Power System of Ardentis: The Loom and the Spirits
1. The Loom of Magic
All magic in the world is woven from the Loom, an invisible network of threads that binds reality together.
Every thread represents an aspect of existence — flame, memory, emotion, time, even death.
Those who can touch and manipulate these threads are called Weavers.
> Weaving is the act of altering the Loom to shape reality.
Weavers draw Threads from the Loom using will, emotion, and mana.
---
2. The Seven Spirit Orders
The Loom's power flows through seven primal forces known as Spirit Orders, each born from a fundamental aspect of existence.
Spirit Order Domain Core Emotion Example Abilities
Flame Destruction & Passion Wrath Fire conjuring, combustion sigils
Aqua Healing & Flow Compassion Water shaping, regeneration magic
Terra Endurance & Creation Resolve Stone shaping, fortification fields
Aether Knowledge & Perception Curiosity Telepathy, illusion, foresight
Umbra Death & Shadow Grief Necromancy, fear manipulation
Zephyr Freedom & Motion Joy Wind control, flight, speed
Spirit (War) Will & Conflict Courage Weapon manifestation, soul resonance
Each student at Ardentis Academy is attuned to one of these Orders, determined by the Thread Resonance Ritual — except Kael Varion, whose existence defies the system itself.
---
⚔️ 3. Spirit Resonance
Every Weaver possesses a Resonance Core, a crystal-like organ within the soul that determines how many threads they can control.
Resonance Level (rankings):
1. Threadling – Can touch a single thread (basic spellcaster).
2. Woven Adept – Weaves multiple threads into complex forms.
3. Pattern Master – Creates new combinations (fusion spells).
4. Loombreaker – Can rewrite the laws of existing spells.
5. Spirit Ascendant – Synchronizes with one of the primal Spirits.
---
4. The Emotional Law
The Loom responds not only to mana but also to emotion.
The purer the emotion behind a spell, the stronger it becomes — but also the more unstable.
For instance:
Wrath empowers Flame, but burns the user's body.
Love strengthens Spirit magic, but blurs the line between creation and destruction.
Grief fuels Umbra, but corrodes the soul.
