Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Flashing Big Mouth Baby!

Mawile (Shiny)

Gender: Female

Type: Steel, Fairy (Hidden)

Ability: Sheer Force

Aptitude: Elite Four-level

Level: 15

Skills: Growl, Astonish, Baton Pass, Bite, Iron Head

Egg Moves: Sucker Punch, Thunder Blaze, Ice Blaze

As soon as Ethan spotted the adorable Mawile behind the rock, he approached her with a gentle smile, carefully offering food in his hand, not wanting to startle the little Pokémon. "Hey there, little one, hungry?"

Noticing that this human was different—offering her enticingly fragrant food instead of chasing her away—Mawile hesitated but quickly realized Ethan meant no harm. She took the food eagerly and began to eat heartily, clearly famished.

Mawile, with her two mouths, uses the large maw on the back of her head to crush rocks and consume unappetizing food when hungry, while the smaller mouth beneath her head looks adorably cute.

Mawile is known for her charm, using her cuteness to disarm opponents before swiftly biting with her large maw. Normally yellow-bodied with black features, this Mawile's distinct dark red features glinted with a dangerous allure.

Shiny Pokémon represent rarity for humans but are anomalies among Pokémon, often leading to rejection by their kind. No wonder such a talented Mawile was starving.

As Mawile filled her stomach, Ethan gently stroked her small head. Initially timid, she soon warmed to his touch, nudging his palm affectionately.

This Mawile is remarkable! Despite lacking an evolutionary line, her Steel and Fairy typing grants her two immunities and eight resistances, making her exceptionally strong. Even though the Fairy-type is dormant due to Xerneas, her type combination remains formidable.

The Steel-Fairy combination is prestigious, shared by a select few, including legendaries. Mawile's base stats may not be high, but Mega Evolution grants her Huge Power, doubling her physical attack to a theoretical base of 210—the highest in the Pokémon world.

Even Mewtwo X and Mega Heracross don't match this attack power, making Mawile a true champion for all. Care is needed against abilities that nullify hers, but with Mega Evolution, she becomes a physical powerhouse.

Mawile's Mega Evolution boosts her defenses significantly, and with moves like Taunt and Sucker Punch, she overcomes her speed weakness, becoming a top-tier physical attacker.

Despite having base stats under 500, Mega Mawile, Sableye, and Beedrill prove that stats aren't everything. Mawile's Elite Four-level potential and crucial Egg Moves make her truly exceptional.

Her hidden Ability, Sheer Force, pairs with a Life Orb to boost her power without the usual HP cost. Ethan never expected to find such a remarkable Pokémon; surely, none in Granite Cave could surpass her talent.

Once Mawile was comfortable with Ethan's touch, he offered her high-grade Steel-type Energy Cubes, which she ate happily, sensing their benefits.

When Mawile was satisfied, Ethan seized the moment to offer a black and gold Luxury Ball. "Would you like to be my partner? I'll train you to be the best Pokémon in the world."

Mawile nodded eagerly, using her small hand to open the Luxury Ball and enter it willingly. The ball didn't even shake before confirming the capture.

Ethan, ecstatic, raised the Luxury Ball and shouted triumphantly, "Pokémon, get daze!" But with no echo from anyone around, he felt a bit foolish, drawing curious stares from nearby Pokémon.

Some Pokémon exchanged glances, questioning Ethan's odd behavior, but they couldn't deny the delicious food he'd brought.

Awkwardly, Ethan released Mawile, and as she looked up at him curiously, he stroked her head again. "How do you like the Luxury Ball?"

Luxury Balls increase Pokémon friendship quickly and are designed for comfort, making them ideal for nurturing Pokémon.

"Maw~" Mawile cooed, finding the Luxury Ball surprisingly comfortable for her first capture experience.

Reassured that Mawile was comfortable, Ethan recalled her into the Luxury Ball, clipped it to his belt, and turned to the group of Pokémon still feasting.

"Anyone here come across any beautiful stones or special ores? I can trade more food and these high-grade Energy Cubes for them."

With that offer, some Pokémon dashed off to their lairs, hoping to trade treasures for more treats. Soon, they returned with colorful stones.

Most were ordinary, but a few contained Evolutionite fragments and precious raw gems. Evolutionite fragments could be ground into supplements and were in demand at League stores.

A Geodude even brought an Everstone, earning a high-grade Rock-type Energy Cube as a reward, which made it bounce happily.

Ethan, now better equipped with Mawile and resources, was ready to continue his adventure, feeling more confident about the journey ahead.
