Chapter 11 - The Darkened Jingliu

An unknown amount of time passed.

Victor felt his body was about to go numb.

Whether she was finally satisfied or simply tired, Jingliu at last came to a stop.

Victor, panting heavily, looked at Jingliu with some confusion.

"Huff... huff... Master, what's gotten into you today?"

"What? Don't you like it?"

Jingliu seemed to switch back to her original personality. With an indifferent expression, she pulled apart the bun at the back of her head, and her silver-white hair instantly cascaded down like silk.

"No, it's just..."

Victor swallowed, his mind involuntarily replaying Jingliu's incredibly wild appearance from moments ago.

But tonight, Jingliu had been extremely abnormal, so proactive and passionate that it frightened him.

Yet, at the same time as he was afraid, this extreme contrast also made him exceptionally fascinated.

"You seem quite energetic~ Let's continue."

Jingliu reached a hand down to probe, a suggestive smile instantly appearing on her face.

"I'm not, I don't..."

Victor instinctively wanted to retort, but suddenly, as if someone had pressed a pause button, he froze.

He suddenly noticed that, in the faint light of the night, Jingliu's eyes were emitting a strange red glow.

An ominous sense of crisis washed over him.

Jingliu was his most beloved master; he had observed her very carefully. Her eyes were a faint red, not particularly conspicuous.

But at this moment, Jingliu's eyes were like a pair of perfect rubies, shining brightly in the darkness.

He abruptly recalled his memories from before he transmigrated.

For most Xianzhou natives, the most common symptom of a Mara-struck outbreak was branches growing on their bodies.

But there were exceptions. Jingliu, for instance, her eyes would turn red, and her personality would change drastically, becoming more cold-blooded, bloodthirsty, and capricious.

The Jingliu before him clearly fit this description!!

She has become Mara-struck!

Jingliu immediately noticed Victor's abnormal reaction.

Jingliu placed a finger on her lips and smiled faintly, her allure instantly blossoming.

"Oh my~ My dear disciple, you've found me out~"

Then, Jingliu leaned down, close to Victor's ear.

"Baiheng is already dead..."

Jingliu used the most intimate of postures, yet spoke words that sent a chill through Victor's entire body.

This sentence seemed to completely shatter some kind of shackle on Jingliu. Victor could clearly feel a frenzied killing intent surge out from within her, sweeping over him like a tsunami.

This killing intent was so sharp, so cold, that it made his whole body feel as if it were frozen solid, unable to move an inch.

I was careless!

Victor was filled with regret.

In his memories, Jingliu was supposed to have her Mara-struck outbreak only after Dan Feng and Yingxing created the draconic abomination, forcing her to personally slay it, which dealt a massive blow to her psyche.

According to his original plan, he could have just made an excuse to leave the Luofu during that time and return after Jingliu's duel with Jing Yuan and subsequent disappearance.

He never imagined that because of him, Jingliu had been "tuned" and toyed with for so long, enduring immense psychological pressure. As a result, Baiheng's death in battle had prematurely induced her Mara-struck outbreak.

This was a classic case of being blinded by lust.

Alas, it was only because Master Jingliu was too captivating, leaving him unable to stop, lost in his desires.

Not only had Jingliu completely shed her weakness, but she had also been corrupted. At this moment, she had no more restraints and could go on a killing spree.

In other words, Victor was dead meat this time!

Jingliu straddled Victor, looking down on him condescendingly. Her gaze was mocking and cruel, with a hint of bloodthirsty madness deep within her eyes.

Victor easily read her thoughts. Right now, Jingliu was like a cat that had caught a mouse. She wasn't in a hurry to kill him; instead, she planned to torment him viciously to avenge the great humiliation of being "tuned" by him.

"Do you have anything else to say? My 'good little disciple'?"

Victor laughed.

Since I'm going to die anyway, why should I let you have your way?

It's just a simulation, after all.

"Master, for so long, this disciple has held something in his heart. Today, I can finally say it."

Perhaps feeling she was in complete control of the situation, Jingliu wasn't in a rush to kill him.

"Oh? Let's hear it."

"Master, has no one ever told you? You're... very... wet~"

Victor began to laugh wildly while shamelessly placing his hand on Jingliu's thigh and stroking it.

Victor had just felt a smooth and warm sensation from his palm.

Puchi!

"Die!!"

Victor's last words seemed to have touched Jingliu's last nerve. She struck in an instant, beheading him with a single sword stroke.

As if that wasn't enough to vent her anger, Jingliu pressed her hand directly onto Victor's chest, pouring her chilling lunar power into his corpse.

In an instant, countless ice shards formed into thorns and erupted from within Victor's body, tearing his corpse to pieces on the spot.

"Heeheehee! Hehehe! Hahahaha!"

Looking at Victor's mangled corpse, Jingliu threw her head back and laughed maniacally.

As she laughed, large teardrops began to stream from the corners of her eyes...

Jingliu laughed and cried like a madwoman. Of course, the already-slain Victor couldn't see this scene.

Exiting Reality Mode, just as Victor thought he would have to start all over again, the system gave a new notification.

[This simulation has met the completion criteria. Evaluating... Evaluation complete. Rating obtained: C!]

[Minimum completion criteria met. Obtained Trait: "Steady Accumulation (White)".]

Victor carefully reviewed the information and immediately felt some regret.

If he had just played it safe at the end, he probably could have gotten a B-rank evaluation.

After all, it's always the villain who toys with others. Being killed in retaliation is quite a downgrade for a villain.

Next time, I must be more cautious and not give them a chance to turn the tables!

Victor thought to himself.

Then, Victor began to take stock of his gains from this simulation.

"Steady Accumulation" was undoubtedly a quality Trait with great future potential.

A Trait like this, with no bottleneck and capable of providing a constant stream of positive feedback, was practically an essential skill for a grinder-type player.

As for the C-rank evaluation obtained from completing the simulation, according to the system, it could be used to either exchange for a Blue Trait or to upgrade an existing Trait's quality to Blue.

Similar to many RPGs, an E-rank evaluation corresponded to a White Trait, D-rank to Green, and going up, C, B, A, and S corresponded to Blue, Purple, Gold, and Red, respectively.

Victor hesitated for a moment but decided to save the C-rank evaluation for now.

Keeping the C-rank evaluation would allow him to prepare for the next simulation and adapt as needed.

After completing this simulation scenario, the system then unlocked the intermediate-level scenario related to Jingliu.

Having nothing better to do, and since dying in a simulation wasn't permanent, Victor ignored the system's warning and directly chose the intermediate-difficulty instance.
