Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Bubble

'Activate all available SW drones in the southern sector,'

Keon sent a command in his neural nexus, his thoughts were flat and measured devoid of his earlier surprise. He is planning to deploy these drones with minimal visual and thermal signature.

These drones with specific tasks will process thousands of detailed, multi-spectral images and full behavioral analysis on the undead wave without engaging. Just locate the command signal.

The Neural Nexus instantly controlled and allocated thousands of reconnaissance drones, designed for stealth resource mapping, to the task. They detached silently from the ground infrastructure, their Dragon-Scale Composite shells absorbing the desert heat, turning them into flying shadows against the sand.

'I must find the player's location. He or She is probably using these weak and low level zombies as cannon fodders. The real threat is definitely hidden on the other side of that colossal portal,'

Keon calculated thoughtfully. 'They are truly playing the resource-efficient game. I have to somehow analyze the abilities of the candidate and world background of his civilization before acting against its invasion. Every future step must be based on careful calculation.'

[Universe 546876]

The atmosphere of planet green is thick with the scent of rot, fear, and burning ozone. Above a crumbling metropolitan skyline, where broken glass towers representing a dead era, a crackling, golden-red vortex hung silently at the edge of this ruined city.

Meanwhile in the middle of this metropolitan city, inside the reinforced, subterranean bunker of a former government facility, was the command center of the current invasion.

The room was dimly lit by emergency lights that cast long, sickly shadows. The main displays were hanging on the walls, each one displaying the different destructive scenery of the planet's green during apocalypse, while one of the displays is currently showing the wave of shambling undead flowing through the massive portal.

At the center of the room, seated on a couch with plush leather, was a young man of age eighteen to twenty. His name was Kai (Candidate 546876). He is currently Level 24, his eyes a disturbing, unnatural shade of black, and his skin pale from months spent underground without sunlight.

His ability, Lord of the Undead, had transformed him from an ordinary college student into the absolute, uncontested ruler of a global apocalypse.

"Report, Lilith," Kai commanded, his voice tired but carrying an undertone of primal authority.

On the other side,

Lilith, a woman with sharp, intelligent eyes and hair the color of polished black, lying on the rooftop aiming at the portal. She was dressed in highly reinforced tactical gear and held a modified sniper rifle.

"The first wave deployment is stable. Approximately 50,000 'First Grade Shamblers' have been pushed through. The portal remains stable and is not showing any signs of disturbance yet." She spoke with the practiced, professional detachment of a military adjutant, a stark contrast to her delicate features.

"Good. Any counter-attack?" Kai leaned back on the couch, closing his eyes, his consciousness linked to the sensory input of all 50,000 undead on the other side. He saw the flickering scenery of sand, heat, and the slow, aimless crawling of his undead swarm.

"None. The enemy civilization appears to be silent. No defensive fire, no patrols, not even a heat signature near the portal. It's probably an empty world, Kai. A barren desert." Lilith replied negatively, while constantly observing the portal with her heat vision scope.

Kai frowned, opening his eyes with a snap. "Impossible. The system wouldn't pit me against an abandoned world. It's definitely a trick. This silence is louder than any blast. They are watching, waiting for me to send in my true army."

He stood, walking toward one of the displays. This one showed the status of his true force: Thousands of Giant Zombies of five to ten meter height are stationed on the streets, millions of Undead Beasts roaming chaotically underground below this city.

"Fine, if they want to see my true power… I will fill their world with despair… prepare the Rat Swarm and the Giant Corrupters."

While commanding, he turned to the third and fourth female figures in the room. Both of them were slender with similar features, dressed in silk robes salvaged from a high-end department store.

He glanced at them for a while and then fixed his gaze on one of the twins with a sword in her hand.

"Aria, I want you to pass through the portal. Follow the Swarm and Currupters, they will listen to your command… Your task is to simply find the details of creatures in that world. It will be better if you find out what abilities they use."

Aria hesitated a little and then nodded calmly, her emotions becoming deadly. Then she turned around and walked toward the outside direction of the compound decisively.

After seeing Aria leaving the compound, he once again contacted Lilith.

"Lilith, prepare the tactical team and load the aircrafts. We will breach the portal after receiving the signal from Aria."

"Yes, My Lord," Lilith acknowledged, her hand already moving toward the telecom to begin the preparation phase.

Kai turned and looked at the fifth figure in the corner, a muscular woman with a harsh gaze named Vera, meticulously cleaning her weapons.

These females are four strongest evolver team, all of them bound to him by the necessity of survival and his absolute power, were his only confidants and lieutenants.

'This is a massive gamble,' Kai thought, his mind racing. 'I must win this war swiftly. Ten years is too long to wait. The faster I reach Level 30, the safer we all are. And the quickest way to Level 30 is to evolve more powerful undeads.'

Back in the Universe 8888888888,

Keon's SW drones data flowed in seamlessly. The undead were exactly as the initial analysis suggested: brainless, driven by an unknown biological imperative, and utterly devoid of tactical value.

'It's time to Initiate the containment process.' Keon thought flickered with a decision.

The massive, automated construction infrastructure of UHS1 roared to life. All non-essential manufacturing was temporarily routed to a singular task.

Tens of thousands of specialized, low-altitude fabrication drones, designed for planetary landscaping, flew toward the southern hemisphere.

Their payload was high-density, rapidly curing polymer derived from processed sand and carbon. Their current main task is to isolate the invasion point and capture each and every undead invading through the portal.

The drones flew low over the sand sea, rapidly deploying a self-assembling barrier.

In a hundred kilometer radius around the portal, a perfectly smooth, three meter wide wall of transparent glass polymer began to rise and sank inside the sand, encompassing the entire invasion zone in a perfect, impenetrable bubble of 200 kilometers in diameter.

Keon was building a prison for the undead swarm and any creature that is going to invade UHS1.

'For now three meter width and two hundred kilometer diameter is enough. Anyway my Adaptive Synthesis will expand it and make it wider based on condition.'

Keon thoughtfully observed the bubble, which was projected to be complete in 5 minutes.

Keon watched the construction, his analysis running concurrently. 'They are using these low level zombies to test the waters. I will stay low for a while… when the real controller shows up. I will reveal my overwhelming force.'
