Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: My Foolish Big Brother

Live Stream

The sudden appearance of such a colossal scene nearly scared Guojia to death.

Can you imagine a giant dragon suddenly plummeting from the sky and crashing down right on top of you?

And to make matters worse, she had just been in Ningguang's perspective!

Looking at the dragon, even when it was lying down, it was as tall as five or six people stacked on top of each other. Some viewers with megalophobia felt their hearts clench violently.

[???]

[Holy shit, is that a dragon?!]

[F*ck, what's going on?! That's Rex Lapis? Why so sudden?!]

[A Divine Dragon? That definitely fits as Liyue's god, but is getting killed off so soon a bit too fast?]

[Ahem, compared to that drunken bum, this dragon actually seems like a proper god!]

[Holy crap, that jump scare just gave me a heart attack!]

Guojia didn't have time to be shocked; she was already running for her life, though she wasn't entirely sure why.

-

At Yujing Terrace,

Mu Qingge led a Millelith force far superior to the original, securing every strategic point.

Just as Lumine and Paimon were preparing to escape, a Millelith soldier spotted their suspicious movements.

"Hey, you over there! Freeze!"

Lumine refused to comply, charging forward with the Unrelenting Will blazing in her eyes.

Though the Millelith soldiers were well-trained, they were no match for the renowned Traveler. Lumine swiftly incapacitated them, knocking them unconscious.

More Millelith soldiers rushed toward the commotion.

Lumine gritted her teeth, bracing for a fight!

Just then, a pleasant male voice came from behind her.

"Miss, be careful and don't move."

Tartaglia unleashed a volley of Hydro-infused arrows, disarming the Millelith soldiers. He then materialized two broken blades and effortlessly subdued the approaching troops.

"Quick, let's get out of here. If that girl catches up, we'll be in trouble."

With that, Tartaglia leaped over the low wall, Lumine and Paimon following close behind.

"Hey, who's 'that girl'?"

Paimon flew ahead of Tartaglia, while Lumine sprinted to keep up.

She certainly didn't want to be thrown into the big prison.

Until she knew whether this so-called Geo Archon was connected to the one who had separated her and her brother, Lumine decided it was best to play it safe.

The trio sprinted to a deserted spot. Paimon, hands on her hips, panted:

"Huff~ Huff~ Running is so tiring!"

"But I'm the one who ran the hardest! What muscles does magic flight even use?" Lumine retorted.

Paimon bristled at Lumine's words:

"You're so heartless! My phantom limbs are practically aching from flying—oh, right! Hey, mister, who are you anyway?"

"You can call me Childe," Tartaglia replied smoothly.

"You've probably met La Signora in Mondstadt, haven't you?"

This blatant hint put Lumine and Paimon on high alert.

"La Signora... Childe..."

"You're a Fatui Harbinger, aren't you?"

Lumine's small face remained cold. She vividly remembered everything La Signora had done in Mondstadt:

Beating Venti

Freezing Paimon and Rola

Stealing the Gnosis

Knocking her unconscious

To Lumine, the Fatui were unequivocally villains. Seeing another Fatui Harbinger, Childe, naturally drew a hostile reaction, even though he had saved her and Paimon earlier.

"Don't be so tense. I'm not here to fight you," Childe said.

"La Signora must have left you with a terrible impression, huh? Sigh, that woman... I didn't like her either."

"Alright, let's just forget about her actions for now! I'm here to help you fight."

"Help?" Lumine remained wary.

"Exactly. I'm not a bad guy. Uh... well, maybe I am a bad guy, but I'm not here to cause trouble for you."

"Could you please refrain from immediately thinking about 'taking me down'?"

Lumine lowered her stance. Although she still suspected Tartaglia, since he had put it so plainly, she couldn't confront him directly.

"Thank you for your understanding."

-

Order had been largely restored at Yujing Terrace, and the assembled onlookers were being asked to disperse.

As the crowd dispersed, their discussions centered on the Geo Archon's demise. Some even grew agitated, attempting to approach the Exuvia, only to be firmly stopped by the Millelith.

Keqing arrived at the scene, staring in stunned silence at the dragon body.

"How... is this possible?!"

After her initial panic, Mu Qingge cast a deep glance at the dragon body before leaving.

Ningguang, observing Mu Qingge's expression and knowing the extent of her fanatic devotion to the Geo Archon, grew worried. She couldn't help but warn her:

"Qingge, don't do anything foolish! Don't act rashly!"

Mu Qingge nodded lightly and quickly departed.

-

"It's not convenient to discuss the details here. As they say in Liyue, 'Walls have ears.' Let's go to Northland Bank first."

Tartaglia explained his position to Lumine and Paimon, and the three prepared to head to Northland Bank.

But just then, a dull metallic thud echoed as something heavy struck the ground. The trio turned toward the source of the sound.

Mu Qingge stood with a frosty expression, the Vortex clutched in her hand. She had just used it to strike the ground.

"I'm sorry, but none of you are leaving!"

Tartaglia's face registered shock, as if he hadn't expected Mu Qingge to appear. He stepped forward before Lumine and Paimon could speak, saying, "Um, Lady Mu, could there be some misunderstanding?"

Mu Qingge's gaze sharpened. "A misunderstanding?! How do you explain your assault on the Millelith? And why did they flee at that precise moment?"

"I never wanted to be your enemy, but now I must demand an explanation. Otherwise, I won't hold back this time!"

Tartaglia felt a headache coming on. Crossing this woman meant escaping would be far from simple.

"Lady Mu, you were present at the Rite of Descension. Surely you saw they had nothing to do with the Geo Archon! Rex Lapis is known as the War God—how could the likes of us possibly kill him?!"

Mu Qingge remained silent, her gaze fixed intently on Tartaglia.

Recognizing her expression, Tartaglia knew further words would be futile. A fight was inevitable. He couldn't afford to be captured; his plan had only just begun.

But this location...

-

In the live stream, comments flooded the screen:

[It's about to go down!]

[Wow, their first official meeting and they're already fighting?]

[She probably can't beat us and Childe, right?]

[Fight! Fight! Fight!]

"Hey, you—Mu Qingge, right? We're not bad guys! We just arrived from Mondstadt today, and Rola asked us to deliver this letter to you!"

Sensing the tense atmosphere, Paimon quickly flew forward to clarify their identity.

"Rola?"

As expected, hearing Rola's name, Mu Qingge's imposing aura immediately dissipated.

Tartaglia let out a sigh of relief. If a fight had broken out and the Traveler hadn't helped, he would have almost certainly been captured.

After sparring with Mu Qingge for so long, Tartaglia knew firsthand how formidable she was. If she were truly determined to capture him, he'd have no chance of escaping.

Lumine handed Mu Qingge the letter she had been carrying.

Mu Qingge opened it and meticulously read it on the spot.

In truth, she only glanced at it briefly. After all, she had written it herself and knew its contents by heart. But the act had to be maintained.

After finishing Rola's letter, Mu Qingge's expression softened.

"My apologies," she said. "But you fled first, naturally arousing suspicion."

Lumine scratched her head.

Perhaps their actions had indeed seemed too suspicious.

"Ha ha, misunderstanding cleared up, right?" Tartaglia said with a grin.

"This is between me and Lumine and the others, Tartaglia. I haven't settled the score with you for attacking the Millelith yet!"

"But I was just helping them out of a jam!" Tartaglia protested.

Mu Qingge ignored him. The guy had been spouting lies for days.

Besides, she still had a score to settle with him. She needed to dust off her Snezhnayan identity anyway.

As the Captain's adjutant, Angie had little to do now that the Captain hadn't gone to Natlan yet.

Recently, she'd taken a trip to Dragonspine in Mondstadt, then returned to Snezhnaya with La Signora. Now, she was on her way to Liyue.

As Tartaglia's younger sister, wasn't it natural for her to visit her brother in Liyue?

But Tartaglia was in for a rough time. He was about to get a serious beatdown.

Still, no matter—his sister would help him get his revenge later.

So, she decided to let him off the hook for now.

"Because I know Rola, I trust her judgment. You're not the murderers, and you have nothing to do with this case."

Hearing this, Lumine and Paimon brightened with relief. It meant they wouldn't have to scheme with Childe to clear their names.

Beside them, Tartaglia grew anxious, but before he could protest, Mu Qingge continued:

"Though I believe you, your actions at the Rite of Parting do raise suspicion. Moreover, with the Geo Archon's passing, the mastermind behind this is likely formidable. While I'm confident in my abilities, I still lack the strength to confront such an adversary alone. I must ask you to journey to Jueyun Karst and seek out the Adepti."

"Of course, as an adventurer, I understand the proper protocol. You will receive commensurate compensation for your services."

Lumine stared blankly.

How could they have been enemies just moments ago, and now she was being asked to find some Adepti?

She had been exhausted from their journey and hadn't even had a proper night's sleep in a comfortable bed yet.

Still, since Mu Qingge was the one asking, she reluctantly agreed.

After all, who could refuse such a beautiful and valiant general? And who could deny the request of Rola's dear friend?

"Since you're Rola's friend, you're my friend too," Mu Qingge said with a gentle nod. "There's no need to stand on ceremony."

Just as expected, Lumine and Paimon are still as kind-hearted as ever.
