…There was Director Nick Fury's command first.
Hawkeye Clint Barton didn't dwell on how Natasha and the other two had breached the defenses.
He first ordered his Agents, "Go do your job, and pretend none of this happened."
"Yes, My Lord," the Agent replied, knowing immediately that it was beyond his jurisdiction.
Without another word, he turned and quickly departed.
Once the Agent was out of sight, Hawkeye Clint Barton stared in the direction Natasha had gone, pressed his earpiece, and connected directly to the Director's channel.
The call connected in one second.
A cold, emotionless voice came from the other end:
"This is Director Nick Fury. Agent Hawkeye Clint Barton, at this critical juncture, don't tell me you're just calling to say hello."
Hawkeye Clint Barton immediately reported, "Agent Natasha and two individuals claiming to be Sector Seven Agents have appeared in my assigned area."
"…"
"!!!"
After hearing Hawkeye Clint Barton's words, Nick Fury was stunned for a moment, then became fully alert.
He urgently said, "Quickly describe their characteristics, the faster the better!"
"Okay," Hawkeye Clint Barton replied concisely. "They're all wearing black suits. The leader is an eighteen or nineteen-year-old Eastern youth, and the other is a sexy, beautiful, and elegant woman."
"By the way, why go through all this trouble? Can't I just take their picture and upload it to you?"
"Absolutely do not do that!" Nick Fury practically roared the words.
Hawkeye Clint Barton paused, his brow furrowing again.
He had worked under Nick Fury for so many years, and this was the first time he had seen him lose his composure like this.
This unusual tone made him elevate the seriousness of the situation by several levels.
Hawkeye Clint Barton took down his bow and arrows and asked seriously, "Tell me, Director, what should I do next?"
"…"
Nick Fury didn't give an order immediately.
He quickly thought for a few seconds, then said, "Follow them, and cooperate with all of Natasha's actions."
"Remember, no matter what happens, do not get into any arguments with them. Only after they have completely left, report everything that happened to me!"
"Yes…"
Hawkeye Clint Barton put away his bow and arrows and cut the communication.
He looked towards Natasha and the two others, who had already reached Mjolnir, took a deep breath, adjusted his mindset, and quickly followed them… "BOSS, don't tell me that a mere Mjolnir is worth your personal trip."
Catwoman asked, puzzled.
Cats and women are creatures driven by curiosity, and Catwoman, being a combination of both, had her curiosity amplified to the extreme.
As she spoke, she grabbed the hammer's handle with her small hand and pulled upwards twice with force.
However, the seemingly light Mjolnir wouldn't budge an inch, no matter how much force she applied.
"What?" Catwoman didn't believe it. She used both hands, gritting her teeth, and pulled with all her might, like milking.
The result was no different.
"Save your strength, My Lady," Hawkeye Clint Barton said with a smile as he walked over, pointing to the crane and hoist nearby. "These machines, specifically designed for heavy lifting, have no effect on it. Otherwise, we wouldn't have cordoned off this area."
Lin Luo, Natasha, and Catwoman looked over at the sound.
Natasha felt a slight sense of relief when she saw Hawkeye Clint Barton.
She knew this was a S.H.I.E.L.D. defense perimeter and was afraid of accidentally exposing her identity.
Clinton was her old partner, and their years of working together meant the risk of exposure could be minimized.
Natasha proactively stepped forward with her Sector Seven identification.
"Sir, we are Agents from Sector Seven…"
"I don't care who you are," Hawkeye Clint Barton interrupted Natasha, smiling. "Since you've come here, please be useful. If you can't do anything, then don't blame me for turning hostile."
There was a hint of a veiled threat in his smile.
If one didn't know the relationship between Natasha and Clinton, they might actually be fooled.
"Alright, you call the shots, sir." Natasha turned to Lin Luo and said, "BOSS, what do you think…"
Lin Luo placed his hand on the hammerhead, observing the patterns on it.
"This Mjolnir is called Mjolnir. It is the weapon of Thor in Norse mythology, hence it is also called Thor's Hammer."
"Mythology?"
Natasha and Catwoman exclaimed in unison.
Hawkeye Clint Barton's gaze towards Lin Luo turned to astonishment.
He hadn't expected this guy to actually know the Mjolnir's origin.
No wonder Nick Fury was so nervous… "Are there really gods or God in this World?" Catwoman asked.
Lin Luo replied, "God certainly exists, but he doesn't live in this dimension."
"As for gods, they are not really the gods you understand. The so-called 'gods' that exist in this World are merely a group of high-dimensional beings."
"And the 'gods' in our myths are relatively lower-level. Take Norse mythology, for example, um…"
Lin Luo paused, then asked, "Are you sure you're interested in hearing me talk about this?"
"Mm… Mm-hmm!"
Natasha and Catwoman nodded repeatedly.
Their expressions were quite expectant.
If circumstances allowed, they would have even wanted to bring small stools, popcorn, and soda.
Hawkeye Clint Barton, standing nearby, also nodded.
He froze for a moment, then snapped back to reality, looking at Lin Luo, then at Natasha and Catwoman.
Phew… Luckily, the three of them weren't looking at him, or he would have died of embarrassment.
"The gods in Norse and Greek mythology were actually a group of civilized beings from before Earth entered the age of technology."
"Essentially, they were also a type of human, but they possessed powerful abilities that ordinary people didn't have."
"How about that? Doesn't that concept sound familiar?"
"Mutants," Clinton blurted out subconsciously.
Interrupted by him, Natasha and Catwoman both turned to look.
"Uh…"
Clinton gave a dry laugh and quickly waved his hands in apology, "Sorry, you guys continue… continue…"
Lin Luo continued, "Yes, Mutants, but their genes, go through the baptism of time, underwent new evolution. During this period, they also mastered the power of magic and runes.
"They proclaimed themselves gods, high and mighty, and recklessly established theocratic kingdoms in the Human World."
"Then if they were so powerful, why did they leave Earth?" Natasha asked.
"Good question," Lin Luo praised, then explained, "This involves some secrets. I'll keep it simple. The ancient Mutants were created by high-dimensional beings who traveled the Universe."
"About a thousand years ago, they descended upon Earth again to observe human evolution."
"They found that humans were ruled by gods, their thoughts were confined, their bodies enslaved, and they had lost the possibility of infinite evolution. In a fit of anger, they drove the gods out of Earth."
"These gods didn't just accept it. All the Earth gods united and forged a Destroyer armor for Odin, the All-Father, who is Thor's father, an armor imbued with the blessings of all gods."
"Odin donned this armor and fought those high-dimensional beings with all his might, severing the arm of one of them, then he was beaten up by the rest."
"The high-dimensional beings didn't kill them. After their victory, they merely drove most of the gods out of Earth."
"These gods, once expelled, relied on their own strength to conquer throughout the Universe. Odin quickly conquered the Nine Realms and established a divine kingdom with Asgard as its core."
