Chapter 2 - The Lunatic Bloodline of Soleil

In the northern part of the world stood a mighty kingdom — the Kingdom of the Ice Dragon. Blanketed in eternal frost, the kingdom was home to both dragons and humans — an impossible coexistence born from a legendary union.

The Dragon Queen, ruler of the icy realm, had once chosen as her consort one of the strongest mortals — the Head of the Soleil House.

Many dragons doubted his worth, scoffing at the idea that a mere human could stand beside their queen. But those doubts burned literally when the lunati-ehem... benevolent Lord of Soleil roasted his challengers alive.

After that day, the Soleil and Dragona bloodlines became one, birthing a generation of monsters.

Behind the castle, mountains pierced the clouds like frozen spears. Atop the highest peak lay a sacred training ground where only the kingdom's elite were allowed to tread.

There, two figures faced each other beneath the pale light of dawn.

One was a young boy with snow-white hair and crimson slit eyes, no older than six. Opposite him stood a teenager with fiery red hair and the same predatory gaze.

Kelbin smirked, cracking his knuckles."Ready, little bro?"

Sirius nodded once. "I am."

The moment he spoke, he vanished.

A blur of white darted across the field, and in a flash, Sirius appeared before Kelbin, his leg cutting through the air. Kelbin grinned and leaned aside, his hand snapping out to grab Sirius's ankle.

But Sirius twisted midair, spinning his momentum into an elegant counter. His elbow cut toward Kelbin's jaw—only to meet a raised forearm. It was a feint. Sirius pivoted again and launched a roundhouse kick that Kelbin barely dodged.

"Impressive," Kelbin admitted, stepping back with a laugh."Did the Grand Martial teach you that?"

Sirius tilted his head slightly."He did."

"Then let's see how much you learned."

This time, Kelbin moved first.

He leapt high — then dropped like a meteor.

The ground shattered on impact, shards of ice scattering like glass. Sirius rolled aside, using the smoke and dust as cover before vanishing again. He reappeared behind Kelbin, Zen swirling around his palm.

Kelbin quickly gathered his Zen, the air around him trembling as he braced for the incoming blast.

But instead of detonating the energy, Sirius feinted again, his leg whipping upward, cracking against Kelbin's head.

Kelbin stumbled, blinking in surprise, but Sirius was already in front of him, holding a sword made of white flames. Kelbin instinctively released a burst of Zen to defend himself, the shockwave sending Sirius flying.

Shit... I overdid it, Kelbin thought, his chest tightening as he dashed toward his brother. Please be okay, little bro—

Before he could finish the thought, three ice spears shot toward him.

Kelbin dodged one, caught another, and swung it to parry the third—

BOOM!

The ice exploded on contact, forcing him to skid backwards as Zen flared around his body.

When the dust cleared, Sirius stood amid the frost, grinning like a devil.

"This is fun, Brother!"His slit crimson eyes gleamed with wild delight.

Kelbin blinked, then burst out laughing."Yeah... it is."

The two charged at each other again, laughter echoing across the mountains like a chorus of mad gods.

Outside the barrier, soldiers watched in horror, their faces pale.

One whispered, "Looks like the youngest is a lunatic too…"

Another sighed."That nickname's never going away."

The Soleil family — feared across nations, whispered about by guardians and mortals alike.

They were known simply as—

The Family of Lunatics.
