Chapter 13 - Quiet Changes

Once things were settled and the principal left, the crowd of students slowly began to disperse.

Rong Xingyu tugged at the still-fuming Qian Zhijun and walked away with him, leaving Lin Yutong standing alone with head bowed, lost in thought.

Not far away, another boy sat back down at his table.

His friend across from him clicked his tongue in disbelief. "That really was Rong Xingyu, right? Young Master Ding, did I see that correctly?"

Ding Wei said nothing for a long moment.

He also wanted to say the same thing as him, was that really him?

Just now, when that cup of milk tea went flying toward Rong Xingyu, Ding Wei had instinctively jumped up from his seat. He had almost rushed over before he could even think.

When the principal arrived, Ding Wei stopped where he was.

"Wow, so that's what Rong Xingyu really looks like? He's so good looking, he looked like a little angel! I can't believe I didn't notice before when he used to dress so badly."

"I swear, when I saw his face just now, my heart skipped a beat. Ugh, is this what falling for someone feels like?"

Ding Wei suddenly found his friend's chatter extremely annoying. His face darkened as he slammed his chopsticks onto the table.

"Shut up and eat."

Upstairs in the cafeteria, the principal walked back to the second floor. He passed through a few tall bamboo decorations and stopped in a quiet corner beside Ding Yixin.

The man had been standing there since earlier, his gaze fixed in the distance.

"Chairman Ding," the principal said carefully, "this was a failure in our school's management…"

He felt extremely nervous, it was rare for the school's biggest investor to come inspect in person, only to witness such an unpleasant scene.

When the man's expression had turned cold a moment ago, the principal had thought his career might be over right then and there.

Thankfully, he had reacted fast enough and gone downstairs to handle the matter before it got worse.

Ding Yixin lightly tapped his fingers twice against the railing, then said something that sounded completely unrelated, "Prepare a medical room for me."

The principal blinked his eyes in confusion. "…Huh?"

...

Rong Zhenqiao rarely got distracted during work. But now, he put down the report in his hands and walked to the tall window while looking out over the entire CBD below.

These past few days, his troublesome little brother had been unusually quiet. Ever since moving out, he hadn't caused a single stir.

The people at the villa had reported that Rong Xingyu had dyed his hair back to black, packed away all those outrageous clothes and started going to school properly every day, he looked like a completely different person.

Rong Zhenqiao rubbed his temples.

Suddenly, his phone rang. The caller ID showed an unfamiliar landline number.

He picked up. "Third brother?"

"Mm." The voice on the other end was cool and calm, mixed with faint background noises. "I was in the lab earlier and couldn't answer. What's wrong?"
