserve Ability Potions?! Look at yourselves!"
He lashed out, striking them in a blind fury.
The girls screamed and begged, but Jiang Hao kept hitting them.
