Chapter 2 - The Five that Bind

Samuel Used his psychic void magic to telepathically locate THE 5 , five special witches who are masters of their power and elements ,After that he teleported from the Abuja to the desert to locate The fire witch (Ignara). The void Magic's teleportation power was so visually stunning to watch ,it spat Samuel out onto a desert.

The sun was a white coin pinned to a molten sky, and sand rolled endlessly in every direction. He coughed once, brushing dust from his sleeves, and muttered, "Next time I'm picking somewhere with air-conditioning."

A female voice answered with laughter — not human, not kind.

He turned toward it. From the dunes rose a woman wreathed in flame, her copper skin glinting beneath threads of molten gold. Sparks leapt from her hair like restless firebirds.

Ignara.

She stood barefoot atop the glassed sand, watching him the way a predator studies prey — curious whether to devour or entertain.

"You're far from home, stranger," she said, voice crackling like embered wood. "Do you seek warmth… or death?"

Samuel smiled, brushing off the sand. "A little of both, depending on your hospitality."

The flame-witch tilted her head, amused. "You've courage, at least. That's new."

"I've been told it's stupidity wearing better perfume."

For a heartbeat, the desert stilled. Then Ignara raised her hand — and the desert floor erupted and Fire shaped itself into serpents of smoke, and sharp fangs dripping molten hot glass.

Samuel did not move. Shadows flickered under his feet, spreading in circular lines— a web of void-light, black and violet, pulsing like a heartbeat.

The serpent Shaped fire struck him

But he lifted a single finger, and the fire bent inward into a semi circle — the flames folding into silence. With his void magic the flames bursted apart again and exploded , the flames were gone, leaving only glass that steamed beneath their feet.

Ignara's smile faltered. "Void magic. Dangerous toy, that."

"Toy?" Samuel dusted his palms. "You should see my collection."

She looked him up and down, then nodded once. "You carry balance in your bones. The desert told me someone would come — to gather the Five. I didn't think it'd be a pretty boy in a coat."

"I get that a lot," he said with a grin. "You in?"

Ignara closed her eyes, and her flames subsided into faint sparks licking her shoulders. "If what the desert whispers is true — that the Phoenix and Chaos rise again — then yes. I'll burn for your cause."

"Good. Try not to burn me first."

The witch laughed, a sound like crackling embers. "No promises, Voidwalker." Samuel told ignara he was gonna locate her with his psychic powers and bring her to a location where they were gonna strategize their next plans.

As he walked toward the portal with his void powers Samuel has created at the edge of the desert , Samuel looked once at the scorched horizon. He thought he saw, just for a breath, a man standing in the haze — elegant, gray-eyed, watching.

Femi.

But when Samuel blinked, the vision was gone.

The next portal dropped him into chaos — literally.

He appeared midair above a floating city of turbines and windmills ,wind storms everywhere and slicing past him. Alarms blared. Bolts of lightning split the clouds and struck him

"Not again," Samuel groaned in pain and lost balance,he falling through the sky.

A figure dove after him, streaking lightning — Zephira, the Storm Witch, her hair white as mist, eyes alight with thunder. She caught him by the wrist.

"Who in all the storms are you?" she shouted over the roar.

"Just visiting!"

"Without wings?"

"Long story!"

She yanked him toward herself and they landed hard on the ground the wind ripped his coat open. The once floating in mid air city now spun below balanced on the ground — but when he looked up in the sky he saw lots of propellers, ships, and silver domes held aloft by perpetual storm.

Zephira glared at him, lightning coiling around her fingers. "You nearly fried in my airspace. Give me one reason I shouldn't throw you back up In the sky".

"Because I'd haunt you. And I'm quite clingy."

That earned a reluctant smirk.

Before she could reply back a loud scream cut through the thunder. Sky-pirates dove from the clouds — machines shaped like vultures, weapons blazing.

Zephira swore. "Ahh fu*k!Hold on."

She spread her arms; lightning branched from her palms, tearing through the machines. Samuel also raised his hand, summoning black and purple void threads that swallowed the falling wrecks before they hit the city.

When the last pirate fell, Zephira turned to him, chest heaving. "You control the dark between storms."

"I try to keep it tidy."

"You're mad. I like that." She extended a gloved hand. "Zephira of the Skyborne. I owe you one, Voidwalker."

"Let's call it even. I'm recruiting. Care to join before the sky kills us both?"

She laughed, shaking his hand. "Lead the way."

He discussed how he was gonna locate her once the 5 were all complete

Samuel Teleported into the realm of water and ocean The Realm of sirens and mermaids

Water pressed in from all sides. This time, Samuel landed waist-deep in a deep octopus shaped cave.

A woman stood ahead, her braids drifting like ribbons in the current. Her eyes were sea-glass green, calm but wary. Nysara, the Water Witch.

"You tread on sacred flow," she said softly. "Why does the void step into my realm, into my kingdom ".

Samuel raised both hands. "I come in peace. Usually."

Before he could explain Nysara attacked him with her powers the water rippled. From the depths of the ocean surged beasts of salt and bone. Nysara turned to them summoning spirals of water that cut through them like sharp knives and they headed towards Samuel direction

Samuel watched, impressed. "Nice form." Not moving an inch . He deflected the attack back at Nysara ,and she watched in horror, but right as they were about to hit her,Samuel used his void power of disintegration to destroy them atom by atom. He laughed and turned to Nysara " you're the Queen of the sirens and the mermaid supreme are you trying to kill me?"

She gave him a side-eye. "Compliments distract the current."

"Or make it dance."

Her lips twitched, just slightly. "Flattery won't spare you if you lie."

"I don't lie. I recruit."

Nysara flicked her fingers and the ocean responded,it glowed faintly blue.

"You seek the Five."

He nodded. "And I've found three."

"Then may the tide guide your fourth."

She stepped beside him, her reflection merging with his shadow — water and void intertwining for a heartbeat.

He discussed the location of their next meeting and teleported away

Far above the mortal realm,Femi stood within a mirror of black glass. The reflections showed Samuel's journey ,he was watching him — the fire, the storm, the tide.

He smiled faintly. "Gather them, little Balance. The more light you hold, the more I will drink."

Behind him, two shapes flared briefly — crimson and gold, the echo of Wanda and Jean, now restless, drawn closer to waking.

He whispered to the void, his voice like velvet and frost. "And when you stand between them, brother… I will be the shadow that devours both."

(To Realms Beyond)

The portal opened again, and Samuel felt the difference immediately.

No air, no earth — only vast silver plain ground under two moons.

Two figures awaited him.

The first was Velyd, the Witch of Illusion and Divination, pale as moonlight, her eyes ringed in gold. She studied him as though reading several versions of him at once.

"The Balance finally moves," she said, her tone neither warm nor cold. "You walk paths already written, yet still unwritten."

Samuel gave a tired smile. "I get that a lot."

"Do you?" she murmured. "Then you will meet him soon."

"Him?"

But she only turned toward the second figure — Tristan Talon, the Earth Warlock.

He was taller than Samuel remembered from legend, solid and calm, his green eyes steady as stone. His presence anchored the world around him; the silver plain seemed to breathe with him.

"Samuel Herindor," Tristan said evenly. "The void-walker who calls himself Balance."

"Only on Thursdays," Samuel replied, grinning. "You must be the famous Tristan Talon — or should I say, the Tristan everyone pretends not to have a crush on?"

Tristan raised an eyebrow. "Flattery from strangers doesn't move mountains."

Samuel leaned closer, voice dropping to that teasing, Nigerian-flavored drawl. "Ah, but maybe it can make the ground shake small, hmm?"

Tristan exhaled, fighting a smirk. "You talk too much."

"Only when I meet someone interesting."

Their eyes locked for a moment longer than necessary — tension, amusement, something unspoken. Then Tristan looked away, grounding his staff into the soil.

"Fine," he said. "I'll hear your cause. But if this ends in ruin, I'll bury you myself."

Samuel winked. "That's the most romantic threat I've heard all day, handsome ."
