"Are you good?" Alaric asked Mylo, his tone filled with deep concern.
The boy had been so quiet throughout the ride and they were almost getting to the destination Mylo gave him.
"Yeah," Mylo doesn't lift his head from the window shield. He looked lost in his own thoughts. His gaze tracing through the city twinkling light as the car glided through the night.
He was tired.
"You know, you should go ahead and cry if you want. You might feel better."
"I don't want to cry anymore," Mylo's knuckles turned white as he clenched his fist on his lap.
He was tired of crying, he was tired of everything.
"You can't help what the heart feels, you can only guard it, Mylo," Alaric shares one of the greatest lessons he has learned in life.
"How come you are not like them? I mean Alpha Royce and Alpha Ryker… You don't seem to get along with Alpha Royce as well."
Alaric gives Mylo a quick tight smile, "I don't get along with Ryker as well, it's even worse with him."
