"So, Gipsy Danger is deployed?"
"Good."
Inside the cockpit of Shaolin Rogue, Natsuki smiled as he heard the update on the comms.
It seemed his words to Marshal Pentecost had not been wasted.
Shaolin Rogue had just sent Leatherback flying with a single punch. Now, it gripped Otachi's tail, preparing for a massive spin.
Beneath the curtain of rain, the spray-filled battlefield was a violent spectacle. The dance between Jaeger and Kaiju ignited the fighting spirit in the pilots.
"My God, compared to those two, I think he is the Kaiju." Inside the heavily damaged Cherno Alpha, Sasha watched the massive Jaeger hurl Otachi by the tail, her eyes wide with shock.
"That exceeds a Jaeger's limits," Aleksis agreed.
They had never witnessed a battle between a Jaeger and a Kaiju look like this!
Seawater surged as Otachi swung through the air, a massive wrecking ball cutting through the dark rain. Released, she hurtled toward Leatherback like a cannonball!
"ROOOAR!"
Leatherback, who was about to unleash his EMP attack, had no time to react. The flying Kaiju struck him dead-on. The two beasts collided, raising even higher waves and a bellowing roar of pain.
"That was perfect, Mr. Natsuki!"
"We're coming to assist you!" Wei Hu Tang shouted excitedly, inspired by Shaolin Rogue's performance. He and his brothers adjusted Crimson Typhoon's status and waded through the water to support.
Seeing both Kaiju struggling to rise, they figured a 2v2 would end the fight faster.
"Good. Stall them for a few seconds."
"My next strike will end this battle directly," Natsuki's voice sounded over the comms.
The three brothers were puzzled. They knew Shaolin Rogue's standard weapons were not powerful enough to instantly kill two thick-skinned Kaiju.
Nevertheless, they piloted Crimson Typhoon toward the monsters.
"Thundercloud Formation!"
"Let's go!" the three brothers shouted in unison. The alloy saw blades on Crimson Typhoon's three arms spun rapidly, looking razor-sharp.
"ROOOAR!"
"ROOOAR!"
Both Kaiju burst through the water again, lunging at Crimson Typhoon from two directions.
Behind them, driven by an invisible force, Shaolin Rogue's makeshift right fist disintegrated again, the sharp metal fragments floating in mid-air.
Then, the components of the entire arm began to move, seemingly under immense strain.
"Shaolin Rogue, we are detecting damage to your frame. What is happening!?" The command center detected the anomaly and quickly inquired via comms.
Given Shaolin Rogue's demonstrated combat power, fighting two Kaiju should not result in such widespread damage.
Natsuki did not reply.
He simply increased his telekinetic output slightly, mixing in a trace of energy.
Soon, both the fighting Kaiju and Crimson Typhoon noticed the anomaly.
They realized that in the dark ocean battlefield, a brilliant light had suddenly appeared—a radiance impossible to ignore!
"What is that...?" Sasha and Aleksis watched, slightly agape.
In their view, Shaolin Rogue's right hand had disintegrated into countless fragments, suspended in mid-air. Under unknown control, they accelerated into a rapid rotation, forming a vortex... no, a wheel!
The moment the wheel formed, dazzling white light emerged between the fragments, connecting them and even forming serrated edges.
It was like a light wheel constructed from machinery and pure radiance!
"Fall back!" Natsuki's voice instantly rang in Wei Hu Tang's mind—faster than the comms.
Receiving the command, Crimson Typhoon's three pilots immediately reacted with synchronized movements. They grabbed Leatherback's arms, then powered their legs.
"WHOOSH—"
With help from their back thrusters, they used Leatherback as leverage, flipping over him. The massive Jaeger splashed back into the water behind the Kaiju.
Otachi, attempting to attack Crimson Typhoon, struck empty air and collided with Leatherback again.
"Detecting high-intensity energy reaction, very similar to previous readings!" the command center reported.
In that split second, as Leatherback and Otachi collided:
"VWOOM!!!"
The light wheel formed from Shaolin Rogue's right hand blazed brighter. With a tremendous sound, it was flung forward, the entire arm transforming into components that merged into the mechanical light wheel!
The ocean surface split instantly. Before the waves could even react, the mechanical light wheel had already reached the two Kaiju.
"SHHHINK!!!"
The mechanical light wheel sliced clean through the bodies of both Kaiju, then immediately shot skyward, transforming into a brilliant, ascending meteor!
Everything happened too fast!
The ocean surface belatedly split into a surging chasm. Both Kaiju bodies split in half a moment later. Massive amounts of blue blood and organs spilled out, splashing into the water.
"Holy crap!"
"What kind of move was that!?" Wei Hu Tang watched the light wheel fly past and couldn't help cursing.
He looked at the Kaiju, split perfectly in half and dead, then at the light wheel ascending higher, filled with shock.
What in the world was that?
Such immense power!
Was that truly a move Shaolin Rogue should be capable of?
"The Eight-Point Light Wheel—low-consumption mechanical version," Natsuki said through the comms with a light laugh as he controlled Shaolin Rogue to straighten up.
Though this technique couldn't match the power of the genuine Eight-Point Light Wheel, it was energy-efficient—and easily capable of slaughtering two Kaiju.
Meanwhile, beneath the dark water outside the Shatterdome base, a Kaiju with obvious modification marks gradually surfaced.
It had black skin like a goblin shark, two pairs of arms, and a pair of thick legs. Its body had reached a hundred meters!
"KRAAAW!" Knifehead let out a mechanically-tinged roar in the churning waves. Reaching the shallows, it stepped onto the rocks, advancing step by step toward the Shatterdome.
"To deal with the Kaiju, all the Jaegers should be deployed. So... this base, I will gladly take." Thousands of miles away, the man with neat brown hair watched the base on alert through his screen, his eyes cold.
As Knifehead approached the base, suddenly:
"VWOOOOM—"
A massive siren pierced the night sky.
The Shatterdome gates slowly opened. A deep blue Jaeger, primed and ready, revealed its full form. Facing the incoming Kaiju, it cracked its knuckles.
"We won't let him down," Raleigh and Mako said in perfect unison.
