Chapter 5 - A Chaotic Exit

Unlike the calm conversation taking place inside the private room, the scene outside was anything but calm.

The guards who had dragged the woman out of the room earlier had no choice but to carry her away when she refused to come along with them peacefully.

Being dragged along by the arms with so many guards surrounding her brought a lot of attention to the woman in the little black dress.

Thus, when they were halfway through the club, she gave up her struggle to be freed after noticing that people were watching her being manhandled by these big and sturdy men.

Worried that she would be recognized if she continued her antics, sh bowed her head and promised Lenny that she would behave herself and come along with them.

She even pouted in hopes of getting him to agree with her and no longer embarrass her in front of the club-goers who were enjoying the show.

Her cheeks were bright red and she refused to let anyone see her pathetic state so she only glanced at Lenny before lowering her head once again.

Not wanting to make things difficult for her, Lenny ordered his men to let go of her arms but continue to watch over her.

Thus, almost eight guards surrounded her as they made their way out of the club without giving her any chance to stray too far from them.

This attention grabbing group then walked out of the club and began entering the cars that were already waiting for them right outside the door.

The guards held the door open to the backseat of the most luxurious car and only made their way to their vehicle after making sure she was secured inside.

Once everyone was in their respective vehicles, Lenny ordered the driver to move along and a long series of cars made their way out of the club's driveway one after another.

Those waiting outside the club who had witnessed the beautiful woman being escorted by so many guards were now curious about her identity.

Unaware of their thoughts, the cars moved along at a steady pace and Lenny kept his eyes on his phone, not caring about the soft sniffles coming from the woman in the backseat.

The driver snuck a peek at the beauty shedding tears through the rearview mirror but did not dare utter a word of comfort when he noticed his friend and superior, Lenny, was ignoring her very existence.

He was their Master's personal driver and his only task to drive his Master around.

Hence he was surprised when he was asked to pick up Lenny from the club as their Master was out of the city at the moment.

However, now that he knew who he was driving for tonight, he could understand why he was being asked to drive someone other than their Master for the very first time.

Before he could delve deeper into what he had discovered tonight, his thoughts were interrupted by the ringing of a phone which was loud and jarring in the silent car.

Realizing that he had been lost in thought earlier, the driver decided to focus on driving but his ears still perked up, trying to catch the conversation that had begun once Lenny answered his call.

"Yes, Master. We are on our way back." Lenny replied shortly after greeting the person who had called him just now.

He was quick-witted enough to lower the volume to ensure that no one else heard what his Master had to say.

What he did not think about was that his words were still clearly heard in the car and the woman in the backseat instantly looked up and fixed her intense gaze on his back as soon as he had uttered those words.

He could feel her burning gaze but chose to ignore her and instead, seriously answered to the questions his Master had asked him.

"I want to talk to Big Brother!" A whiny voice declared, interrupting the conversation taking place.

Lenny did not have to turn around to know that the woman had already stretched her hand out in his direction, expecting him to hand over the phone the moment she asked for it.

He planned to ignore her once again but paused upon hearing the words coming from the other side of the phone.

"Yes, Master. He nodded though the other person could not see him and passed the phone to the woman who shot him a smug, victorious smile.

Rolling his eyes, he turned to gaze out of the window without giving her the satisfaction to gloat at his momentary defeat.

"Big Brother, your men were mean to me!!" She complained as soon as the phone reached her mouth.

Her delicate and whiny tone would make anyone assume that the one speaking was a child letting out her grievances before an adult who she hoped would stand up for her sake.

"They even dared to drag me away forcefully!" She continued with a pout, making both Lenny and the driver to cringe at her childlike behaviour.

Her words were full of blame which she planned to place on Lenny's head, after all, without his orders the guards would not have mistreated her publicly tonight.

'Just you wait!' She smirked inwardly while waiting to hear words of reproach aimed toward Lenny.

Unfortunately, fate had other plans as it was not Lenny's turn to be reproached tonight.

"You should not have provoked her." The voice coming from the other side of the phone was cold enough to send chills down her spine.

Her smug smile cracked and was soon replaced by a pout when she realized that the man she was hoping would stand up for her was, in fact, standing up for the other woman.

"But-" She wanted to explain her reasons for what she had done but wasn't given a chance to continue.

"Maya, she is not someone to be messed with." He explained to make sure that something like tonight never repeated again in the future.

"So take this as a lesson and if you ever see her in the future, you better avoid her." He was kind enough to add a piece of helpful advice.

However, these words were eerily similar to what she had heard from that woman earlier in the private room so her frown deepened subconsciously.

"Pass the phone back to Lenny." He ordered, and the woman named Maya did as she was told in her daze.

By the time she came back to her senses, the call had ended and Lenny had put his phone away.

'Big Brother took that woman's side and scolded me for her sake...' She recalled their conversation as tears blurred her vision.

Sadly, none of the men in the car had any words of comfort for her and instead, focused on their respective tasks.

---

Far away in another city, the man who had just ended the call, glanced at his phone and let out a defeated sigh.

"What did I get myself tangled in!?" He let out another exasperated sigh before looking up at the computer screen.

His stern eyes were fixed on the image on the screen as his fist clenched around the phone in his grasp.

"I should finish my work here sooner." He reminded himself as his gaze landed on a certain figure on the screen.
