Good thing Raleigh had spare clothes in his pack, or Natsuki would've been mortified.

Braving wind and snow, the two walked toward the "Wall of Life," boots crunching through accumulated snow with rhythmic squeaks.

"First time I saw you, you seemed familiar. Have we met?" Natsuki asked, glancing at weathered Raleigh.

The moment he'd opened his eyes in this universe and seen Raleigh, he'd felt strange déjà vu.

"No."

"I've fought alien monsters, but never met an alien." Raleigh thought for seconds before giving definitive answer.

Even though Natsuki claimed his current form was mimicry, Raleigh had never seen this face.

"Huh… must've been past life, then." Natsuki couldn't place it, so he guessed maybe he'd seen the guy in reality or movie in previous life.

If he hadn't spent 19,000 years as Ultra, he might've remembered the man beside him was protagonist of classic film Pacific Rim—Raleigh Becket.

And this was Pacific Rim world—ravaged by kaiju disasters.

"Wait, monsters?" Natsuki caught key word. Raised eyebrow. "There are monsters on Earth in this universe too?"

Raleigh paused, nodded. "You seriously don't know there are monsters on this planet?"

"Now I'm starting to believe you really are from outer space."

He walked on, noticing Natsuki's curious expression—waiting for details.

Raleigh sighed, explained patiently: "In 2013, first kaiju—codename Trespasser—emerged from Pacific Ocean, made landfall on U.S. West Coast in San Francisco. Humanity didn't have time to react. Casualties were catastrophic. In the end, we nuked it just to bring it down."

"Kaiju was destroyed, but we paid brutal price."

"And that was just the beginning."

"From 2013 to now—2025—dozens of kaiju invasions have hit countries worldwide. This planet… torn to shreds because of them."

He gestured toward massive, unfinished wall ahead. "That wall is called 'Wall of Life.' Its purpose? Stop kaiju from charging up from ocean onto land."

"The place we're living in now? Not called Earth anymore. It's called apocalypse."

Just as Raleigh said, this world was under siege by extraterrestrial kaiju. No one had come to help. No Ultraman. Humanity was fighting monsters with nothing but own strength.

And outcome was obvious. As time went on, kaiju grew stronger. Humanity's living space shrank. People of this planet were marching toward extinction.

That "Wall of Life"? In Raleigh's eyes, joke. He didn't believe for second it could stop kaiju.

Honestly, because of certain things in past, Raleigh was deeply averse—even hostile—toward aliens. But for some reason, gut told him Natsuki was someone he could trust.

Trait of Ultra race.

"Sounds like bit of mess…" After hearing all that, Natsuki's brow furrowed slightly. Rubbed chin.

Hadn't expected to run into kaiju even in universe this remote.

"What's power level of kaiju here?" he asked.

"If situation allows, I could consider lending you guys hand."

Protecting planet's native inhabitants from invasion by other civilizations—that was core duty of Space Garrison.

Sure, work ethic was lousy, but deep down, still had sliver of justice.

"You?"

Raleigh actually laughed. Looked Natsuki up and down—tall and lean, sure, but hardly built like fighter.

"Come on. You have no idea how terrifying kaiju really are."

"With those skinny arms and legs? You wouldn't even be enough to get stuck in kaiju's teeth."

He pointed again at unfinished Wall of Life.

"When that wall's done, it'll be hundred meters tall. You get that? That's how high wall needs to be just to slow down kaiju."

"Every single kaiju is over sixty meters tall. Some Category III kaiju can reach ninety meters. They're way bigger than you think. When you see one with own eyes, you'll understand just how terrifying they are. You'll piss yourself."

Perhaps realizing tone had gotten harsh, Raleigh took deep breath, softened voice. "Look… just don't even think about going near kaiju."

"Or you'll definitely lose your life."

"I don't know if you're lunatic or really alien, but either way, stay far away from kaiju."

Hearing that, Natsuki began to suspect kaiju here might actually be genuinely powerful.

With current strength, Natsuki could handle ordinary kaiju—like Twin-Tail or Gudon. If he factored in combat experience, could probably go toe-to-toe with something like Gomora.

In Natsuki's understanding, when it came to kaiju, bigger meant stronger.

Weaker Gomora might only be forty meters tall. Stronger one could reach around sixty meters.

Weak Gomora? Natsuki could handle that.

Enhanced Gomora? He'd get his ass kicked.

Massive kaiju standing over ninety meters tall? Natsuki instinctively assumed it had to be even stronger than enhanced Gomora.

"That's seriously scary. Didn't expect universe this remote to be hiding such terrifying kaiju." Natsuki muttered with wary expression, exhaling puff of white breath that danced in cold air.

"Better late than never to find out."

"Come work with me. That's only way to get food."

"In weather this cold, even if you can handle freeze, you won't last long without food source." Raleigh wasn't surprised by Natsuki's reaction. Extended invitation naturally.

Everyone living in this world knew how terrifying kaiju were. Stuff of nightmares.

But…

Information gap between them remained.

Raleigh had never seen what real Ultraman could do in action.

And Natsuki had no idea that ninety-meter-tall kaiju Raleigh mentioned weighed mere 2,700 tons.

To put that in perspective:

Ordinary Gomora stood forty meters tall, weighed 20,000 tons.

Take Natsuki himself, for example.

When transformed, he stood 52 meters tall, weighed 42,000 tons.

People of this universe had no concept of what kind of existence Ultraman truly was if one appeared in reality.

Kaiju of Pacific Rim world? Their weight was fraction of Ultraman's. Body density of two wasn't even in same league.

When Natsuki's fist connected with kaiju's head, he'd probably understand what it meant for something to shatter on contact.
