Chapter 3 - MORROR

You're probably asking yourself, "Then how does he know what he looks like?"

A good question. Let me explain.

For centuries, people believed that vampires couldn't be seen in mirrors because we supposedly dont have souls. An amusing theory. And I assure you, I still have mine. If that belief was true, then desks, chairs, and every other soulless object would vanish from mirrors as well. Clearly, the logic never held.

However… when I was a child, I truly could not see my reflection. Not because of curses or souls....but because of silver.

In the old days, mirrors were made with silver. I am allergic to it. So when light struck those mirrors, my image wasn't reflected back it was ... swallowed, absorbed like light falling into a black hole. I don't claim to understand the physics of it, only the result.

Modern mirrors are made with aluminum instead of silver. That is why, today, my reflection can finally be seen.

Still, even in those earlier years, I could see myself in water. The image was twisted, broken by ripples...but it was there.

And it was all i had... aside from rumors and what i could see and feel on my own.
