Lin Luo held the purple-haired girl in his arms, letting the water from the shower fall on him.

He stared blankly at Lorna, Polaris, who was bathing in the tub.

After the two exchanged glances, they looked down at the trembling girl in his arms... Time seemed to freeze at that moment.

"Ah!"

A scream broke the deathly silence.

A purple light flashed around Blink, who instinctively tried to use her spatial teleportation ability to escape.

But for some reason, the light on her flickered and disappeared, leaving her ability unused.

She raised her head blankly, looking at the man holding her.

The two stared at each other... "Sigh~~~"

Lorna let out a breath, unable to watch any longer, and got out of the bathtub, sighing, "You two really don't make things easy."

Lin Luo was pushed out the door by Lorna.

Click—!

The bathroom door closed, and the beautiful scene completely vanished.

Lin Luo stood at the door in a daze for a while, then shook his head, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

He raised his hands, turning them left and right, as if gesturing something.

"The pressure is back on Lorna," Lin Luo said with a carefree smile.

He pressed his watch, and his wet clothes automatically dried, transforming into loose pajamas.

Returning to the living room on the first floor... he took out a bottle of 1982 Lafite.

No rush, he'd drink and wait...

Outside the room.

Natasha and Catwoman sat on the front of the car.

A sudden scream caught their attention.

"Tsk," Natasha clicked her tongue, complaining, "They're making quite a racket."

"Heh heh," Catwoman chuckled, not joining the teasing, and covered her warm lower abdomen with one hand, looking at the starry sky with a complex expression.

Natasha looked over curiously and asked, "So quiet, not like you. What are you thinking about?"

"Sigh," Catwoman stood up with a 'thump' and said, "I've decided, I'm quitting."

"What?"

Natasha looked utterly bewildered, "Are you crazy?"

"I'm not crazy, don't misunderstand. When I say I'm quitting, I don't mean MIB, I mean another part-time job."

Catwoman stretched, showing off her perfect figure, and explained:

"Remember? I mentioned before that someone offered 100 million U.S. dollars to hunt me down."

"In fact, after MIB found me, Batman set a trap and caught me. He promised to clear all my criminal records and give me 100 million U.S. dollars to go undercover in MIB."

"Oh, and there was a 10 million U.S. dollar down payment..."

"I don't want that part-time job anymore. A gentle person like the Boss and a great organization like MIB shouldn't be coveted by outsiders."

"Tomorrow, I'll confess to the Boss. Whether I live or die, it'll depend on what the Boss says."

"However, maybe it's a woman's intuition, but I think the Boss will keep me."

Catwoman was a righteous thief.

Most of the money she stole was donated to orphanages and charities.

Commonly known as... robbing the rich to help the poor.

The rich she robbed included some unscrupulous merchants and big capitalists.

She had a kind heart and didn't want to harm MIB, a great organization that guarded human civilization.

Additionally, and most importantly, she didn't want to hurt the person who cared for her.

Treat with gentleness, and gentleness shall be returned.

After hearing this, Natasha immediately thought of herself.

She was also in a difficult position, caught in the middle.

Given the strength MIB had displayed, Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. could at most cause a tiny ripple.

It's likely MIB wouldn't even bother with them...

Yet, Director Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. was an ambitious leader who liked to take small risks to gain big, devouring other organizations to expand his own power.

If S.H.I.E.L.D. went against MIB, the outcome would be without any suspense.

Natasha just thinking about it gave her a headache.

She also felt like she couldn't please anyone.

Sigh.

Why wasn't MIB an evil organization? At least then her conscience would feel a little better.

But that wouldn't work either.

If MIB were evil, then the World would be completely finished.

Seeing Natasha's troubled expression, Catwoman advised, "I suggest you also make a choice soon. The Boss specifically made the two of us drivers. Do you really think it's as simple as wanting to look at our legs?"

Natasha understood this question all too well.

She was just gambling.

Out of her professional training as an Agent, she could only continue to conceal it.

"I don't understand what you mean. Let's talk about something else. What was your life like before you became a thief?" Natasha forcibly changed the subject.

Catwoman shrugged.

Good advice is wasted on the doomed; she had already advised her, so whatever she chose was up to her.

"I was born in the slums of Gotham, the darkest corner of the World, where all sorts of crimes happened daily. It's no exaggeration to call it hell."

"My mother had an illicit profession, and she raised me with it. Perhaps it was luck, but after my mother passed away, a master took me in as an apprentice. She trained me, teaching me martial arts and some small skills."

"Later, due to some events, I fell in love with the feeling of being a righteous thief, but as my criminal record accumulated, I started to hate the life of constantly running away."

"Then I came here. I suffered too much from a young age, and not many people were genuinely good to me. Perhaps working for the Boss for a while isn't so bad."

"What about you? Don't tell me you also have a tragic past?"

She really hit the nail on the head.

Natasha said, pretending not to care, "That's right, I'll tell you this: I don't even know the names of my birth parents. Then I was taken into a special institution, and one of the most important symbols of a woman was taken away from me."

"What?" Catwoman asked curiously.

Natasha smiled and replied, "After that day, I never had things like periods again."

Catwoman: "..."

In just two short sentences, Catwoman could confirm that Natasha's life was even more tragic than hers in the Gotham slums.

They were both women with stories.

Catwoman patted Natasha's shoulder, "The Boss said he wouldn't come out even if it was the end of the World. How about we take this opportunity to go for a few drinks?"

"Going out to drink is fine, but let's buy some to bring back. I'll have some Chinese liquor and some Chinese food," Natasha said.

"OK," Catwoman waved and left, "I'll go buy it. There's a Chinese supermarket nearby, and I'll also deal with Batman's trivial matters while I'm at it, to save trouble."

"Mm."

S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters, Helicarrier.

Nick Fury sat on his Director's throne, a faint smile appearing on his perpetually grim face.

He couldn't help it; he was truly happy.

With the outbreak of the alien invasion, he had received full support from the U.S. government and the World Security Council.

S.H.I.E.L.D. was renamed Super S.H.I.E.L.D., and the plan to build three new Helicarriers was now increased to six.

He had free choice of elites from all over the U.S., and all departments were at his disposal, giving him powers no less than the President.

No, in matters concerning aliens, he had even higher authority than the President.

Nick Fury took out a dossier and threw it onto the table with a triumphant flourish.

"The Avengers Initiative, it's time to launch."
