Islas POV
The air had shifted. I could feel it like a storm brewing just beyond the horizon. Damian had grown quieter, more distinct and though he still smiled at me like something in his eyes had changed his expression was unreadable.
Alaric had always been clever, charming, calculated and now he was determined.
What I didn't know was that behind closed doors, a new alliance had been formed
Seraphina's POV
Alaric didn't like Isla because she was beautiful but because she was the one thing Damian seemed to truly care about. And that made her irresistible.
That is the main reason I have to get Alaric and Isla together so that I will have a chance with Damian
Alaric's POV
In dim light Seraphina filled two glasses with wine and handed it over to me. I took it with a smirk.
"So" she said swirling the glass "You've noticed it too huh"
I raised an eyebrow and said "That Damian is falling for Isla? Hard not to notice"
She tightened her lips and she said " Its a problem"
I then said in agreement "For both of us because you want Damian and I want Isla don't you think we should help ourselves"
She then raised an eyebrow saying "Are you saying that we should team up"
I then said "Exactly we need to remind Damian about who he truly is where he truly belongs"
I then said " Let's put this plan into place you stay around Damian always and I will distract Isla so that they can stay apart"
Then I clinked my glass against hers and said "Deal"
The next few days Seraphina began monopolizing Damian's time by inviting to long walk's telling him about her past even pretending defenselessness to draw him closer. She knew the right memories to stir up and the right jokes to tell.
Meanwhile I turned up my charm with Isla. I brought her rare flowers and told her stories about her travel and gave her a listening ear when she seemed unsure. With that I drew closer I was careful never too forward always just enough to make her question.
One evening she found herself with me alone in the library.
Isla's POV
"I don't know how but I found myself with Alaric in the Library"
He then broke the silence saying "You know" He said leaning on the bookshelf "Damian has always been the golden one the careful one but...….. I think careful isn't what you need" He said
I was stunned by what he said and then I asked "What do you mean by that"
He then answered and said "I'm saying" While stepping closer " Look in my own aspect i think you need...….. wilder" He said
"What does he mean by wilder and what does he mean by Damian being the Golden one there a lot of things I need to know about"
Damian's POV
"Isla has always been distant always been with Alaric"
As I thought to myself Seraphina walked in and said " You're thinking about her aren't you she's been distant lately"
I kept quiet to stir up uncertainty. I didn't know what to say so i decided to see Isla.
Isla's POV
" Alaric what did you mean by Damian was the Golden one"
I said waiting for an answer before Damian walked in and said "Isla can i talk to you" He said softly
Then I replied saying "Sure Alaric will discuss this later okay ill be right back"
As we got to the balcony he asked me saying "Isla why are you always around Alaric"
I then said looking confused "What are you trying to say"
He then said "You've always been around him like a fly"
I then said " Damian Alaris has been nothing but kind to me but you ever since Seraphina came along you have become distinct"
He then said furiously and also holding my arm tightly " I never became distinct you have been the one who became distinct we weren't like this we were close never apart please"
I then screamed "Let go Damian!!!!!!!"
Then Alaric rushed in and said "Let go bro"
Damian then said " Its all because of you that is why she drifted away"
I then said furiously "No its not!!!!!! Damian for Goodness sake you always take things like this whenever I want to talk to you your always with Seraphina and I cant just drive her away and another thing Alaric listens to me he helps me but you your none of the above your always away"
