She wasn’t watching where she was going.
She just ran — through quiet corridors and empty halls — breath shaky, heart pounding.

Then a voice cut through the silence — calm, low, almost unreal.

“What are you doing here?”

She froze.

It was him.

She'd seen him before, but only in passing. This was the first time they stood face to face.

Something about the moment made the empty corridor feel unnaturally still

I'm really sorry for another week without a chapter. Something unexpected came up at the start of the week, and I had to put writing on hold. Things are finally settling down, and I can't wait to get back to the story.
