Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

My name is Rudeus.

It has been two years since I came to this world.

I haven't been doing well here.

I could have done so many things I always wanted to do but couldn't, simply by being a baby.

But that damned shota, oh no, that damned brat, has repeatedly stopped me.

Today, I'm going to make him pay for humiliating this great me.

With that thought, he tiptoed towards Luo Ya's room. The door wasn't fully closed. He quietly pushed it open, and it made no sound at all.

Just like that, he suddenly burst into the room and saw a scene that shocked him.

The pretty little shota's fair and slender fingers held a dagger, which was entirely black, formed by countless intertwined black threads.

When he pushed the door open and entered, Luo Ya coldly looked at the blond brat in front of him.

The demonic blade on his finger spun like a butterfly knife in a beautiful motion, leaving trails of black in the air.

"So cool," Rudeus muttered, lost in thought.

However, a gaze devoid of any emotion turned towards him.

"Rudeus, don't you know to knock?"

Luo Ya's voice was calm and elegant, and though childish, it carried a faint authority.

Rudeus waved his chubby little hand, wanting to explain something.

But after meeting that clear gaze, he inexplicably lowered his head and said, "I'm sorry."

A sigh came, and Luo Ya continued, "Don't do it again." He waved his hand, signaling Rudeus to get out.

However, Rudeus was very curious about the scene he had just witnessed. He asked Luo Ya, "Brother Luo Ya, was that magic you just used?"

Luo Ya nodded indifferently.

Rudeus asked curiously, "What kind of magic is that? Why didn't you chant?"

Ever since Rudeus learned about the existence of supernatural powers in this world at the age of one, he had been studying magic and practicing his magic power. He had already reached a level where he could barely cast intermediate magic, and he had even figured out a way to cast magic without chanting.

Luo Ya's lips curved upwards, which Rudeus interpreted as a sneer. But Luo Ya teased, "Who told you that casting magic requires chanting?"

Rudeus was stunned. He stammered, "But don't all the books say you have to chant a very, very long incantation?"

Luo Ya glanced at him and said, "How could magic be such an inconvenient thing? Do you really believe what those useless mages in the books say? If they can't figure it out themselves, can't you find a way? Just listen to it, but don't take it seriously."

Rudeus fell silent. He looked at his four-year-old, rosy-cheeked older brother in front of him. He opened his mouth to say something, but in the end, said nothing.

His self-esteem had been bruised. He had thought his talent was strong after reincarnation, but he hadn't expected his brother to be even more monstrous.

After a moment of dejection, he heard Luo Ya continue to explain, "This is a technique I developed. I call it Demonic Sword."

Rudeus's eyes lit up. He cautiously asked, "Um, can I learn it?"

Luo Ya was not at all surprised that Rudeus had been secretly training his magic power. He thought for a moment and pondered, "How is your control over magic power?"

"It's alright."

"Can you condense magic power?"

"Yes, I can," Rudeus nodded.

Luo Ya then said, "Don't turn it into various elements like wind, fire, water, or earth. Magic power is just magic power. Just keep compressing it, and try to condense it continuously."

Rudeus frowned, and soon his face turned pale. He sighed, "No, my magic power isn't enough. The amount required for this technique is too great."

Luo Ya waved his hand and sighed, "It seems you can't do it."

Those two words, 'can't do it,' pierced Rudeus's chest like a sharp sword.

In an instant, Rudeus's face flushed red. He looked at the indifferent little shota in front of him. Although he still wore no expression, Rudeus had reason to believe this guy was deliberately teasing him.

Looking at the bright weather outside, the unique high temperature of summer, and the white clouds constantly swirling in the blue sky, Luo Ya thought for a moment and said, "Let's go out."

Hearing the words 'go out,' Rudeus instinctively shivered. He wanted to refuse, but before he could speak, he heard Luo Ya's cold voice: "Of course, this is a command, not a question."

Rudeus forced a grim smile. He looked at Luo Ya and said, "Why do we have to go out? It's so hot outside, and it's so cool at home. Why should we go out and bask in the sun?"

Luo Ya didn't speak; he just stared at him.

Rudeus swallowed. He met that gaze of death, but the words 'let's go out together' just wouldn't come out.

Ultimately, he was forcibly dragged out the door. He said to Lilia, "I'm going out," and then went out with a crestfallen Rudeus.

The world outside was actually beautiful. Today's temperature wasn't scorching, and a gentle breeze brought a hint of coolness to them both. Just outside the door were golden rice and wheat fields, where farmers were working, and children their age were playing. Rudeus looked at all of this with a slight sense of fear.

Even after two years, the trauma in his heart had not healed. He was a timid person by nature.

The next moment, a warm hand took Rudeus's small hand. Rudeus was momentarily stunned. He looked up in a panic and saw a faint smile on Luo Ya's lips.

Like the spring sun, like the autumn breeze, the smile was light but very beautiful.

The dazzling sunlight shone on his golden hair, which, long and radiant, swayed with the breeze. His eyes were always so calm, as serene as a clear spring.

For some reason, Rudeus was somewhat mesmerized.

Luo Ya led the shut-in to the golden rice stalks. He said softly, "Reach out."

Rudeus reached out. Luo Ya raised his hand to the rice stalks. The golden stalks swayed in the wind, their full grains so dazzling. Rudeus's fingers lightly brushed against the golden rice, feeling a ticklish sensation in his hand. Seeing a tiny insect crawling on a stalk, he felt a little dazed.

He felt a little lost. Rudeus met Luo Ya's gaze. Those eyes were clear and bright, as if they could see into people's hearts. With just one look, Rudeus felt that everything about him had been seen through by those eyes.

Luo Ya slowly said, "Though I don't know what you're afraid of, life is only once. Your health, your mission, and the people you love are the most important."

Rudeus stared at him blankly. That handsome face was illuminated by the dim, yellow light, appearing so sacred.

At this moment, Rudeus listed his older brother as his god.

Roxy's divine position was taken by Luo Ya.
