Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The First Battle (Part 2)

"I'll kill you!"

At this moment, Venusaur's owner, the girl named Lily, suddenly roared in anger and, gritting her teeth, was about to charge at Jack. But in the next second, she was pulled back by the man named Alex.

"Sis, calm down. Quickly recall Venusaur into its Poké Ball and send it to the Pokémon Center for treatment."

His words woke Lily up. She quickly recalled Venusaur with a Poké Ball, then turned to leave.

"Hey, hey, hey! What do you mean? You lost and now you're trying to run away, right?!"

Jack saw someone trying to run and couldn't tolerate it, so he quickly called out.

"If you dare to run, I'll beat your two companions half to death, believe it or not."

Jack, in his middle-aged man form, did not look like an easy-going person at this moment. He had a fierce and menacing expression.

As soon as the threat was uttered, Lily stopped in her tracks. Seeing this, Jack's fierce expression faded, and he said with a smile, "Of course, if you're willing to admit defeat on behalf of your companions and transfer the money to me in advance, I don't mind letting you leave."

The three looked at each other. They hesitated between admitting defeat and not admitting defeat.

"It's okay, don't be afraid, don't let him scare you."

Finally, Ethan, who held the leadership position among the three, spoke, "Alex's Charizard and my Croconaw are still here. We might not necessarily lose. Don't forget, that's just a Pidgey that hasn't evolved even once. It's not a legendary Pokémon. It's impossible for it to use Hyper Beam as casually as a minor move."

"No matter how high its talent or how good its comprehension, there should be limitations from its species. Using it twice is already exaggerated. I really can't imagine it having the energy to use it a third time. Even if a miracle happens and it uses it a third time, the power should be much weaker than before. If it encounters Charizard's Flamethrower, it will definitely be directly roasted into a dead bird."

Although he said that, Alex and Lily, the siblings, still saw the cold sweat on Ethan's face, but they didn't refuse. They also didn't want to fight 3 against 1 and end up not even being able to defeat a Pidgey.

The battle continued.

"Croconaw, retreat! Let Charizard take over the battle."

Ethan ordered, commanding the Croconaw, which had recovered from its provocation, to move to an auxiliary attacking position. Facing the flying-type Pidgey, its attacks would be difficult to hit, so letting Charizard and Pidgey confront each other head-on was the wise choice.

"Charizard, charge! Get close to Pidgey and use Wing Attack."

After becoming the main attacker, Charizard's owner, Alex, began to give orders.

Charizard roared, spread its broad and hard wings, and soared through the sky, rushing towards Pidgey.

Seeing this, Jack's mouth curved upwards: "Pidgey, Steel Wing!"

"Pidgey ~"

Pidgey spread its wings, and its slender wings instantly became as hard as steel, reflecting the sunlight. Pidgey fearlessly charged towards Charizard.

A crisp crashing sound rang out as its wings collided with Charizard's. Pidgey did not fall behind in the slightest.

The onlookers once again couldn't sit still.

"Steel Wing! It can even use Steel Wing!"

"My goodness, is this really a Pidgey or not? It's completely challenging my understanding of Pokémon."

"I don't care, my next Pokémon will definitely be a Pidgey."

As for the three opponents, they swallowed hard, completely at a loss for words. A Pidgey, only slightly larger than a sparrow, could actually collide with a Charizard weighing almost two hundred kilograms, and not fall behind in the slightest.

Come on, tell me, how are they supposed to fight now?

"Charizard, Smokescreen."

Alex, who no longer knew how to win, began to give random commands, hoping to confuse Pidgey's vision with smoke before attacking.

Charizard roared, and in the next collision with Pidgey's wings, it exhaled thick black smoke from its mouth.

"Idiot."

Seeing this scene, Jack couldn't help but sneer. How much use could such a vision-confusing move be for a flying-type Pokémon?

Instead, it was giving him an opportunity to end the battle.

"Pidgey, Tactic No. 1."

"Tactic No. 1?"

The trio's hearts tightened. This deliberately mysterious name inexplicably made them feel very uneasy.

"Charizard, get away from the smoke, prepare Flamethrower." Alex quickly ordered.

Charizard moved away as instructed, and flames began to gather in its mouth.

And in the next second, three Pidgey rushed out of the thick smoke, each condensing Hyper Beam energy in its mouth, charging towards Charizard.

Everyone's eyes were once again bewildered. However, some reacted quickly and immediately said, "It's Double Team. Two of them are fakes."

Alex heard this and quickly ordered: "Charizard, Flamethrower, spray all three!"

Charizard, hearing this, suddenly spat out the flames it had already prepared in its mouth. It sprayed towards the three Pidgey.

The closest one was instantly dispelled by the spray. Immediately after, the second one was dispelled.

If that's the case, then the real one can only be the last one.

Seeing this, Alex quickly said again: "Charizard, all flames, spray at that last one."

Charizard then condensed all its internal power into this final spray of Flamethrower. With a whoosh, that last one also dispersed.

Fake! It was still a fake.

The three of them felt a sudden knot in their hearts.

And at this moment, from within the thick smoke, a violent noise suddenly erupted, and a black beam of light shot out, directly hitting the Charizard, which had already run out of fire.

Charizard was sent flying dozens of meters, smashing several large trees before collapsing to the ground, losing its ability to battle.

Afterward, under everyone's gaze, Pidgey flew out of the thick smoke like a war god. Its sharp gaze fixed on the only remaining Croconaw.

That Croconaw also looked at Pidgey, but this time it no longer had that ferocious expression from before. Instead, it looked at Pidgey with fear.

All the big brothers were taken down by this dead bird, it was extremely panicked.

Soon, this Croconaw suddenly turned and ran, hiding behind its owner. It had lost its will to fight.

Jack shouted: "Are you still fighting?"

The trio gritted their teeth and looked at Jack. Asking the obvious. Their last Pokémon, Croconaw, had been traumatized. How were they supposed to fight?

Seeing their expressions, Jack walked towards them triumphantly.

At this moment, Mew also flew back to his shoulder and communicated with telepathy.

"Master, how was my tactical execution?"

Jack lovingly stroked its head. "Excellent, very excellent. Tactic No. 1 was executed perfectly."

Tactic No. 1 was actually something he and Mew had planned while the other three were discussing whether to continue the battle, to use the same method he used to defeat Venusaur at the right moment.
