In a sea of fanfics where you could be reading about Luffy discovering he's secretly a dragon-king-god-emperor with a harem, you chose to spend time with my orange-haired disaster of a protagonist instead. That's cool as hell.
Truth is, this whole thing started because I couldn't find a One Piece fanfic that scratched the particular itch I was looking for. You know how it goes—you want something specific, can't find it, and eventually just sigh and say, "Fine, I'll do it myself." That's basically what happened here. I wanted something that wasn't just a translation, that had a protagonist who wasn't immediately best friends with the Straw Hats, and that played with the ridiculous potential of Devil Fruits in ways the original series doesn't always have time for.
So here we are. Sora's out there making terrible first impressions and accidentally summoning gorgeous manifestations of his own personality traits. As one does.
But there's another reason I'm writing this. I'm aiming to enter the Webnovel Spirity Awards in 2026 with an original work, and this is my training ground. Several writers I respect have used fanfiction as a way to hone their craft before diving into original publishing, and I figured—why not? It's a chance to work on character voice, pacing, world-building (though Oda-sensei did the heavy lifting there), and getting comfortable with writing regular updates.
Whether you're here for the adventure, the character dynamics, or just to see what weird shit I come up with next—I appreciate you. This story exists because I wanted something to read, but it continues because you're reading it.
