Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Rudolph still didn't see through anything.

As Tokai Shizen's body gradually improved, and she was only a few days away from being discharged, Maruzensky finally returned.

It was a good thing this time she only went to a general area to watch a race, otherwise Maruzensky wouldn't have been back by now.

The first thing she did after returning couldn't possibly be anything else.

"Maruzen, where are you going?"

Rudolph Symboli asked, looking at the hurried Maruzensky.

Hearing this, Maruzensky merely turned her head slightly to glance at Rudolph Symboli, and then spoke: "None of your business."

A voice so cold it didn't sound like Maruzensky.

Listening to such a cold voice, Rudolph Symboli wanted to say something, but she was met with the other's gaze, as if she was looking at scum.

The complete contrast to her usual demeanor prevented Rudolph Symboli from pressing further.

Not pressing further bought Maruzensky a little time.

In just that short amount of time, Maruzensky disappeared from Rudolph Symboli's sight.

Looking at the vanished Maruzensky, Rudolph Symboli frowned.

She couldn't understand why Maruzensky's attitude towards her had changed so drastically.

But recalling the other's hurried appearance, Rudolph Symboli didn't plan to follow her to ask.

After all, there was no work that required Maruzensky afterward, so letting her handle her own affairs first was fine.

It's just... she'd have to ask what happened later.

Thinking this, Rudolph Symboli walked out of the train station and headed towards Tracen Academy not far away.

And as Rudolph Symboli walked towards Tracen Academy, Maruzensky had already gotten into a taxi heading to the hospital.

Her own car was still parked in that house, so she could only take a taxi, otherwise Maruzensky's driver's license would definitely be revoked.

About twenty minutes later, Maruzensky arrived at the main entrance of the hospital where Tokai Shizen was staying.

After getting out of the car, without any hesitation, she quickly walked towards the room number Representative Chiaki had given her.

Before long, she stood at the door of the hospital room.

The hospital room door was closed, and there were faint sounds of conversation coming from inside.

Listening to the conversation,

Maruzensky just took a deep breath, adjusted her mental state slightly, and then pushed open the door.

Entering the private room, Maruzensky saw Tokai Shizen and Sakura Chiyo O sitting by the hospital bed.

Looking at the two of them, Maruzensky was silent for a few seconds, and then extended her hand to Tokai Shizen: "Tokai."

Turning her head, Tokai Shizen saw Maruzensky standing there.

...Maruzen, you're back.

"Mm."

Looking at Tokai Shizen's face, Maruzensky only felt that her original anxiety had been soothed.

She quickly walked behind Chiyo O, and then Maruzensky spoke again: "How is your body?"

"The results are in; I can prepare for discharge tomorrow."

Hearing Tokai Shizen's words, Maruzensky was silent for a few seconds, and then spoke again: "Are you sure your body is fine? You can still rest for a while."

"I'm fine."

Tokai Shizen's words were very direct, and hearing this, Maruzensky just looked at Sakura Chiyo O: "Is what Tokai said true?"

"It's true! The doctor checked this morning, and Tokai-nee's body no longer has any major problems. As long as she doesn't overwork herself, there won't be many issues."

The answer given by Sakura Chiyo O finally put Maruzensky at ease.

"I told you I'm fine." Looking at Maruzensky's anxious expression, Tokai Shizen merely added, and then spoke again: "Maruzen, what do you plan to eat tomorrow?"

Hearing this, Maruzensky was stunned for a moment, and then said: "Regarding this, I think..."

She looked at Sakura Chiyo O in front of her, then at Tokai Shizen, and then Maruzensky spoke: "We can wait. I'll ask... Chiaki's thoughts tomorrow before deciding."

The slight pause made Tokai Shizen feel a little confused, but since Maruzensky intended to do so, Tokai Shizen still nodded.

Tokai Shizen's nod made Maruzensky say the rest of her sentence: "Chiyo O, what do you want to eat tomorrow?"

"Eh? Me too?"

"Of course. After all, you and Chiaki have been taking care of Shizen during this time. If I only invited Chiaki, it wouldn't be very good." Saying this, Maruzensky shifted her gaze slightly, then spoke again: "Although Chiaki is a bit... but inviting her isn't a bad thing."

Listening to Maruzensky's answer,

Tokai Shizen still didn't understand why Representative Chiaki needed to be emphasized, but since Maruzensky had agreed, Tokai Shizen had nothing to worry about.

So, Tokai Shizen was silent for a few seconds, and then spoke again: "Regarding the expenses for staying here during this time..."

"Oh, that's fine. It's not much money; you don't need to pay it back." Saying this, Maruzensky shifted her gaze slightly.

Compared to her own expenses, Tokai Shizen's hospitalization fees during this period were the major cost, and Representative Chiaki probably didn't intend for Maruzensky to pay her back.

So, Maruzensky just sighed, and then turned her gaze back to Tokai Shizen.

"You can stay here afterward too."

"...I can?"

"Yes, no problem. After all, that house is mostly empty, and having someone look after it is a good thing."

Looking at Maruzensky standing behind Chiyo O, only a glimmer of tears flashed in Tokai Shizen's eyes.

As if realizing the tears in her eyes, Tokai Shizen raised a hand and wiped her eyes with her palm: "Thank you... thank you."

Listening to Tokai Shizen's words, the expression on Maruzensky's face changed slightly, finally revealing a small smile.

Seeing Tokai Shizen's expression, Sakura Chiyo O did not interrupt at this time.

Because interrupting at this moment would indeed be inappropriate.

Moreover, Chiyo O was also happy that Tokai Shizen could find a stable place to live.

After all, although Chiyo O had only heard the false story from Tokai Shizen's mouth about her situation, she still understood the difficulties involved.

So, Chiyo O was also happy for Tokai Shizen. She planned to rest for a while, then go to the hospital to see Tokai Shizen.

But the person who opened the Student Council Room door next broke Representative Chiaki's good mood.

"Rudolph Symboli."

"Hmm, it seems you've been diligently completing your Student Council work these past few days."

Without a response, she stood up directly and quickly left the Student Council Room.

Looking at Representative Chiaki, who was clearly not herself, Rudolph Symboli didn't understand why Representative Chiaki was in a bad mood.

But... "Let's check the work first."
