Chapter 19 - Enhancements

"Alright, gene enhancement is complete. You can come out now."

As Zeke's voice faded, all the gene training pods opened, and out walked the 500 Imperial Guards he had personally created.

Though called 500 Imperial Guards, they should actually have another name: Human Assault Team.

Through Zeke's efforts, he successfully obtained a Human Assault Team army from the year 2300, as specified in the STC template .

The Human Assault Team is the basic ground combat unit of the Terran Dominion.

They are also the backbone of the Dominion's ground forces.

Compared to the so-called giant war-body legions, the Psykic Legion/Force, the Battle Sister legions, the Valkyrie legions, and the Imperial Guard legions exclusively used by the Dominion Emperor, these Human Assault Team units, while having no particular advantages, excel in their fundamental nature.

The biggest benefit that comes from being fundamental is that it is sufficiently cheap.

After all, only fundamental things are truly cheap, aren't they?

This advantage also holds true for Zeke at this moment; although the 500 Human Assault Team soldiers he currently possesses cannot be described as a legion, at most they are two companies of soldiers, the deterrent power they exude was already felt by Zeke the moment they stepped out.

Based on an Ultramarine he had personally witnessed before, a single chainsword strike from one of his ordinary Assault Team members would be enough to dispatch an Ultramarine.

From this perspective, Zeke felt that the Space Marines he had personally created probably had a combat effectiveness not far off from the Emperor's Imperial Guards.

Looking at the gene-enhanced warriors he had personally forged, Zeke was very satisfied, and he nodded in approval.

"Very good, you are now qualified warriors. For the time being, remain here and hone your combat skills in the virtual pods, maximizing your strength. Go now."

"Yes, sir," the 500 gene-enhanced warriors began to follow Zeke's orders, heading towards the virtual pods. They needed to adapt to their bodies first; otherwise, the sudden surge of power would prevent them from performing at their best.

Following this, the other 10,000 ordinary soldiers waiting at the entrance also began to enter the gene clinic, as Zeke prepared to complete enhancements for all of them.

Genetic modification is necessary, as they will soon face chaos. However, it is unfortunate that the STC template does not specify how to deal with chaos issues.

Within the vast sea of technology described in the STC template, there was no information regarding chaos.

Throughout the entire template, they only mentioned four petty traders in the Warp, and some relatively powerful psychic entities, but no matter how powerful those psychic entities were, they eventually fell before the Terran Dominion's fleet.

The Warp is safe; there are no items or creatures in the Warp that pose a threat to humanity, so there is no need to research anything to combat chaos corruption or the like.

When Zeke saw the STC template's description of the Warp, he could only remark, "Awesome!"

Beyond that, he had no other options. After all, they had already stated that the Warp was safe, so naturally, they wouldn't research anything targeting chaos. As for the effectiveness of existing technology against chaos, he would have to investigate that himself.

However, the only thing that brought Zeke comfort was that throughout the entire record, he found no indication of any humans being corrupted by chaos.

Therefore, theoretically, these technologically enhanced elite warriors should also have a high resistance to chaos.

Compared to the 500 Imperial Guards he had just created, the gene enhancement for these 10,000 individuals was much simpler.

Although his current equipment was still somewhat rudimentary, with this set of equipment and the part of the Mechanicus Legion he had already created, he could have these Mechanicus help him with the gene enhancement project for his 10,000 subordinates.

However, despite saying that, by the time he completed it, only 20 days remained until the family's expedition.

After completing the enhancements for his subordinates, Zeke stepped out of his asteroid base for the first time during this period, and what met his eyes was a large number of calls.

Of these, 20% were from his father, and 40% were from his mother.

5% were from his students, and 5% were from other elders within his family.

Another 5% were from people he dealt with for various other matters, and the remaining 25% were from his retinue knights.

Undoubtedly, as the heir to the high king of a family, this naturally meant that when he became a knight, retinue knights would follow him.

These retinue knights are young members of the family who learn and gain experience by becoming retinue knights, preparing to become full knights in the future.

As the heir of a knight house like Zeke, he has six retinue knights under his command.

His retinue knights are equipped with six retinue knight titans, specifically the Bladeguard type and the Lancer type.

The Bladeguard type is equipped with meltaspears and Reaper chainswords, suitable for close combat and rapid assaults.

The Lancer Retinue type is equipped with autocannons, suitable for long-range suppressive fire.

Retinue knight titans are not as massive as full knight titans; their size is generally smaller.

Most of these titans are only about 20 meters tall, making them the smallest knight titan models in the Imperium of Man.

It was clear that those Retinue knights were the guards the family had prepared for Zeke, forming a combat team.

Of course, in addition to these Retinue knights, Zeke naturally also possessed his own knight titan, which was a Paladin.

This is one of the most common knight titans, possessing powerful firepower and defensive capabilities.

The Paladin is equipped with a meltagun, a vassal heavy bolter, a rapid-fire battle cannon, and a Reaper chainsword.

This knight titan is a prime example of balanced speed, firepower, and protection, making it very suitable for an heir.

Zeke's knight combat team consists of six Retinue knight titans and his own knight titan.

Theoretically, other auxiliary forces should be prepared by the retinue knights, and his Retinue knights had indeed gone to prepare them.

However, Zeke was different from other heirs; he had instead prepared auxiliary forces for himself.

He glanced at the long list in his communicator, eventually choosing to first report his safety to his parents. After chatting with them for a while, he hung up.

Then, he glanced at his student in the Adeptus Mechanicus, sent him a message, and dismissed him.

As for business matters elsewhere, those were merely reports. Zeke quickly skimmed through them and then closed them.

After dealing with all these matters, he then redirected his attention to his Retinue knights.

"Everyone, bring your retinue titans and gather at my Royal Court in two days. Bring your auxiliary forces with you then."
