Chapter 32 - Chapter 32 Danzō: Isn't this preposterous?

Hiruzen Sarutobi's worried expression naturally caught the attention of Danzō Shimura and the others, and Danzō immediately asked what had happened.

The front lines, could there be a change?

Which battlefield had a problem?

Danzō was eager to know, and if necessary, Root could be deployed.

The current Danzō was not yet the one he would become a decade later, who only knew how to hide in the shadows, playing schemes and lacking the courage to even attack. The Konoha Crush and Pain's Assault on the Village were prime examples.

In reality, he simply didn't understand that at such times, he should step forward and save the village. That way, even if you were dark and unpopular, you could still gain support. The problem was that Danzō had hidden in the darkness for too long and had forgotten this, or perhaps because Hiruzen Sarutobi had held the Hokage position for too long, he had gone mad, resorting to any means for the Hokage position, not caring about anything else.

However, such an approach was too inferior, so he couldn't gain any favor and was ultimately taken out by Sasuke.

"Tsunade has returned."

Hiruzen Sarutobi said softly.

What?

Who returned?

Tsunade returned?

How did she return? There's a problem!

At these words, the faces of Danzō and the other three changed dramatically.

"Hiruzen, has Tsunade returned to the village?" Among them, Koharu Utatane hurriedly stood up, asking if Tsunade had returned to the village.

Hiruzen Sarutobi shook his head and said softly, "No, she hasn't returned to the village. She appeared on the Kirigakure battlefield and took over command of the Kirigakure battlefield. She is now the overall commander of the front lines."

"What?"

Danzō was the first to object, immediately exclaiming in anger, "Isn't this preposterous?"

You, a ninja who has been away from Konoha for many years, even if your status is extraordinary, you dare to interfere so rashly in battlefield matters, and even take over command of the battlefield? I just want to ask, what are you trying to do? Are you trying to reach the heavens?

Furthermore, without the Hokage's authorization, you dare to do such a thing. Is this rebellion or what? This is simply lawless!

What?

I do the same thing?

Can that be the same?

No, it's completely different.

Danzō had no concept of double standards. He genuinely believed that he was acting for the village, for the greater good, and therefore, his actions were correct.

Thus, he could naturally act first and report later, but others couldn't do the same.

Utatane Koharu nodded and echoed, "Yes, Hiruzen, Tsunade's actions were too extreme. How could she do such a thing? What if it leads to an unfavorable war situation? How will we deal with it afterward? Have you considered this problem? You cannot indulge Tsunade's recklessness; she is too heedless."

Although placing the Uchiha Clan on the Hidden Mist battlefield was intentional, the purpose was only to deplete the Uchiha Clan. Losses would naturally be good, but it didn't matter if there were none. Besides, with the Uchiha Clan on the battlefield against the Hidden Mist, it wouldn't be easy to defeat the Hidden Mist, making it difficult to gain military achievements. This would also suppress the Uchiha Clan.

But the premise for all of this was that the Uchiha Clan could not truly be wiped out. One must remember that Konoha was currently fighting on multiple fronts. If a problem arose on the Land of Whirlpools front, it would affect the security of the southeastern Land of Fire. The Hidden Mist could very likely take advantage of this to invade in force, which would then impact the entire war. This could not be taken lightly.

"If you indulge Tsunade, it cannot be accepted. I absolutely will not allow it." This was Utatane Koharu's stance.

Although Homura Mitokado did not express an opinion, his silence meant he leaned towards Danzo and Utatane Koharu.

After all, this matter could be big or small. No matter what, Tsunade could not be allowed to act recklessly and thus affect the entire war. If the Land of Whirlpools front collapsed, the consequences would be unimaginable.

One move affects the whole body; this is no small matter.

Hiruzen Sarutobi spoke calmly and unhurriedly, "You don't need to be nervous. This is the result of discussions between Uchiha Fugaku, the Uchiha Clan's clan head on the front line, and the Jonin of the Nara Clan and Hyuga Clan."

"Even so, it's not acceptable. Why should they switch?" Utatane Koharu was very displeased and grumbled.

Danzo, on the other hand, aimed his criticism at the Uchiha Clan, believing there was an ulterior motive involved. There must be a problem with the Uchiha Clan, otherwise, they wouldn't agree to this.

"Hiruzen, this is too reckless. Changing commanders mid-battle? Isn't that problematic? And the fact that the Uchiha Clan agreed to this means they have some ulterior motive, so we must be on guard. In my opinion, we should recall the Uchiha Clan and let the Hyuga Clan take over."

Although arranging for the Uchiha Clan to be on the Hidden Mist battlefield was a decision they had all discussed, the current situation was clearly not right. Who knew that Tsunade would get involved? Regardless of her intentions, once she commanded this battle, as long as the Hidden Mist was repelled, it would mean the commander would gain immense prestige.

And this person happened to be Tsunade. Her status was not ordinary. Once she achieved victory and won this battle, it would mean a huge increase in her personal prestige, which was something Danzo could not tolerate.

If your personal prestige skyrockets, coupled with your noble status, what would be left for me if there were truly an election for Hokage in the future?

Another point was the Uchiha Clan's sudden support for Tsunade, which was another major point of suspicion.

Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean the Uchiha Clan supports Tsunade, but the fact that the Uchiha Clan gave up the position of overall commander is a big problem. Whether they discovered the true intention behind their arrangement to place the Uchiha Clan on the Hidden Mist battlefield, or if they intended to unite with the Senju Clan represented by Tsunade to oppose the Village, these were all things Danzo could not accept, so he had to stop it at all costs.

"This time, Tsunade was ambushed by the Hidden Mist Anbu, and Uchiha Bai Mu saved her. Tsunade is of noble status, and being attacked by the Hidden Mist Anbu, it would be problematic if she didn't retaliate. It's mainly because she wants revenge, which is why she took over command. The Uchiha Clan's support is also out of helplessness; no one can stop Tsunade when she's being willful. What's more, the Jonin of both the Hyuga and Nara Clans explicitly support her, so the Uchiha Clan naturally has no choice. Besides, you all know Fugaku's character. This matter isn't that complicated, stop overthinking it."

Although Hiruzen Sarutobi was somewhat annoyed, he still reached a conclusion based on the contents of the scroll delivered. Tsunade was attacked by the Hidden Mist Anbu and saved by Uchiha Bai Mu. Although she suffered no harm, given Tsunade's temper, she would never let it go and would inevitably retaliate against the Hidden Mist.

Moreover, Hiruzen Sarutobi also had a fire in his heart. Tsunade, publicly, was the princess of the Land of Fire and the clan head of the Senju Clan; privately, she was his disciple. If she was attacked by the Hidden Mist, how could he not retaliate?

Thinking of this, Hiruzen Sarutobi didn't feel there was anything wrong with Tsunade's actions. Furthermore, from his understanding, Tsunade's anger would dissipate, and she would leave on her own, never getting involved again. In that case, the matter would still be controllable.
