Ah, the joy of waking up
early, feeling refreshed and
rejuvenated! I stretch my
arms and smile, grateful for
this solo journey I'm on.
Being single is treating me
right, and I'm loving every
moment of it.
The silence in my home is
golden, allowing me to hear
my thoughts and connect
with myself on a deeper level.
I savor the quiet morning
hours, sipping my coffee and
planning my day without
anyone else's input.
I take pride in my
independence, in being able to
do whatever I want,
whenever I want. Whether
it's trying a new recipe,
reading a book, or simply
lounging in bed, I'm the
queen of my own domain.
Solitude is my happy place,
where I can recharge and
rediscover myself. I'm not
lonely; I'm liberated. And as
I start this new day, I'm
excited to see what
adventures await me,
knowing that I'm the
captain of my own ship.
I got out of bed and walk
into the bathroom and took a
shower. When I was done I
lotion my body and walk to
the closet. I pick out black
jean, a black bodysuit and red
blazer and I end my look
with black stiletto pump. I
decided to tie my braids in a
bun, I shape my eyebrows
and put some mascara and
lipstick. When I was done I
took my bag and Rolls Royce
keys, run downstairs and
crapped some apples because
I was running late for
breakfast.
I arrived 5 minutes early for
the first time since I've
worked here I am known as
'miss always late'. I greeted
our receptionist Mitchell
Mike and checked in. I
found my PA Dineo Ray in
my office waiting for me as
usual I must say she loves
her job.
Me: "Good morning Dineo"
Dineo: "Good morning, Miss
Lindy. I'm surprised to see
you here so early, you're
always running a bit behind
schecule"
I just laughed.
Me: "I woke up early today,
felt like getting a head start
on the day"
Dineo: "Wow, that's unsual.
Did you get a good
morning…um, motivation?"
I know what she was going
to say.
Me: [laughing] "I think I'll
leave that one alone, let's
just say I'm feeling
energized today. You don't
need to know all the details."
Dineo: "Okay, okay, I'm just
curious, because you're always
late. What's gotten into you
today? "
I just laughed, and placed 5
files on my desk I just hope
they don't need to be signed.
Me: "Let's just say I'm
turning over a new leaf. But
don't get too used to it, I
might go back to my old ways
tomorrow"
She just laughs at me.
Dineo: "I'll enjoy it while it
lasts then. By the way,
those are the files from
Head of Finance they need to
be signed, then after signing,
please hand them to Father Blessing
to sign them too then
afterwards I will email them to HR"
signing is really tiring like
every file consist of 10-15
pages that needs to be
signed, but I signed them all
and got out of the office to
hand them to Father Blessing.
I found his office opened as
usual, and saw him staring
out of the window like he is in
deep thoughts. I knocked
then he let me in.
Me: "Good morning Father"
He turned back with a smile
and gave me a hug.
Blessing: "how are you my child ?"
Me: " I'm okay how are you Father ?"
I placed the files on his desk.
Blessing: " I'm also okay let me guess I
have to sign them?"
I chuckled a bit, we both
hate signing.
Me: "definitely, Father are you
sure you are okay because I
found you staring out of the
window and it seemed like you
were in deep thoughts"
He took a deep breath.
Blessing: "I am dying
Lindy, I was diagnosed with
brain tumor last week and it
seems like it is spreading
rapidly to other cells and it is
slowly affecting my memory,
please don't tell anyone about
this, so I will have to retire
next month and I hope you
will run our side business
that is officially yours very
well without me. Price and
Princess will help you with
this one"
I felt tears running down my
cheeks, this can't be
happening I can't lose
Father Blessing I mean he
has been nothing but a
father to me for all this 13
years, I just hope I get hold
with the best Oncologist in
the world ASAP. I hugged
him and walked back to my
beautiful office, I decided to
call my IT, Sean.
Sean : "Yes boss"
Me: "Sean I need you to find
me the best Oncologist in
the world ASAP"
Sean: "on it, I will send you
the details when I get
them, salute"
He hanged up, I took off my
blazer and placed it on my
mini couch. Just admired the
beauty of Cape Town
through this thick glass
window, luckily someone who
is outside can't see what is
happening inside.
I might say I got lost in my
thoughts because I was
brought back to earth by my
friend Vanessa shouting my name.
Vanessa: "hey bitch, who
is he?"
Me: "the is no 'he' you do
know that I want nothing
that will mix me with
relationship, I was just
thinking about what
Blessing told me few
minutes ago"
Vanessa: "you will never
know, I must say Brian
really broke your heart friend
you have been single for the
whole 2 years I think salt is
killing you bit by bit. It must
be something serious because
you were completely deep in
thoughts I've been knocking
several times, I've bought
you lunch you must be
starving"
Me: "dildos were made for a
reason.
It is serious. By the way
thank you, you must've read
my mind because I was so
hungry"
We ate and talked about this
and that, having my friends
around is such a blessing and
few minutes when we were
about to finish eating our
other friend Anna came in holding
two bottles of wine I wonder
how did she get pass the
receptionist holding them.
Anna: "hey guys, I've
bought you guys something
to drink"
Me: "I am still at work, and
how did you pass the
receptionist?"
Anna: "one glass won't kill
you idiot, uhm she did try to
stop me but I told her
where to get off, then yeah
here I am stop asking me
questions let's drink" we
laughed at her.
Vanessa: "yes girl"
I just took one glass since I
was having a meeting in next
40 minutes, we laughed and
talked about men even
though I am not into them
anymore all thanks to Brian
when he left me at our
wedding day 2 years back and
he immediately got married
2 months after that, just
wish he doesn't come back
into my life asking for
forgiveness and done with
him.
