Chapter 86 - Crisis Strikes Again

Facing the whistling metal fists, Tang San fully utilized the advantage of his Ghost Shadow Stealth Steps in dodging and weaving, moving with composure while still ensuring the people behind him could advance steadily.

When a team faces a complex and dangerous situation, the performance of the leader is crucial. An excellent leader can, through their own actions, instill a firm belief in victory in the teammates following behind.

Tang San was doing very well at this. He continuously led everyone forward at a steady pace.

This pace neither caused students with weaker physical abilities or dodging skills to lag behind the main group, nor slowed the team down so much that it would trigger the acceleration effect of the metal fists.

Oscar, at the rear of the group, estimated his own pace and realized that if no other difficult-to-handle situations appeared in this mechanized corridor, traversing this one-kilometer stretch would take roughly a dozen minutes.

Reality seemed to confirm his estimation. Over a distance of two hundred meters, the advancing students did not encounter any other types of mechanized Spirit Conduits.

Everyone gradually relaxed as they became more accustomed to the attack speed of the metal fists.

But this sense of ease lasted less than twenty seconds before vanishing completely.

Without any warning, countless nozzles appeared on the tunnel walls on either side of the narrow metal bridge. Before anyone could even figure out their purpose, high-pressure water jets blocked the entire space, spraying straight at them. Unprepared, the students were caught off guard.

The impact of the water destabilized each student's balance, while the rapidly accumulating water on the bridge made their feet slip. The splashing water, spreading like a torrential downpour, not only obstructed the already limited vision but also interfered with other senses.

Under such powerful interference, the attacks of the metal fists, which had been gradually getting adapted to, became extremely threatening once more.

Although Tang San immediately stopped moving—taking the risk of accelerating the metal fists' attacks—everyone else struggled wildly.

In just ten seconds, the narrow metal bridge echoed with more than a dozen collisions of fists against flesh, interspersed with groans and cries of pain from the students.

When Oscar, relying on his sharp perception enhanced by active spiritual energy, finally survived this round of high-pressure water jets and regained his vision, he saw a tragic scene.

Including himself, only three students remained standing on the metal bridge.

The other two were: Tang San—whose dodging ability needs no introduction—and Xiao Wu, whose flexible body allowed her to perform extreme dodges. Moreover, if Oscar's guess was correct, Xiao Wu's Rabbit Spirit possessed excellent hearing, and sound-based positional skills were likely her innate talent.

A full minute later, the remaining members all returned to the bridge. At this point, Oscar could clearly feel the attack speed of the metal fists had increased.

Tang San, at the lead, had noticed this too. He did not dare linger longer. Leading everyone, he pushed forward at top speed. If they could not leave this area before the nozzles sprayed again, the situation would spiral into a vicious cycle.

Two minutes later, the group had clumsily exited the water jet zone, silently praying no new hazards would appear in the corridor. Their recent struggle had left everyone breathing heavily—a clear sign of extreme physical exertion.

But would Flandre and the Master really act as everyone expected? The answer, of course, was no.

Just as Tang San glimpsed the end of the metal bridge, an unexpected event occurred. In the middle of the group, Oscar's feet were suddenly propelled off the bridge, sending him flying into the air.

The force was so great that Oscar nearly reached the top of the tunnel within two seconds. The vines tied around his waist snapped in two, no longer providing any protection.

The space above the metal bridge was still within the metal fists' attack range. With no way to dodge in midair, Oscar seemed destined to be struck and have his trajectory altered.

Losing the protective vines, it became extremely difficult for Oscar to return to the bridge.

The most likely scenario everyone could imagine was Oscar being hit by a fist and falling into the viscous soap-water below, waiting for rescue.

Tang San, momentarily distracted by sighting the endpoint, was pulled back by Oscar's screams.

But even Tang San at the front of the group, without using his spirit power or martial spirit, was powerless in this situation.

Watching Oscar reach the apex and start rapidly descending under gravity, the other students' expressions were grim.

However, if they could see Oscar's face midair, their expressions might soften. Calm and untroubled, there was no panic on his face.

Initially, Oscar was indeed anxious and slightly fearful when launched. But the moment he screamed, he received a mental link from Oscar Xin.

The message instantly calmed his mind, allowing him to face his predicament rationally.

Within just two blinks of an eye, Oscar fell into the attack range of the metal fists. Facing a horizontal metal fist ready to knock him aside, he barely managed to curl his body and raise his legs, successfully dodging.

Continuing to fall, Oscar encountered another fist sweeping horizontally. Seeing its trajectory, his eyes glimmered. Taking a deep breath, he forcefully kicked the fist with both legs.

A muffled grunt escaped his throat. Though he had prepared for this and acted voluntarily, the sheer force of the metal fist still made him struggle to withstand it.

From the bridge came exclamations. While the students couldn't see Oscar's movements clearly, they saw his figure overlap with the fist, then shoot toward the rear of the group—clearly struck by the metal fist.

At the front, Tang San's violet, sparkling eyes flashed with a hint of doubt: "Was that intentional? Why?"

The next moment, he noticed Oscar Xin at the rear of the group. A look of realization crossed Tang San's face, but it was immediately replaced by even stronger confusion.

"Oscar's move was so decisive. Does he really trust that Xin has prepared to rescue him? I'm certain they exchanged no overt communication. From Oscar's position, he couldn't have seen Xin's actions. Could the deep trust and tacit understanding between twins really reach this level?"

Midair Oscar and rear-positioned Xin, unaware of Tang San's thoughts, were both fully focused on escaping the crisis.

Using the mental link, Xin concentrated intensely on Oscar's movements, silently calculating time and position.

The instant Oscar's motion changed from descending to horizontal, Xin's focus sharpened beyond anything before, as if he could see a second into the future.
