Chapter 28 - It's a mess

The powerful army successfully surrounded the entire Khorne legion. Although a large number of demons charged out from the Khorne legion, their basic troops had no chance of surviving a second round of attacks against Zeke's personal guard.

Ordinary Bloodletters couldn't withstand a single round of plasma fire, and the same was true for cavalry composed of Bloodletters and Flesh Hounds.

Khorne's faction had almost no room for resistance when facing Zeke's army, after all, who told them they liked close combat?

Close combat?

I'm already a stellaris civilization, and you still want me to fight in close combat?

Do you think I enjoy boarding actions?

Zeke's mindset had gradually calmed down from its initial tension.

The Khorne armies that had appeared so far were too weak; they were no match for his own forces.

Facing the full encirclement and suppression by his own army, these Khorne forces had no room for resistance.

In fact, while watching his own army engage in battle, Zeke even had the leisure to observe the movements of the entire planet.

Speaking of this observation system, one has to mention the difference between the Yaeger knight house's knight titans and those of other knight houses.

Thanks to the lingering benefits of the Golden Age, the knight house's reconnaissance systems were extremely powerful.

At the same time, Zeke's knight titan had been strengthened in scanning and detection; his detection system could even directly scan one-tenth of the hive world's surface.

So, when his father, Grisha, appeared behind him with the family's knights, Zeke was slightly shocked.

How did his family's knight titans get here?

It felt like a Warp jump. If he remembered correctly, the Imperium of Man didn't seem to have such technology, did it?

However, compared to his shock, his father, Grisha, and the family's knights were even more astonished.

What did they see?

They had originally thought they were coming to rescue their heir, but what met their eyes was not their heir's army surrounded by Khorne's legion.

Instead, it looked like their heir was commanding an army to eliminate the Khorne invasion.

Those 'cans' one by one – these knights, unlike their junior, could tell what they were. They immediately recognized them as Space Marines!

At the same time, they also saw the 500 golden-armored Emperor's Custodes surrounding their heir.

If they weren't mistaken, those should be the Custodes!

For a moment, they couldn't figure out what had happened. Why were the Custodes, who always guarded the Imperial Palace on Terra, here?

And what was the situation with these more than ten thousand Astartes? How could there be so many Space Marines here?

If they remembered correctly, ever since the codex astartes, that piece of throne paper, was issued, space marine chapters were not supposed to exceed 1000 men.

What the hell were these 10,000 Space Marines they found on the field? This clearly exceeded the size of a chapter; this was a Legion of Astartes.

The knights of the knight house were all dumbfounded, and even Zeke's father, Grisha, the well-traveled high king of the knight house, was equally stunned.

This was his son. Where did his son get so many Space Marines, and how could there be Custodes guarding him?

Confusion enveloped everyone's hearts, but just as they were still pondering, the chaos Space Marines on the opposite side no longer hesitated.

Although the situation was a little bit over the top, and although they certainly couldn't win against the enemy, they were, after all, Khorne's chaos Warriors!

Khorne's warriors never retreat!

"Blood for the blood god!" Gorgorath suddenly let out a hysterical roar, his twin axes crashing together, sending out dazzling sparks.

"Even if we die, we must let these lackeys of the False Emperor witness true combat!"

Three hundred world Eaters Berserkers roared in unison. The blessings of chaos within them were fully activated, their muscles swelled, blood seeped from the gaps in their armor, and their eyes were completely consumed by a crimson glow.

Khorne's blessings made them temporarily forget fear, leaving only an endless desire for slaughter.

"Waaagh!!!"

To everyone's surprise, a unique ork war cry suddenly echoed across the battlefield.

At the edge of the Warp rift, a group of green-skinned orks appeared out of nowhere. Wielding crude weapons, they excitedly charged towards the center of the battlefield.

"Gork be with us!" The leading ork Warboss raised his power klaw, "We've arrived just in time!"

Zeke watched this scene dumbfounded: "Where did these orks come from?!"

At this moment, Zeke was truly shocked by the current battle.

If he remembered correctly, his initial plan was to eradicate these orks, wasn't it?

Then, while the ork eradication was going well, these orks suddenly performed a chaos ritual and summoned the armies of the Abaddon. Well, then it became a direct fight with chaos.

Zeke couldn't be bothered to care about how these orks performed a chaos ritual; he only knew that everything was a mess right now.

As he was commanding his troops to slaughter Khorne's demon forces, another group of orks appeared next to them?

Such a convoluted battle left Zeke somewhat speechless; it was a bit absurd.

He could only say that if he had the Colossus from his stellaris game, he would have already wanted to use a world Cracker to blow up this planet.

There was really no need for this planet to continue existing; it was too ridiculous... Lissa quickly brought up the scan data: "Sir, they dug their way out from underground! These orks have dug through the entire planet's crust!"

Before Zeke could say anything, his father, Grisha, spoke up angrily.

"Who was responsible for eradicating the orks on this planet a few years ago? Step forward and give me a good explanation of what's going on!"

"These damned orks have almost dug through the planet, and you tell me what you've been doing with your annual eradications."

Grisha was furious; he was truly furious now. If his son didn't have the Emperor's Custodes and Space Marines he saw before him, and only relied on his retinue, wouldn't he have already died under the attacks of these chaos and orks?

Would he have lost his son, and would his family have lost an excellent heir?

These questions undoubtedly surged into Grisha's mind, and the elders of the knight house who had come to support Zeke with Grisha also understood this critical issue.

To be honest, they were indeed satisfied with Zeke as an heir. He was elegant in his demeanor and, under the family's tutelage, excelled at everything.

More importantly, they recently heard that the Forge Master of the Adeptus Mechanicus had even become their heir's disciple and student. Although they didn't know if this was true or false, just the rumor alone was astonishing enough.

Although their House Yaeger didn't need the Adeptus Mechanicus to do anything for them, why not have one more ally?

Therefore, almost all the clan elders were very satisfied with Zeke as an heir.

They believed that the family, under Zeke's leadership, would never decline. Even if it couldn't advance further, there was no possibility of decline, and that was enough!

And now, just moments ago, their family's heir was almost gone, and these orks had appeared again!

They also ignored the orks that had already appeared on the battlefield and instead turned to look at the other people among the more than 1000 knight titans, to see who was responsible for eradicating the orks.
