Chapter 11 - The Wise Owl Laughs At The Crowd

Five kilometers from the base, in an abandoned restaurant, the guards idle away their shift.

Aspera rubs Ospreys head pushing it between her legs as she grunts in slight discomfort, she slowly stops and signals him to get up from under the table.

She scoffs, "You're so bad at this."

Osprey rolls his eyes his feelings hurt. "Whatever, I'm no good at anything outside of fighting anyway."

Aspera now feels guilty "Aww baby that's not true..."

Crash*

Osprey jumps on top of Aspera, protecting her. Concrete slab and broken cement slam into his body he guards her with his life.

As the entire front half of the building is blown to pieces. The abandoned building was never in good shape, but its not like the other buildings were either. This entire state was almost like a wasteland. However for an entire half of a building to be destroyed like this… this firepower must be something serious.

A man walks through the rubble. A mysteriously pitched voice mumbles .

"He's right, he's not good at anything outside of fighting."

Coughing up dust and cement, his body coated in concrete dust, bruises, and blood, Osprey grits his teeth as he lifts the column off his back, still protecting Aspera he mumbles That voice… it has to be "Mori...."

As the mysterious man Mori leans against the rubble he waves signaling "Hel-lo, stranger

its

been

awhile

hasn't it?"

"You still space out your words like a child?" Osprey in pain holds back his laughter trying to take the serious situation… well serious.

Mori smiles jesterly, fully spinning his weapon as it releases steam cooling off.

Aspera in shock has never seen such destructive force in her entire life, she draws for her weapon however Osprey stops her. Taking a deep breath as he signals that he has to talk this one out this isn't a fight he can win at least not yet.

Mori squints his eyes at Aspera lowering his weapon, smiling as he mocks "Judging by his fighting style you would assume he'd be good at protecting people, but he's never been any good at that either."

Mori took a slow step forward, the sound of his boots crunching the debris beneath him punctuating the silence.

Mori knelt beside Aspera slowly raising the weapon, pressing it gently almost thoughtfully against the center of her head. Her body froze.

"Has he ever told you about his sister?" Mori whispered, his voice low and sarcastic.

"What a tragedy."

Mori glances at Osprey to see if he got offended by what he said but he kept his composure.

Mori looks closer at Aspera.

Mori's amusement just moments ago turns to disgust as he comes to a disturbing realization 'Talking about his sister? Why does she look just like his sister?'

Mori puts two and two together, getting up and walking toward Osprey; he pokes him in his overly muscular chest, looking straight up at the tall man's face.

"You are a sick, sick man."
