Chapter 16 - Chapter 14 :- Is He a Baby?

Step…Step…

I unconsciously grabbed his hand. I was shocked, but he jerked my hand away — roughly.

I again grabbed his wrist, but he lost his balance and fell — before that happened, I used my human instinct and held him by his waist.

I pulled him a little closer so I wouldn't lose my grip on him, but he tried to push me. However, his strength was a little too weak.

He unexpectedly stood on his own two legs.

He smiled like naughty kids do after they win. But I lost my grip because that cute face made me pause.

He fell to the ground — and I fell onto him. He turned his face and looked toward his pastry box… which now had a small cut on it.

His eyes filled with tears.

I was thinking, When I am with a Lion or… hmm…but he never cried in front of me. Why was he crying over a little piece of a box?

I grabbed his face and turned it toward me.

Face to face.

He was crying… and when I glared at him, he smiled.

Is he mental or what? Why is he smiling? That smile was terrifying…But his face also reminded me of a crying puppy with teary eyes — like a lucky charm of forgiveness.

He pushed me again — this time harder.

I fell backward and my butt got hurt. I rubbed it, but he…

He left me in that position and sat on the sofa.

He tried to eat his pastry by hand, but his hands were trembling. The spoon fell.

So… he picked up the spoon from the ground and I thought he was going to use that dirty spoon — but he didn't.

He put the spoon beside the pastry box.

Then he took the pastry with his hand and took a bite.

I couldn't stand that behavior — he didn't even wash his hands. I rushed over and sat beside him.

I snatched the pastry from his hand and went to get a new spoon from the kitchen.

I scolded him for eating with his hand.

"You don't have manners," I said, taking a small piece of pastry. "You should eat like I do in front of you, okay—"

But he ignored me completely. He didn't even hear my full lecture.

He suddenly stood up, turned on the TV, and silently sat back on the sofa.

Then he opened his mouth and said, "Ah~! Come on, feed me now."

I froze. Did he just order me?

I glared at him with killing intent.

He flinched… then trembled like a rabbit and crawled into my arms.

Was he afraid of being alone? Or in the dark?

I turned off the main light in the hall because it was already time to sleep. Lion was also asleep, I think.

I usually like darkness, but because of him… I turned on the dim light instead.

He changed so many dramas on TV…After twenty minutes, he finally selected one.

Name: Suffer

He watched it with intense eyes. It wasn't even famous, but… why was he reacting like that?

I noticed some pastry crumbs on the corner of his mouth.

I raised my finger to clean it, but he suddenly turned his face — and I accidentally touched his lips.

I was shocked. My face turned red.

"W-Why are you staring at me?" I shouted.

But he didn't react at all.

I sighed and wiped his mouth gently. "I only meant to clean your mouth, that's all…"

He stared. I stared.

Eye contact.

I couldn't handle the silence, so I put the pastry in his mouth — forcefully.

His expression changed, like he had been waiting for that the whole time.

He smiled and pointed at the pastry… then at his mouth —meaning he wanted more… and warning me not to make any fuss.

He turned his attention back to the drama.

And I… I fed him, just like he wanted.

When the drama ended, he stared at the screen like it was his lifeline.

His eyes turned wide and a little teary — then his face brightened. By then, I had fed him all the pastry.

He looked at me… suspiciously.

"Hey… who are you…?" he whispered.

I froze in that same position.

He didn't even know who I was — and yet he wasn't scared. Is he an idiot or what?

Such an idiot Lion found…

He lay down and rested his head on my lap, curling his legs.

Maybe he felt cold… I was about to bring a blanket, but—

He held my hand — softly.

His hand was warm… and cold at the same time.

"Don't leave me…" he murmured in his sleep.

So… I decided to stay by his side.

I started examining him quietly.

He was pale and skinny. His cheeks were chubby and his eyes were soft. He reminded me of a newborn baby…

He shifted in his sleep. His shirt lifted slightly, revealing his chest.

I controlled myself and turned my face away.

I shouldn't think like that.

But then… I glanced again. I just wanted to see him from near — that's all.

I noticed his red eyes and three moles —one on his cheek, one on his neck, and one on his chest.

My eyes kept drifting to the one on his neck…

I… licked it.

I don't even know why.

My face burned. I slapped myself lightly — my cheek turned red.

I tried to calm down.

Then I leaned back on the sofa and gently stroked his hair — this time on purpose.

I realized he wasn't in his usual self…He was drunk… and strangely peaceful.

I closed my eyes and smiled.

Soon, I also fell asleep…

But my heart kept beating fast in the silence.

TO BE CONTINUED.
