The Poké Ball absorbed the Izuchi and began to shake.

Perhaps because the Izuchi was in such a deep sleep, the Poké Ball only shook a few times before it successfully completed the capture. The moment it did, a series of prompts appeared before Zhang Tian's eyes.

[Successfully captured the Izuchi!]

(Evolves into Izuchi King at Level 30.)

[Note: Pokémonized monsters will be completely loyal and will never betray you.]

"The system is incredible. It can actually turn an Izuchi into a Pokémon... This is perfect." Looking at the system prompts, Zhang Tian was deeply satisfied.

In his view, the most terrifying thing about Pokémon was their boundless potential. With careful training and the right resources, even the weakest Pokémon could grow into a formidable powerhouse like a certain Delibird that managed to defeat the legendary Ho-Oh.

If the Izuchi hadn't been Pokémonized, its potential would have been capped. It might evolve into an Izuchi King, but it would never be a match for truly powerful monsters or Pokémon. Now, as a Pokémon, it had a chance to grow stronger, perhaps one day even rivaling the mighty Elder Dragons.

Zhang Tian raised his hand to release the Izuchi. He gently removed the tranquilizer dart and administered an awakening agent.

Snort...

The Izuchi shook its head, its eyes clearing as it looked at Zhang Tian with a newfound intelligence. It was clear that becoming a Pokémon had significantly boosted its cognitive abilities.

"Izuchi, it's a pleasure to meet you." Zhang Tian smiled and greeted it.

Thanks to the system's guarantee of loyalty, he was completely at ease. Normally, newly caught Pokémon were wild and difficult to tame; they might disobey orders or even attack their trainer. If not for the system, it would have taken him at least half a month, maybe even several months, to properly train the Izuchi.

"Roar," the Izuchi nodded and rubbed against Zhang Tian's hand affectionately.

After getting acquainted with his new partner, Zhang Tian began to explore the rest of the abandoned building.

"What's this?"

He noticed a carcass on the floor a wild boar, gnawed in half.

"Pidgeo!"

The moment it saw the carcass, Pidgeotto swooped down excitedly and began to peck at the meat. The Izuchi, however, remained calm; this was clearly its leftover meal.

"Why is Pidgeotto so excited?" Zhang Tian frowned slightly. He tore off a small piece of the boar meat and used the system's analysis function.

Soon, information about the meat appeared before him.

Wild Monster Meat

Description: A piece of meat rich in potent energy. Prolonged consumption can increase one's strength.

"Increase strength!"

Zhang Tian's eyes lit up. He thought about the protagonists in the Monster Hunter games. They started out weak, only able to hunt small monsters, but eventually became strong enough to take down Elder Dragons. Clearly, the game's protagonists grew stronger over time. The key had to be the meat of these powerful monsters.

He didn't know if his theory was entirely correct, but eating monster meat was obviously beneficial.

"Pidgeotto, not so fast. Let's take this back home to eat."

Zhang Tian called his Pokémon back, activated the system, and returned to his room, bringing Pidgeotto, the Izuchi, and the boar carcass with him.

"Go on, Pidgeotto, eat up." Zhang Tian smiled gently. He then cut off a large piece of the pork for himself and began to wash it. If he could also get stronger by eating this meat, he might be able to become a real hunter in that world, with strength comparable to the monsters themselves.

After washing the pork, he fired up the stove. Soon, a large plate of stir-fried pork with green peppers was ready. Zhang Tian picked up a piece and put it in his mouth. The instant he ate it, he felt a surge of strength flow through him.

"Is this my imagination?"

He ate another piece. The feeling returned, even stronger this time.

"It's not an illusion. I'm really getting stronger!"

"This is great! I've found a way to make Pidgeotto stronger quickly. I may not have the money for expensive Pokémon supplements, but I can go to the Monster Hunter world and get all the monster meat we need." A wide smile spread across Zhang Tian's face.

Just as he finished his meal, a new prompt appeared.

[Congratulations on stepping into the realm of the extraordinary. You have reached Level 1. Do you wish to undergo Pokémonization?]

[Note: Your Pokémonization will be based on the Hunter from the Monster Hunter world.]

[Note: Due to your unique nature, Poké Balls will not work on you after Pokémonization.]

Looking at the prompt, Zhang Tian began to ponder. "Yes!" he finally confirmed. The Monster Hunter world was too dangerous. If he remained an ordinary human, he would be killed sooner or later. His Pokémon couldn't protect him forever.

[Pokémonization beginning...]

[Pokémonization successful!]

[Your data is as follows:]

Special Defense Base Stat: 50

"A very nice ability. I'll have to find Kamura Village and craft some equipment to test it out," Zhang Tian thought after reviewing his new stats.

"Pidgeo!" The well-fed Pidgeotto flew over to him.

"Huh?" Zhang Tian looked at it in surprise. "Level 19? The effect is that good?"

Pidgeotto had just been Level 18. Gaining a whole level from a single meal was an astonishing result. Under normal training, it would have taken him at least a month or two to achieve the same thing. Of course, with expensive Pokémon resources, the time could be cut down to a week, but this was on another level.

"Izuchi, come here."

Zhang Tian beckoned to his other partner. After feeding the Izuchi a few pieces of pork, he noticed it had grown slightly stronger. Although its level hadn't increased, its aura was undeniably more potent.

"The Izuchi couldn't have had this ability before it was Pokémonized," he mused. "If it could get this much stronger from just a little meat, it would have evolved into an Izuchi King long ago. This must be an ability unique to them as Pokémon."

Thinking of this, Zhang Tian recalled the protagonists from the games. The main difference between them and ordinary hunters was their incredible capacity for rapid growth.
