Chapter 279 - Chapter 279

One Kick Girl — Chapter 279

"The First Thing Without a Script"

The figure stepped out of the tear like it had always belonged there.

Reality disagreed.

The air around it twisted slightly, as if physics itself was trying to remember whether this thing was supposed to exist.

Shion's scanner made a sad electronic noise.

Then shut off again.

"…I give up," she muttered.

Raon squinted.

The newcomer looked human.

Mostly.

Tall.

Thin.

Dark coat.

Messy hair drifting in zero gravity that wasn't actually there.

And a smile.

Not a villain smile.

Not a friendly smile.

More like the smile of someone who had just found a very interesting glitch in a video game.

"Hi," the figure said.

Its voice echoed slightly, like multiple timelines tried to pronounce the same word at once.

Raon waved.

"Hi."

Shion stared at her.

"Please stop greeting unknown cosmic anomalies."

1. The First Unsure Introduction

The figure looked around the city.

The sky.

The open tear.

Then at Raon.

"Oh," it said thoughtfully.

"You're the one who broke it."

Raon pointed at herself.

"Probably."

Armored Raon stepped forward cautiously.

"You shouldn't exist."

The figure shrugged.

"Apparently I do."

Shion whispered to herself:

"Undefined entity. Undefined origin. Undefined physics. Fantastic."

2. Something New in the Multiverse

The figure looked genuinely curious.

Not threatening.

Not aggressive.

Just… exploring.

It tapped the air gently.

A ripple spread through the tear like water touched by a fingertip.

"Your universe removed the reset," it said.

Raon nodded.

"Yeah."

"That creates open narrative space."

Shion blinked.

"…Narrative?"

The figure tilted its head.

"You don't call it that?"

Armored Raon narrowed her eyes.

"Explain yourself."

The figure smiled again.

"I'm what happens when a story continues past its intended ending."

Everyone went quiet.

Even Continuum seemed to process that slowly.

3. The Name

Raon crossed her arms.

"So what are you?"

The figure thought for a moment.

"Honestly?"

"Yes."

"I'm not sure yet."

Shion sighed.

"That's comforting."

The figure snapped its fingers softly.

"Ah."

"I think the closest translation would be…"

It looked at Raon.

"…a possibility."

4. Continuum Understands

Continuum stepped closer.

"I persist."

The figure studied it with sudden interest.

"Oh."

"That explains a lot."

Shion looked between them nervously.

"…Why?"

The figure pointed at Continuum.

"You broke the rule of endings."

Then it pointed at Raon.

"And you chose not to finish the equation."

It spread its hands.

"So the universe produced me."

Raon blinked.

"…Like a side effect?"

"Exactly."

5. The Multiverse Watches Again

Far beyond the tear—

The janitor shadow pulsed once.

Still observing.

Still calculating.

But not interfering.

Because technically nothing illegal had happened yet.

Armored Raon whispered quietly:

"…This is worse."

Shion nodded slowly.

"Yes."

Raon looked confused.

"Why?"

Armored Raon answered bluntly.

"Because we're now improvising reality."

6. Improvisation

The figure laughed lightly.

"Improvisation is fun."

Shion glared at it.

"Improvisation destroys causality."

"Only if you're boring about it."

Raon grinned.

"I like this guy."

Shion pinched the bridge of her nose.

"That sentence guarantees disaster."

7. The First Test

The figure walked slowly around Raon.

Studying her like a scientist observing a very unusual animal.

"So you're the famous one."

Raon tilted her head.

"Famous?"

"In a lot of timelines, yes."

"For punching things?"

"Yes."

Raon nodded proudly.

"Nice."

The figure stopped in front of her.

"But this timeline did something unprecedented."

Raon waited.

"You stopped."

8. The Unwritten Future

The figure pointed up at the tear.

"You realize what that means, right?"

Shion answered immediately.

"Unbounded branching timelines."

Armored Raon added:

"Unpredictable escalation."

Continuum said calmly:

"Persistence."

Raon shrugged.

"…Adventure?"

The figure clapped once.

"Yes!"

Shion groaned.

"Please stop encouraging her."

9. A Small Demonstration

The figure lifted one finger.

Reality shimmered.

For a split second—

Three different versions of the city appeared at once.

One where the tear never opened.

One where the janitor reset everything.

And this one.

Where none of that happened.

Then the visions collapsed back into one world.

Raon whistled.

"Cool trick."

Shion looked horrified.

"You just manipulated timeline previews."

"Just testing."

Armored Raon whispered:

"…You're dangerous."

The figure smiled.

"Only if the story needs it."

10. Raon's Question

Raon leaned forward curiously.

"So what are you gonna do?"

The figure thought for a moment.

Then shrugged.

"Honestly?"

"Yes."

"I want to see what happens."

Shion whispered:

"That is the worst possible motivation for a cosmic entity."

The figure pointed at her.

"Correction."

It looked back at Raon.

"I'm not an entity yet."

11. The First Name

Raon scratched her cheek.

"Well, we can't just call you 'possibility.'"

"Why not?"

"Too long."

The figure laughed.

"Fair."

Raon thought hard for a moment.

Then snapped her fingers.

"I got it."

Shion immediately looked worried.

"Please don't name reality."

Raon pointed proudly.

"Your name is Chance."

The figure paused.

Then smiled wider than before.

"…I like that."

Final Scene

Above them—

The tear remained open.

The janitor shadow continued watching.

And for the first time in cosmic history—

Four completely incompatible forces stood in the same timeline.

Raon — the one who ends things.

Continuum — the one who persists.

Shion — the one who understands.

Chance — the one who could become anything.

Chance looked at the sky thoughtfully.

"This story just got interesting."

Raon cracked her knuckles.

"Good."

Because somewhere beyond the tear—

Something else had noticed the same thing.

And unlike Chance—

It already knew exactly what it wanted to become.
