The bitter wind of Holden Pack territory cut through me the moment I stepped off the plane.

My body had grown soft from months in Cameron Stone Pack's mild climate. I'd almost forgotten the harsh bite of my birthplace.

"You're shivering," Elias observed, immediately unwinding his scarf. His hands were gentle as he wrapped the warm fabric around my throat. "The car will be here soon."

I stopped walking and managed a weak smile. "Holden wolves don't fear cold weather. Our warriors prove themselves by hunting barefoot in blizzards. You either return with enough kills or you're no true member of the pack."

His fingers tilted my face toward his, those steel-gray eyes holding mine captive. "You're not Holden Pack anymore. You carry my blood now, my strength, my name. Cameron Stone Pack is your home."

The truth hit me like a physical blow.
