Chapter 151: The resurrection stone in the Forbidden Forest, Experimental Data from 1926, and the Soul's Anchor
Morrin leaned closer to Harry, his voice low:
"...That wand will be influenced by me, and with the existence of that Horcrux inside you..."
"Harry, you won't die."
The light of wisdom from the Gate of Truth flickered in Morrin's eyes:
"That Killing Curse will kill the fragment of Lord Voldemort's soul within you, but it won't kill you."
"You will go to a place. Then, you can choose to come back."
Harry's heart began to pound violently.
"You mean... I can survive?"
"Most likely." Morrin shrugged. "As long as you don't choose to board a train and leave in that world."
"Now, go."
Morrin gave Harry a push.
"Go to the Forbidden Forest. Go face him."
"Lord Voldemort is currently immersed in the illusion of invincibility. That is when he is most vulnerable."
"The moment you fall..."
Morrin gripped his cane tightly:
"...that will be the signal for me to lead your friends in the final assault."
Harry took a deep breath.
He no longer felt despair.
Although he was going to "die," he knew there was a vast net supporting him from behind.
"Thank you, Morrin."
Harry placed the bottle containing the memories on the table.
"If I come back... I'll pay you back those 85 Galleons."
"Including interest, it's 100 Galleons now."
A red light flashed in the office; Morrin stood up, brushed off some dust, and smiled as he watched Harry leave.
The office door closed.
Harry donned his invisibility cloak and walked toward the Forbidden Forest.
The smile on Morrin's face vanished.
He looked out the window.
Dawn was approaching.
"System."
[Current Draw Count: 30]
[Final Target: Lord Voldemort (Law Level · Dark ArtsOrigin)]
"Alfred."
"I am here, Young Master."
"Notify all units. Including the airships in the sky, the werewolves underground, and..."
Morrin walked out of the Principal's office, his black trench coat billowing behind him like clouds.
"the savior has gone to sacrifice himself."
"Now, it's our turn to—harvest the victory."
The darkness before dawn.
Harry Potter walked alone on the path into the Forbidden Forest.
His heart was racing, but his steps were unusually heavy.
He knew he was walking toward death, or perhaps he wouldn't die.
He took the golden snitch out of his pocket, pressed his lips against it, and whispered:
"I am about to die."
The golden snitch cracked open.
A black, prism-shaped stone fell into his palm.
resurrection stone.
Harry turned the stone three times.
James, Lily... the ghosts of his parents appeared beside him.
"Is this also part of your plan, Morrin?" Harry looked at the phantoms of his parents, the face of that Slytherin youth suddenly flashing in his mind.
Morrin had left the resurrection stone for Dumbledore, and it had finally ended up in his own hands.
And high up in the Forbidden Forest, at the top of a massive ancient oak tree.
Morrin White was wearing that alchemy mask, draped in a cloak made of Demiguise Fur, blending into the night.
He activated True Sight, coldly watching the boy below walking toward the execution ground.
"He's using the resurrection stone." Alfred's voice sounded in the earpiece. "Young Master, are you sure Harry can survive? That is the Killing Curse, after all."
"If it were an ordinary Killing Curse, he would be dead for sure."
Morrin's fingers lightly tapped the tree trunk, his thoughts instantly returning to New York in 1926.
"Do you remember that boy named Credence, Alfred?"
"I remember. The Obscurial."
"An obscurus is a parasitic magic that lives in symbiosis with its host. To kill an obscurus usually kills the host as well," Morrin said softly. "Back in New York, I conducted hundreds of alchemy experiments to separate them."
"Although the technology wasn't mature then, I discovered a 'Soul Anchor Theory'."
Morrin looked at Harry's back below:
"Harry's situation is exactly the same as Credence's. Lord Voldemort's soul fragment is the 'obscurus' parasitizing his body."
"In that bottle of Blood-Replenishing Potion I gave Harry, there wasn't just an antidote."
A sharp glint flashed in Morrin's eyes:
"I added a dose of Soul Stabilizer—a formula improved based on the 1926 research results. It can nail Harry's own soul firmly to his physical body like a spike."
"So..."
Morrin looked toward the firelight deep in the Forbidden Forest; it was the Death Eaters' camp.
"...When the Killing Curse hits Harry, that destructive power will prioritize seeking out 'unstable souls' to obliterate."
"Harry's soul has been 'nailed' down by me. But Lord Voldemort's soul fragment..."
"...is drifting."
"This is a surgical procedure. Lord Voldemort is the lead surgeon, the elder wand is the scalpel, and I..."
Morrin clenched his fist:
"...am the Dean who devised the surgical plan."
Below, Harry had already reached the edge of the camp.
He opened his hand, and the resurrection stone rolled into the grass.
He didn't want Lord Voldemort to get his hands on this stone.
"Go, Harry," Morrin said softly. "Go fulfill your mission."
...The Death Eater camp.
Lord Voldemort stood in the center of the clearing, surrounded by Death Eaters. Hagrid was tied to a tree, struggling in despair.
"He won't come," Bellatrix said flatteringly. "That boy is a coward."
"No." Lord Voldemort's red eyes stared into the woods. "He will come."
The sound of a branch snapping.
Harry Potter stepped out. He didn't raise his wand; he even took off his invisibility cloak.
"I'm here," Harry said.
A burst of mocking laughter erupted from the crowd. Hagrid cried out loudly for Harry to run.
Lord Voldemort raised his hand, and the laughter stopped.
He looked greedily at Harry, his fated enemy.
"Harry Potter," Lord Voldemort said softly. "The Boy Who Lived... this time, no one can save you."
He raised the elder wand.
Harry looked at the wand.
Morrin had told him that the master of this wand was Morrin.
"It will resist harming its master, or anyone recognized by its master."
Harry closed his eyes.
"Morrin, I hope your 'after-sales service' is as reliable as your fees."
"Avada Kedavra!"
Lord Voldemort roared.
A blinding green light erupted from the tip of the elder wand.
At that moment, Morrin, as the true master of the elder wand, established an instantaneous remote connection with the wand through the Gate of Truth from the distant treetops.
[Authorization Confirmed: Supreme Administrator (Morrin White)]
[Command Override: Execute "Precision Strike" mode]
[Target Locked: "External soul fragment" within the host]
Boom!
Harry felt as if his chest had been slammed by a sledgehammer.
He flew backward and slammed heavily onto the ground.
The world plunged into darkness.
Chapter 152: The White Station, The Executioner of the Death Penalty
Illusion.
Harry woke up.
He found himself lying in a vast, white mist. It looked like King's Cross Station, but much cleaner, brighter, and without any trains.
He had no injuries on his body, and even his glasses were gone, but he could see more clearly than ever before.
"Harry."
A familiar voice spoke.
Dumbledore, dressed in pure white robes, walked toward him.
But to Harry's surprise, another person was standing beside Dumbledore.
No, that wasn't a person.
It was a translucent projection shimmering with a faint golden light.
It was Morrin White.
"Morrin?" Harry scrambled up from the ground. "Are you dead too?"
"I'm not dead; this is just my Thought Projection."
Morrin's projection spoke, his voice carrying an ethereal echo:
"My [Multiple Mind Core] allows me to split off a portion of my consciousness and dive into this gap between life and death."
"Look over there, Harry." Morrin pointed under a bench.
Crouched there was a skinless, weeping, and trembling creature shaped like a baby.
It was ugly, disgusting, and radiated an aura of despair.
"That is a soul fragment of Lord Voldemort," Dumbledoreexplained. "It was killed by the Killing Curse."
"And you..." Morrin looked at Harry, "...you are still alive. Because your soul was 'fixed' by me."
"It was a successful 'pest control surgery,'" Morrinevaluated.
"So I can go back now?" Harry asked.
"You have a choice," Dumbledore said. "You can board that train and die, or go back."
"Go back." Harry didn't hesitate. "There are still people fighting. There is still Voldemort to kill."
"Very well."
Morrin's projection began to dissipate.
"Since the surgery was a success, it's time to wake up, Harry."
"Don't be in a hurry to jump up. Play dead first."
Morrin's voice echoed in the white space:
"Wait for my signal. When Neville draws that sword... that is when you open your eyes."
...The real world, the Forbidden Forest.
Harry lay on the ground, motionless.
Lord Voldemort had also fallen due to the shock of the Horcrux being destroyed, but he was quickly helped up by the Death Eaters.
"Go check," Voldemort wheezed. "See if he is dead."
Narcissa Malfoy walked forward tremulously.
She felt for Harry's heartbeat.
It was still beating.
Beating strongly.
Narcissa leaned close to Harry's ear and asked in a very low voice, "Draco... is he still alive? Is he in the Castle?"
"Yes," Harry replied softly.
Narcissa stood up, turned around, and shouted loudly at Voldemort:
"He is dead!"
The Death Eaters erupted in roars of celebration. Hagrid let out a howl of despair.
Voldemort wore a victorious smile.
He used the Crucio curse to torture Harry's 'corpse'—Harryendured it because the Trench Coat Morrin gave him had a pain-reduction effect—then he ordered Hagrid to carry Harry and march toward the Castle... Hogwarts, Dawn.
"Harry Potter is dead!"
Voldemort's voice, amplified by magic, spread across the entire grounds.
He led his army, standing arrogantly before the Castle. Hagrid carried Harry, crying like a child.
The defenders in the Castle were shocked.
"No! It's impossible!" Ginny screamed and tried to rush out, but she was held back by Arthur.
Neville stood at the very front, his wand gripped tightly in his hand.
"It's not over yet!" Neville stepped forward with a limp, facing Voldemort. "Harry may be dead, but we are still here!"
"You have guts," Voldemort sneered. "In that case, you can go and die too."
Just then.
On the Castle tower, a blindingly bright golden signal flare suddenly lit up.
It was Morrin White's signal.
[General Offensive Begins.]
Boom!
Without waiting for Voldemort to act.
From the flank of the Castle, a terrifying army suddenly charged out.
It was a hundred fully armed Werewolf Guards, along with dozens of giant Gargoyles reinforced by Alchemy.
"Fire!" Lupin roared.
Rat-tat-tat-tat—
Alchemy Firearms and wands fired in unison.
Dense firepower instantly covered the Death Eaters' positions.
Simultaneously,
As Harry Potter disappeared from Hagrid's arms, Voldemort's brief victory celebration came to a screeching halt, replaced by rage and chaos.
"The person isn't here!" Yaxley screamed in terror.
"Find him! Find him for me!" Voldemort let out an inhuman roar, waving his wand as several green lights shot out randomly, shattering the stone steps.
And in the center of this chaotic storm, Neville Longbottomstill stood there.
He didn't scatter to find cover like the others.
He was wearing that [White Heavy Industries Dragon-hide Tactical Trench Coat], which had been through many battles and was covered in scratches, and he tightly clutched that old Sorting Hat.
"Longbottom!" Voldemort's red snake-like pupils locked onto this sole "Blood Traitor" who hadn't run. "Since Potterturned out to be a coward, you shall be the sacrifice!"
Voldemort pointed his wand.
"Petrificus Totalus!"
The spell was fast and vicious.
If it were the old Neville, he would certainly have fallen like a wooden board by now.
But things were different now.
Hum—
A blue light suddenly lit up on the Trench Coat button on Neville's chest.
It was the [One-time Alchemy Shield Generator] that Morrin had equipped him with.
A transparent ripple expanded in front of Neville, forcefully blocking the Petrificus Totalus. Although the shield shattered immediately after, Neville was unharmed.
"Hmm?" Voldemort froze for a moment. "Alchemy?"
"It's equipment advantage, Tom."
On the distant high tower, Morrin White held a telescope, evaluating coldly.
Neville did not waste this precious second.
He didn't retreat; instead, he took a step forward.
His hand reached into the Sorting Hat.
"What do you need, child?" the voice inside the hat rang in his mind.
"I need a weapon," Neville replied calmly in his heart.
A heavy, cold metallic sensation fell into his palm.
It wasn't a wand; it was cold steel.
Clang!
Neville yanked a silver-glinting longsword with a ruby-encrusted hilt from the hat.
The sword of gryffindor.
"Kill him, Nagini!" Voldemort lost his patience; he didn't want to waste time on a student, he wanted to find Harry.
The massive snake, Nagini, as thick as a tree trunk, had been coiled at Voldemort's feet.
At that moment, it received the command.
It opened its bloody maw, revealing fangs still dripping with venom, and lunged like green lightning straight for Neville's throat.
Neville didn't panic.
Over the past year, he had simulated scenarios of fighting dark creatures countless times in the Room of Requirement.
Morrin White's words echoed in his ears:
"When facing a beast faster than you, don't try to be faster than it. You must utilize its inertia and predict its landing point."
Neville didn't swing the sword wildly.
He made an extremely calm move—he raised his left hand and pressed a button on the side of his goggles.
[Tactical Visor: Motion Capture Mode (Enabled)].
In his field of vision, Nagini's lightning-fast movement was captured and analyzed by the Alchemy lenses, turning into a red predicted trajectory line.
"Here it comes."
Neville took a deep breath.
Just as Nagini's venomous fangs were only half a meter from his face and the stench hit him.
Chapter 153: "Sword Saint" Neville, the elder wand's "Landlord," and the Failed Killing Curse
Neville moved.
He didn't retreat; instead, he rolled sideways across the ground, his Dragonhide Trench Coat sending sparks flying as it scraped against the rubble.
Nagini lunged and missed.
But the snake's reflexes were incredibly fast; its thick tail immediately swept around, attempting to coil around Neville.
"Eat this!"
Neville tore a black orb from his belt—the White No. 3 Alchemical Flashbang.
He didn't throw it; instead, he shoved it directly into Nagini's mouth just as she was turning back, then squeezed his eyes shut.
Boom!
A muffled explosion rang out.
Intense light and a deafening roar erupted inside Nagini's mouth.
While not fatal for a magical creature of this caliber, it was enough to instantly paralyze its senses.
Nagini thrashed on the ground in agony, having lost all sense of direction.
This was the chance.
Neville bounded up from the ground.
He gripped the hilt of the sword of gryffindor with both hands and raised it high.
His movements were no longer as clumsy as they once were, but full of power—a muscle memory forged after a year of hauling alchemical supply crates.
"For Harry!"
"For Gran!"
"For... these damn war dividends!"
Neville let out a roar, and the blade whistled through the air as it swung down with precision.
Crack!
There wasn't much resistance.
The Goblin-forged blade, combined with Neville's full-strength strike, sliced through Nagini's hard scales like a knife through butter.
The massive snake head separated from the body, spinning into the air as black snake blood geysered out, drenching Neville.
The great serpent's body continued to twitch frantically on the ground, but it was already meaningless.
"Aaaaaaah—!!!"
Lord Voldemort let out a scream even more shrill and agonizing than before.
It was the excruciating pain of a soul being torn apart.
The final Horcrux, and his most trusted companion, had been beheaded right before his eyes by a "Longbottom" he had once looked down upon.
Neville wiped the blood from his face.
Leaning on the sword, he stood beside the snake's corpse, panting heavily, his eyes staring fiercely at the raging Dark Lord.
He was no longer that forgetful little boy.
He was the D.A. Commander.
He was one of Morrin White's proudest "War Products."
"Nicely done, Mr. Longbottom."
Up on the tower, Morrin lowered his binoculars, a satisfied curve hooking the corner of his mouth.
"This kill earns a First-Class Merit."
"Remind Alfred to deposit a 5,000 Galleon bonus into his account later."
Morrin turned around and looked at the battlefield behind him.
With Nagini's death, Lord Voldemort had become completely mortal.
The Death Eaters' morale was crumbling.
"Alright."
Morrin adjusted his gloves; it was a ritualistic gesture before the final harvest.
"The Horcruxes are all destroyed."
"Now, it's time for that noseless fellow to face the biggest creditor of his life."
Morrin's figure vanished from the tower.
The next second, he appeared in the chaos of the courtyard, directly facing the frenzied Lord Voldemort.
The final battle had officially begun.
The Hogwarts Courtyard.
Nagini's headless corpse was still twitching on the ground, black snake blood staining the stone slabs red.
Lord Voldemort let out an ear-splitting shriek, a sound containing not just rage, but a fear he had never felt before. He could feel it: the last cord tethering him to immortality had snapped.
He was a mortal man.
"Kill them all!" Lord Voldemort brandished the elder wand, pointing it at Neville. "Avada—"
"Expelliarmus!"
A jet of red light shot out from the void; it was Harry, draped in the invisibility cloak, knocking Voldemort's curse off course.
Lord Voldemort spun around, his red eyes fixed on the empty air. "Potter! I know you're there!"
"He is indeed there, but your opponent isn't him."
A cold, steady voice carrying absolute authority came from the other end of the courtyard.
Lord Voldemort, all the Death Eaters, and the newly arrived members of the Order of the Phoenix all turned their heads.
Morrin White was standing at the highest point of the marble steps.
The morning light had just pierced through the clouds, shining on his black Tactical Trench Coat and lining him in gold. He leaned on his black ironwood wand, looking like a monarch inspecting his own territory.
"Morrin White..." Lord Voldemort's voice was low and raspy, like a snake's hiss. "You've finally decided to crawl out of the gutter?"
"Gutter?"
Morrin gave a light chuckle and slowly walked down the steps.
With every step, the aura around him surged higher.
"Tom, you call this a 'gutter'? This is my school, my asset, my territory."
Morrin stopped ten meters away from Lord Voldemort.
Lord Voldemort raised the elder wand, pointing its tip at Morrin's heart. "You think this can stop me? I am the master of this wand! I am invincible!"
"Really?"
Morrin's gaze became pitying.
"Tom, your understanding of 'ownership' is as impoverished as your understanding of 'love'."
"You think killing the previous user grants you ownership? That's bandit logic. In the laws of commerce, the transfer of ownership requires a 'legal' conveyance or a 'complete' conquest."
Morrin raised his own wand, pointing it at the elder wandin Lord Voldemort's hand:
"That wand doesn't recognize you. In your hand, it's like an employee forced into overtime, full of resistance and resentment."
"Nonsense!"
Lord Voldemort was enraged. He could not tolerate such contempt.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A thick jet of green light erupted from the tip of the elder wand, rushing straight at Morrin.
It was still the Killing Curse.
Still carrying the absolute will to kill.
The surrounding crowd gasped. Harry, under the invisibility cloak, tried to rush forward.
But Morrin didn't move.
He didn't dodge, nor did he counter with a spell.
He just stood there quietly, watching the green light shoot toward his chest.
Hum—
Just an instant before the green light touched Morrin's body.
The elder wand in Lord Voldemort's hand suddenly began to vibrate violently.
It let out a sharp, defiant cry.
The Killing Curse, which should have been straight, actually swerved mid-air!
Boom!
The green light grazed Morrin's shoulder and struck a stone statue behind him, blowing it to smithereens.
Not a single hair on Morrin's head was out of place.
The entire field fell silent.
Lord Voldemort looked at his hand in disbelief, then at the trembling wand.
"This... this is impossible..."
"Nothing is impossible."
Morrin stepped forward, closing in on Lord Voldemort.
"The elder wand will not kill its master."
"What?!" Lord Voldemort's eyes widened. "Snape clearly..."
"Snape was just a scapegoat."
Morrin coldly revealed the answer:
"The night Dumbledore died, who was it that disarmed him on the Astronomy Tower? It was Draco Malfoy."
"And a few months ago, who was it that defeated Draco, took his wand, and made him submit completely?"
Morrin pointed to himself.
"It was me."
"So, Tom. What you are holding in your hand is my wand."
"You are just an—illegal tenant who hasn't paid his rent."
This truth was like a heavy hammer, smashing ruthlessly into Lord Voldemort's sanity.
His pride, his confidence, the invincibility he thought he possessed—it all became a joke in that moment.
"I don't believe it!"
Lord Voldemort went mad. He stopped using the laws of the wand and instead mobilized all the Dark Arts magic in his body, attempting to crush Morrin with brute force.
Black mist erupted around him, taking the forms of countless malevolent spirits.
"Since you want to fight."
Morrin stopped his advance and drove his wand heavily into a crack in the stone floor.
"Then I'll show you what it means to have—the depth of capital."
Morrin spread his arms wide.
[System Inventory: Release All]
[Gate of Truth (Gold)]—Full Power Operation!
"Domain Expansion: Golden Transmutation Circle!"
Rumble—!!!
With Morrin as the center, countless golden alchemical runes spread frantically across the ground, instantly covering the entire courtyard.
The broken stone slabs, the collapsed walls, the rubble everywhere—at this moment, they all came to life.
Under the golden glow, those stones rapidly reorganized and transformed, turning into dozens of five-meter-tall Rock Giants.
Golden magic patterns flowed across their bodies, and they held massive swords forged from compressed earth.
Chapter 154: The Dawn Duel, the Flying Scepter, and the Mortal Corpse
"Go," Morrin waved his hand.
The Rock Giants charged at Lord Voldemort with heavy steps.
Lord Voldemort brandished his wand, shattering one Giantafter another.
But these Giants were endless; as long as Morrin's magicdidn't run dry and the earth remained beneath their feet, they could regenerate infinitely.
This was the horror of Alchemy: a one-man army.
Lord Voldemort was besieged.
He had to clumsily dodge the swings of the Giant swords and expend a vast amount of magic to combat these tireless puppets.
The once-arrogant Dark Lord was now like a trapped beast in a quagmire.
"How does it feel, Tom?"
Morrin stood on the periphery, waving his fingers like a conductor.
"This is the consequence of having no 'logistical support.' Your Horcruxes are gone, your Death Eaters are gone, and you hold a wand that betrays you, fighting against the resources of the entire world."
"You are already—bankrupt."
Lord Voldemort let out a roar of despair.
Lord Voldemort let out a roar of despair. He unleashed a terrifying wave of magic, shattering all the Rock Giants.
But he was already panting, his magic overextended.
He looked at Morrin, and for the first time, an emotion called 'despair' appeared in those red eyes.
Morrin pulled out his cane and walked to a spot ten meters in front of Lord Voldemort.
"I won't kill you."
Morrin looked at the wretched Dark Lord and said flatly.
"Because someone else is more qualified than I am to end you."
Morrin turned sideways and looked at the empty space nearby.
"Come out, Harry."
"This is your destiny. It's also the... final roadshow for your'Savior' brand."
The air distorted.
Harry Potter pulled off the invisibility cloak and appeared.
He looked at Morrin, nodded, then gripped his wand and walked toward the cornered Lord Voldemort.
Morrin retreated into the shadows.
He had already stripped Lord Voldemort of all his trump cards: Horcruxes, wand, and subordinates.
The current Lord Voldemort was just a weak, mortal Tom Riddle.
What followed was Harry Potter's moment.
And Morrin White, as the producer of this grand historical drama, would quietly enjoy the final curtain call.
May 2nd, sunrise.
The first ray of sunlight pierced the eastern clouds, illuminating the scarred courtyard of Hogwarts.
The air was thick with the smell of smoke and blood, but at this moment, everyone held their breath.
In the center of the courtyard, two figures were facing off.
Harry Potter.
He wasn't wearing the invisibility cloak; his face was covered in blood and dust, but his green eyes burned with an unprecedented calm and determination.
He tightly gripped the Hawthorn wand that belonged to Draco Malfoy.
Lord Voldemort.
He hunched over, like an old wolf that had its teeth pulled.
His Horcruxes were gone, his Death Eaters were gone, but he still clutched the elder wand as his final straw.
"Don't you want to kill me, Potter?" Lord Voldemortlaughed raspily, with the madness of one at the end of his rope. "You don't dare kill me. You're just a boy clinging to life thanks to Dumbledore and that White!"
"You still don't understand, Riddle."
Harry was not provoked. He took a step forward, his voice clear in the morning breeze.
"You think you can win just because you have the elder wand? Morrin just told you, it doesn't belong to you. You're just a thief."
"That Slytherin traitor is lying!" Lord Voldemort screamed. "I killed Snape! This wand must obey me!"
"Snape isn't dead," Harry coldly shattered his delusion. "Morrin saved him. And besides, Snape was never the master of this wand."
Harry's gaze went past Lord Voldemort to Morrin White, who stood on the high steps.
Morrin was leaning on his cane, quietly watching the scene as if waiting for a play to conclude.
"The master of this wand is Morrin." Harry turned back to stare at Lord Voldemort. "And Morrin... he doesn't want me to die. At least not for now."
"So, Tom. The weapon in your hand isn't just a piece of wood; it's a bomb that could go off at any moment."
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!"
Lord Voldemort broke down.
He couldn't accept this humiliation.
He was a Dark Lord of a generation; how could he lose to some 'rule of ownership'?
"Even without the wand's recognition, my magic is enough to crush you!"
Lord Voldemort suddenly raised the elder wand, his entire magical power surging into the shaft.
It was his final, desperate strike.
Avada Kedavra!
A thick bolt of green light erupted.
Expelliarmus!
Harry shouted the spell he knew best at the same time.
The red and green lights collided in the air.
Golden sparks flew everywhere.
Boom!
This should have been an evenly matched clash of spells.
But the elder wand 'mutinied.'
It felt Morrin White's gaze.
It felt the command to 'End this.'
The elder wand vibrated violently in Lord Voldemort's hand, refusing to release the full power of the Killing Curse.
Instead, following Harry's Expelliarmus, it suddenly flew backward.
Whoosh—
The elder wand left his hand.
It spun in the air, tracing a high arc, flying past the rising sun and the shocked crowd.
It didn't fly toward Harry.
Because Harry hadn't defeated Morrin, Harry was not the master.
Like a homing bird, the elder wand landed accurately with the person on the steps.
Snap.
A hand wearing a black Dragon-hide glove caught the legendary deathly hallows steadily.
Morrin White gripped the elder wand.
A majestic,
[Spell Maximize (Gold)] — Fully Activated!
"This is... the end."
Morrin whispered.
And in the center of the courtyard.
Without his wand, Lord Voldemort was struck by his own rebounding Killing Curse.
On that pale, snake-like face, a final expression of extreme horror and resentment was frozen.
He fell backward.
There was no grand explosion, no black smoke dissipating.
Just like a mortal, he fell straight to the ground.
Thud.
At that moment, the world went silent.
Tom Riddle.
The Dark Lord who had terrified the wizarding world for half a century had turned into a lifeless corpse this morning.
"He... he's dead?" Ron asked in disbelief.
Harry lowered his wand. He looked at Lord Voldemort's body, feeling as if all the strength had been drained from his own.
It was over.
It was truly over.
"Waaaah—!!!"
In the next second, earth-shattering cheers erupted.
Students rushed toward Harry, hugging him, crying, and laughing. Hagrid blew a massive horn.
But amidst this revelry.
Morrin White did not join in.
He stood on high, gripping the elder wand, looking down at Harry.
That was the savior's highlight moment.
"Alfred."
Morrin's voice sounded exceptionally calm amidst the noise.
"I am here, Young Master." The butler appeared behind him at some unknown point.
"Take some men and collect Voldemort's corpse."
A hint of a merchant's coldness flashed in Morrin's eyes:
"Don't let the Ministry people touch him. That is a body modified multiple times by Dark Arts, even fused with the laws of Horcruxes."
"It's top-tier... experimental material."
"Yes, Young Master."
Morrin tucked the elder wand into his robes.
He turned, preparing to leave this noisy stage.
"Wait, Morrin!"
Harry pushed through the crowd and ran to the bottom of the steps, panting.
He looked up at Morrin.
"Thank you," Harry said. This time, he meant it.
"You're welcome." Morrin stopped and turned sideways. "Remember our contract. You're now the most famous star in the wizarding world; my products need you."
Harry laughed, a laugh of relief.
"As long as you're not selling those books that bite people."
Morrin also smiled.
He looked up at the gradually brightening sky.
The sun was rising.
The old Dark Lord had fallen.
But a new, larger, and more pervasive capital empire was slowly rising upon these ruins.
"Let's go, Alfred."
Morrin stepped toward the Castle gates.
"Notify all the shareholders, the high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Magic, and the heads of those pure-blood families."
"Next Monday, at the White Tower, we will hold the Post-War Reconstruction and Order Allocation Conference."
"I want them to know..."
Morrin's silhouette stretched long in the morning light, like an insurmountable mountain:
"...From today on, this world's name is White."
Chapter 155: Champagne on the Ruins, Malfoy's Indenture, and Death Eaters' Re-employment
Great Hall of Hogwarts.
This was no longer a battlefield, but a sanctuary filled with tears, laughter, and hugs.
Although half of the walls had been blasted away and House-elves were busy clearing the rubble, the long-lost sunlight finally shone on every face.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione sat by the long table, too exhausted to even speak.
The Weasley Family gathered around, and although George had lost an ear, Fred was not dead, and thanks to Morrin's equipment, everyone was still alive.
At the other end of the Great Hall, however, the atmosphere was completely different.
The Slytherin long table had been cleaned spotless.
Morrin White sat in the master seat, holding a glass of iced champagne that had materialized from who knows where.
The tactical windbreaker he wore had been replaced by a neat black suit, as if the earth-shattering duel just now was merely a warm-up exercise that hadn't even made him sweat.
Kneeling in front of him were three trembling people.
Lucius Malfoy, Narcissa Malfoy, and Draco Malfoy.
Instead of being bound by Aurors like the other Death Eaters, they were "protected" here by Morrin's Werewolf Guard.
"Raise your head, Lucius."
Morrin swirled his wine glass, watching the bubbles rising in it.
"You survived. This is worth a drink."
Lucius raised his head, that once arrogant face now covered in dust and tear stains, his eyes filled only with the fear of surviving a disaster and absolute submission to Morrin.
"Tha... Thank you, Master..." Lucius trembled as he changed his address.
"Call me Boss," Morrin corrected, "We are in a business society, none of that slave-owner naming convention."
Morrin pulled a pre-drawn parchment contract from his arms and threw it in front of Lucius.
"What is this?" Draco asked cautiously, looking at Morrinnow as if he were looking at a god.
"The Malfoy Family Asset Restructuring and Lifetime Labor Agreement."
Morrin explained indifferently:
"Although you switched sides at the last moment, this cannot completely wash away your previous crimes as Death Eaters. That pack of ravenous wolves at the Ministry of Magic surely wants to turn your house upside down."
"So, I thought of a way for you."
Morrin pointed at the contract:
"You 'donate' Malfoy Manor, all the title deeds, and the Gringotts vault to the White Foundation."
"In return, I will hire Lucius as the Public Relations Manager of the Government Relations Department of the White Group, Narcissa as the Charity Banquet Organizer, Draco..."
Morrin glanced at this lackey who used to always follow behind him:
"...Draco go to my Potion factory as the factory director. Professor Snape will teach you how to manage."
"Sign it, and you are my employees with legitimate occupations, and the Ministry of Magic cannot touch you. If not, then go to Azkaban to accompany the Dementors."
Lucius looked at the contract, which was equivalent to "selling oneself into slavery."
But he did not hesitate at all.
He grabbed the quill and quickly signed his name.
Compared to losing everything and rotting in prison, being a senior wage earner for the most powerful person in this world was simply a blessing.
"Very good."
Morrin put away the contract, in a pleasant mood.
"Get up. Go wash your face. Later, we still need to talk about 'post-war reconstruction' with Kingsley, the newly appointed interim Minister of the Ministry of Magic."
At this moment, a commotion came from the entrance of the Great Hall.
A group of captured Death Eaters were escorted in by Aurors. Bellatrix was not dead, knocked out by Morrin, along with Dolohov and that Yaxley who had escaped earlier.
Seeing Morrin sitting at the Slytherin long table drinking champagne, their eyes flashed with hatred or fear.
"White!" Bellatrix shrieked, tied up but still lunatic, "You killed the Dark Lord! You—"
"Shut her up."
Morrin waved his wand.
[Langlock].
Bellatrix's voice came to an abrupt halt.
Morrin stood up and walked toward the group of prisoners.
The Aurors automatically cleared a path, many of whom were part-time employees of Morrin's security company.
"Ladies and gentlemen."
Morrin looked at this group of once arrogant Dark Wizards.
"I know you are desperate. Your master is dead, and life imprisonment awaits you."
"However, I am a person who cherishes talent."
Morrin's gaze swept over several Death Eaters who were proficient in the Dark Arts or had specialties in Potions and Alchemy.
"White Group has a deep-sea Dark Arts materials mining base in the North Sea. The environment there is harsh, the work is dangerous, but—"
Morrin showed a devilish smile:
"—this is freer than Azkaban. At least you can see the sun, even if it's underwater, and you can get a full meal."
"If anyone is willing to sign the 'Lifetime Labor Atonement Contract', I can consider applying to the Wizengamot court to change your sentence to 'forced labor'."
The Death Eaters were stunned.
No need to go to prison?
Although it sounded like doing hard labor, compared to the despairing prison...
"I'll sign!" a young Death Eater shouted, "I don't want to go into Azkaban!"
"I'll sign too!"
Watching the scramble among the Death Eaters, Morrinnodded with satisfaction.
These were all high-quality cheap labor. And labor with advanced magic capabilities.
"Very good, Lupin."
Morrin said to Lupin beside him, the current security director:
"Take them down and classify and register them. Those good at fighting will be incorporated into the'Special Recovery Team', and those good at Potions will be sent to the factory. As for those lunatics who only know how to kill, like Bella..."
Morrin's eyes turned cold:
"...hand them over to the Ministry of Magic. We need to give the public a few scapegoats."
After dealing with all this, Morrin sat back down in his chair.
Harry walked over.
"Morrin," Harry looked at him, "You incorporated all the Death Eaters?"
"That's resource recycling, Harry," Morrin handed Harry a glass of pumpkin juice, "Waste is shameful."
"Fine," Harry sighed, already used to Morrin's style, "What do you plan to do next? Rule the world?"
"Ruling the world is too tiring."
Morrin looked at the magical radiance repairing the walls in the Great Hall.
"I only plan to... set some new rules for this world."
"For example, making the Goblins of Gringotts learn what a 'reserve requirement ratio' is, and making the officials of the Ministry of Magic learn what'service awareness' is."
"Of course..."
Morrin looked out the window, where an owl was flying over with a letter from the United States.
"...and taking business across the ocean."
"The war is over, Harry. But the territory of the business empire has just begun to unfold."
