Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO: BAD IDEA

"OH MY GOD, YOU'RE....."

"Oh my God," she whispered. "You're Min Yoongi."

She froze. Then she started repeating it. "Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God."

Yoongi looked at her and shook his head. "When are you going to stop saying 'oh my God'?"

"You're sitting right next to me, and you want me to stop? How is that possible?" she said. "I feel like I'm dreaming. Am I really dreaming?"

She pinched herself again.

"You're not dreaming," he said. "I'm really here beside you." He held out his hand. "Hi, I'm..."

"I know who you are!" she said, grabbing his hand with both of hers. "You're Min Yoongi. Suga of BTS. Oh my God." She let go and covered her mouth, then slowly lowered her hand. "Sorry. I'm Han Seo-yeon. It's really nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too, Seo-yeon," he said, smiling. Then he glanced at her glass. "Why are you drinking so much? You should stop if you don't want a terrible hangover tomorrow morning."

She went quiet. Her smile disappeared and she looked down. Yoongi realized he had touched a sore spot.

He waved at the bartender. "Can I get a glass of water, please?"

The bartender set it down in front of Seo-yeon. Yoongi slid it closer to her.

"Drink this first," he said.

"I'm not that drunk," she said.

"You walked into me."

She laughed and took a sip. "Okay, maybe a little."

For a minute she said nothing. Then she started to talk.

"It's not really my choice to drink. I just wanted to forget my sorrow." She took a breath. "Today I was at work, and my boss told me to stay overtime. I texted my boyfriend about it. A few minutes later, I got a strange message saying my boyfriend was cheating on me."

"At first I thought it was impossible. I know him. He's a nice man, he's caring. He could never cheat on me. So I replied, 'Who are you?' And the person said, 'He's cheating on you with your best friend.' I thought it was a prank. I wrote back, 'Do you expect me to believe that?' Then the next message said, 'They're at your apartment right now.'"

"I couldn't keep it in. I was curious, you know? Curiosity kills the cat, but I wanted to know what would happen. So I told my co-worker to tell my boss I had an emergency at home, and I went home."

She stopped and shook her head.

"I still can't believe what I saw. They were there. My boyfriend and my best friend. They were like family to me. I even had problems with my parents because of them. I feel so stupid. I never thought they would do that to me."

She smiled sadly. "When I woke up this morning, I never imagined this would happen."

"I'm so sorry," Yoongi said quietly. "I didn't know something like that happened to you."

"It's okay," she said. She wiped her face and let out a small laugh. Yoongi laughed with her, and soon they were both laughing.

"Oh my God, I feel so happy right now," she said. "If I'd known that being cheated on would lead me to a bar and then to you, I wouldn't mind. At least something good came out of it."

She told him she was an ARMY, that she had followed the group since 2013, from the very beginning. He was her bias, and she couldn't believe she was really meeting him.

"I even wrote you a letter once," she said. "About a really hard day in my life. I never knew if you read it."

"What did you write in it?" Yoongi asked.

"Everything," she said. "I told you my parents didn't like that I was such a big fan. I told you that your songs helped me on my worst days. I wrote three pages. It was so embarrassing."

"It's not embarrassing," he said. "I wish I could remember it."

"So you don't know if you read it?"

"I'm not sure," Yoongi said. "Back then I read almost all of the letters. But I can't say for sure if I read yours."

"That's okay."

They kept talking. He told her about their daily rehearsals and how strict J-Hope was about every little detail. He told her about Jungkook, the youngest, who was the funniest of all of them and kept everyone laughing. He told her about Taehyung, who mispronounced words and never learned. He told her how RM broke everything he touched. Jimin, he said, was just Jimin and didn't change for anyone. And Jin was the most immature of the group, still acting like a kid. He told her he was sleepy most of the time and behaved like a cat. Seo-yeon laughed at every story.

"What about you?" she asked. "What are you doing in a club alone? Shouldn't you be resting somewhere?"

"I wanted to be by myself for one night," he said. "No managers, no schedule. Just a hoodie and a cap." He smiled. "And then a girl crashed into me."

"I said sorry!"

"You said it about twenty times."

The music got louder, and the bar started to fill up. Seo-yeon leaned a little closer so she could hear him better. For the first time that night, she wasn't thinking about Daehyun or Yerin.

Then, out of nowhere, she said, "Can you spend the night with me?"

Yoongi was shocked. He hadn't expected it.

"I can't do that," he said at first. "You're drunk. You're asking this because you're not in a stable state. You'll regret it tomorrow."

"I won't," she said.

"Seo-yeon..."

"I won't regret it," she said again. "I'm happy that I never gave my first time to my scumbag boyfriend. I want to give it to my bias. I'd be happy about it. I just don't want to be alone tonight. I feel like the whole world is against me, so I want my bias to keep me company."

"If it's company you want, I can stay with you all night," Yoongi said. "We can just talk."

"No," she said. "I don't want that. I want to spend the night with you."

Yoongi stopped for a moment. He stared into the distance.
