Chapter 16 - Chapter 15: Thrown Out of Yujin City

Seeing the embarrassing look on the Celestial Blade Sect Leader and the others, Ye Zhiqiu's face shifted slightly, staring straight at Han Yu with surprise.

"Is this caused by the pill?"

Han Yu touched his nose and smiled awkwardly, remaining silent.

Ye Zhiqiu waved his hand, intending to take advantage of the trio's inability to resist and capture them all at once.

"It's better not now, wait until the dispersing fog has completely dissipated."

Han Yu quickly stopped him.

"If the fog can't be touched, then..."

Ye Zhiqiu's face turned ugly. Looking out, the thick fog he blew away with the wind covered at least half the city. He couldn't imagine what the scene would look like then.

Perhaps half the city's people would wake up singing and dancing.

Or maybe after daybreak, half the city's people would be silly, only able to giggle.

The more he thought about it, the more frightening it became. Ye Zhiqiu couldn't help giving Han Yu a fierce glare and said harshly, "Why would you create such a scary pill?"

Han Yu smiled bitterly, thinking to himself that he didn't make it! It was my Glazed Bottle that spat it out like a big lump of phlegm.

He never expected that lighting a single pill would create such a ridiculously thick fog that could envelop half the city.

All he could say was that the pills produced by the Glazed Bottle should never be judged by conventional logic.

The group dumbly stood there till dawn, and by the time it was slightly light, there was no longer any sign of the thick fog.

They stood there all night while the three from the Celestial Blade Sect Leader rolled around, celebrating madly all night.

Even now, there was no sign of them stopping, and the palace guards easily took the three away.

"How long will they continue?"

Ye Zhiqiu suddenly asked.

Han Yu answered softly, "One year."

Ye Zhiqiu's face immediately turned as black as the bottom of a pot. He gritted his teeth and asked again, "Is there an antidote?"

Han Yu shook his head and sighed, "No."

"Hmph!"

Ye Zhiqiu snorted coldly, swept his sleeves, and left. A few meters away, his cold voice carried over, "You are not to leave here until the safety of Yujin Prefecture's populace is confirmed."

Helplessly, Han Yu could only let the palace guards push him into the Yujin Government Office.

By noon, the scattered palace guards throughout the city had gathered information and handed it to Ye Zhiqiu.

Those citizens shrouded by the thick fog mainly exhibited excessive laughter, were overly optimistic, and when emotional, tended to dance. Although doctors were still going house to house for diagnoses, there was no toxicity evident in the data so far.

Ye Zhiqiu's expression improved slightly as he looked through the detailed records in his hand.

If that's the case, the situation of half the city being paralyzed won't occur, only a headache for one year...

Thinking this, he indeed felt a headache coming on.

This little pharmacist is indeed a scourge. I knew Old Ghost Lin couldn't be that kind-hearted.

The Celestial Blade Sect Leader and his group are still rolling and frolicking in the dungeon, truly terrifying.

"Are you heading south?"

Han Yu asked Yi Xian and Coconut curiously.

Yi Xian nodded and replied seriously, "Coconut and I agreed to travel south together."

That's a bit awkward. He had come up from Quantai Prefecture, heading north, so their routes were entirely opposite.

Returning to Quantai Prefecture was not an option. Who knows if the Star Sect over there still holds a grudge against him.

Upon hearing Han Yu say he was heading north, Yi Xian smiled and said, "That's fine. You might even meet some of our own people up north, and you can all catch up."

"Up in Qingzhou Prefecture, at the entrance of North Alley, opposite the crooked-neck tree, you'll know once you're there."

Han Yu felt a bit speechless upon hearing this. It didn't sound like a place where a sect would set up; it seemed more like a country household yard.

"Accompanying you for thousands of miles, we must part, but we shall meet again soon up north."

After exchanging fist salutes, Yi Xian led Coconut away.

Han Yu watched them walk away into the distance.

"Are you done? If so, hurry up and get lost!"

Someone beside him finally voiced their impatience with a cold snort.

Han Yu glanced over awkwardly, scratching his head, and said, "Lord Ye, you're personally seeing me off; how could I possibly feel comfortable?"

Ye Zhiqiu's chest rose and fell, seemingly quite angry, and he said, "I can't trust you unless I see you leave with my own eyes."

"But you don't need to be so polite as to have me carried away!"

Han Yu looked at him from above, sighing.

At this moment, Han Yu was more than half a head taller than Ye Zhiqiu, yet he was being carried off by two palace guards, each holding a leg as if carrying a palanquin.

At that moment, a sorrowful suona sound emerged from within the city, intermittently breaking off. Then, a group carrying a coffin marched out, followed by a procession dressed in mourning clothes.

The funeral, which should have been a somber occasion, suddenly turned into a scene of laughter, with even the suona players struggling to suppress their laughter while playing with difficulty.

Seeing this, Ye Zhiqiu's suppressed anger flared up again, and his face darkened like water.

Perceiving this, Han Yu shrunk his head a bit.

What a mess. Yujin City is probably going to have a year of forced laughing funerals.

Shortly after the funeral procession left, a loud sound of gongs and drums and cheerful noises emerged from a distance.

It turned out to be a wedding procession from outside the city.

The procession was led by path clearers, with the groom sitting proudly on a fine horse in the midst, followed by an eight-person sedan chair. Behind it were many more people.

When the procession reached the city gate, it suddenly stopped for no apparent reason. Each person instinctively directed an odd gaze at Han Yu.

The atmosphere seemed a bit off.

The curtain of the bride's sedan suddenly opened, and an agile figure hopped out.

"Hit him."

The groom jumped off his horse, anger written across his face, and charged toward him.

The sedan carriers pulled out the wooden poles, and the muscular men waving the wedding placards...

Han Yu only saw a flash of red before his face froze instantly.

Are these also red units?

How can this be considered a red unit! He had always thought red units were animals, never imagining that wearing red garments counted too.

He hadn't even finished thinking about it when a crowd overwhelmed him, with the bride in red valiantly scratching and clawing at him.

The wooden rods used to carry the sedan bashed against his head.

The wedding placards fanned his face left and right.

The groom was left jumping anxiously outside the crowd, unable to get in.

The whole scene descended into turmoil, and it wasn't until Ye Zhiqiu called in a large group of palace guards that the crowd was finally separated.

Dragged into the city, the bride's mouth was full of curses, "Let me go, I'm going to beat him to death."

Once everyone was dragged into the city, calm returned, and the cheerful gongs and drums resounded again...

"Is this a side effect too?"

Ye Zhiqiu looked at Han Yu with a complicated expression, asking strangely.

Han Yu nodded bitterly, answered in a gruff voice, "Yes!"

Hiss!

Even the well-experienced Ye Zhiqiu couldn't help but draw a cold breath.

This strange ability was simply unheard of; a single pill could unreasonably incite a grudge among so many people, terrifying.

What's even scarier is that this little pharmacist used it on himself.

Get as far away as possible!

Keeping someone like this in Yujin Prefecture for a day means I won't sleep well for a day.

"Quickly throw this thing out."

Ye Zhiqiu waved dismissively at the palace guards, and the two guards, after gesturing, roughly threw Han Yu outside.

"Remember that face, and don't ever let him into this city again."

After speaking, Ye Zhiqiu hurriedly left, as if evading a plague god.

Han Yu lay on the ground, a bitter smile on his face.

In the end, it truly was an unexpected turn of events; he shouldn't have underestimated the deadly side effects of the Glazed Bottle.

At the city gate, government soldiers stood on guard, watching warily to prevent him from stepping back in.
