Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Finally Revealed — Acting Beyond Perfection!

Eight years old!!!

The boy in front of him — the one who had completely captivated his granddaughter — was only eight years old?!

Dugu Bo's brows furrowed deeply.

He couldn't believe the results of his own bone age test. So, to be sure, he extended his hand again, probing Li Chang'an's neck, spine, thigh, and ankle bones carefully.

Every result pointed to the same conclusion.

— Eight years old.

The youth before him, who looked tall and well-built, easily passing for twenty, was actually just an eight-year-old child who had awakened his martial spirit only two years ago?!

Dugu Bo was completely dumbfounded.

He stared at the boy, eyes wide, as if looking at something unreal. His face was full of disbelief.

This can't be real…

Eight years old — a Soul Master at the Soul Elder (Soul Sovereign) level?!

If he hadn't triple-checked that Li Chang'an was indeed human, Dugu Bo would've suspected the boy was actually a soul beast in human form cultivating anew.

Is such cultivation speed even humanly possible?

An eight-year-old Soul Sovereign! Eight years old!

Dugu Bo felt like his mind was about to collapse.

Compared to this kid, his decades of effort suddenly felt like a complete waste — as if he'd lived his entire life for nothing.

But then, a realization struck him: If this boy can reach Soul Sovereign at eight… then maybe—just maybe—reaching Titled Douluo before thirty isn't impossible at all!

Eight years old!

Such a prodigy appears perhaps once in ten thousand years — miss him now, and you'll never find another like him!

The old man's wrinkled face slowly transformed into an expression of delight. The previous hostility melted away, replaced by the kind, approving gaze one would give a beloved grandson.

"Good! Good boy!"

He patted Li Chang'an's shoulder gently, smiling kindly."Since you've proven your talent, I'll no longer oppose you and Yan'er. From now on, if there's anything you don't understand in your cultivation, come to me. I'll guide you, help you avoid detours, and reach Titled Douluo as soon as possible."

"Thank you, Senior."

Li Chang'an bowed gratefully, though inwardly he was ecstatic — he had finally won Dugu Bo's approval!

He hadn't even needed to reveal his martial spirit's poison-absorbing ability to change the old man's mind.

"Hmm? What did you just call me?" Dugu Bo's eyes narrowed, tone hinting at meaning.

"…Grandfather."

Li Chang'an reacted instantly, switching terms without hesitation.

"Mm."

Satisfied, Dugu Bo nodded, clearly pleased with his quick wit.

Meanwhile, Dugu Yan stood frozen, utterly stunned.

Her mind was spinning. Just moments ago, her grandfather had been adamantly opposed to their relationship, but now — after feeling Li Chang'an's bones — his entire attitude had flipped! He even told the boy to call him "grandfather"!

Am I dreaming?

Before she could make sense of it, Li Chang'an grabbed her hand with a bright smile."Yan'er, this is wonderful! Grandfather has agreed to let us be together!"

"But… why did Grandpa suddenly change his mind?" Dugu Yan was both happy and puzzled. The shift was too strange. Was this some kind of trick to calm her down?

"Uh… well, it's a little secret of mine," Li Chang'an said quickly, scratching his cheek awkwardly. "I'll tell you later. For now, promise me you won't ask, okay?"

He absolutely couldn't reveal that he was only eight years old — not yet.

After all, even though people in the Douluo world matured early and often married young, eight was still far too young — and with a seven-year age gap, he risked her seeing him as an immature child rather than a potential husband.

He had just earned Dugu Bo's trust, secured a Titled Douluo-level backer, and gotten access to the heavenly treasure he'd dreamed of. If everything fell apart just because of his age… he'd die of frustration!

"Alright, I won't ask," Dugu Yan said softly. She could see his unease and didn't press further — though her curiosity only grew stronger.

A strange lake stretched out before them.

It was unlike any ordinary body of water. The lake shimmered with two distinct colors — one milky white, the other deep crimson.

Even more astonishing, though the colors met within the same pool, they never mixed. Each side remained perfectly pure, the boundary between them impossibly sharp.

"What an incredible sight," Li Chang'an breathed, eyes wide in awe. "The craftsmanship of nature truly defies imagination!"

"It's magnificent, isn't it?" Dugu Yan said with a proud smile. "When I first saw it as a child, I was just as shocked. What's more, the plants around here grow much faster than normal. Grandpa's planted many herbs nearby."

She had brought Li Chang'an here herself — after all, this was her home. How could she not show her "boyfriend" around properly?

Li Chang'an hadn't even needed to come up with an excuse — Dugu Yan had personally led him to the exact place he wanted to see: the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.

He couldn't help but think, Well, that saves me a lot of trouble.

"Plants grow faster here?"

Li Chang'an frowned thoughtfully. "Why does that sound so familiar…? I feel like I've read about something like this before…"

"What's wrong, Brother Chang'an?" Dugu Yan asked curiously.

"I think I saw a similar description once, in an ancient text," he said, raising a hand. "Don't interrupt me — let me think…"

She obediently fell silent, standing beside him quietly as he pondered.

Minutes passed.

Finally, Li Chang'an's eyes widened, his expression shifting to one of astonished realization.

"Brother Chang'an, what did you remember?" Dugu Yan asked eagerly.

"Treasure Basin!"

"This place… this is one of the legendary Treasure Basins!"

"Treasure Basin?" Dugu Yan repeated, puzzled. "What's that?"

Li Chang'an took a deep breath and began explaining excitedly:

"I read about it in an ancient book that recorded rare herbs. It mentioned not only many celestial-grade plants but also three unique environments known as the Three Great Treasure Basins.

"These so-called basins don't hold gold or jewels — they're treasures for herbs. Each is a naturally formed sanctuary where ordinary plants can't survive, but rare and mystical ones thrive.

"Their conditions drastically accelerate growth — by ten times or more. For example, a Ganoderma that takes ten years to mature elsewhere would gain the potency of a hundred-year herb here.

"These three basins are formed in places where the world's most concentrated spiritual energy gathers — the essence of heaven and earth itself.

"And from what I see here… this must be the one known as the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye!

"Two forces born from one source — fire and ice, opposing yet balanced. Such a place may not appear even once in a million years!"

Li Chang'an's voice trembled with excitement.

"The Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye… what a fitting name," Dugu Yan said, blinking her beautiful eyes as she glanced at the lake. Though she didn't fully grasp its significance, she nodded in agreement.

She had no idea that the place before her was one of the rarest treasures on the entire continent.
