Chapter 52 - Chapter 51 - The City of Conspiracies

According to the show prepared by Cadmus and Rhaella, both the Queen herself and Daenerys had to improve their public image as much as possible. In this world, where the monarchy and nobility were held in high regard due to fear and reverence, the mere fact that such important figures were helping commoners was enough to make Rhaella and Daenerys appear like saints.

That was exactly what Cadmus did: Rhaella and Daenerys spent entire days helping people, giving food and blankets to the poorest in King's Landing. These people, who spent their days in poverty and misery, where many stole just for food, were extremely grateful, to say the least.

Coupled with the extraordinary beauty of mother and daughter, the images of both women became even more sacred and gentle in the eyes of the people. Humans were creatures who loved to see beautiful things. Everyone knew that the Dowager Queen and Princess Daenerys were helping the people, providing food and blankets.

"Eat slowly; no one is going to steal your food." Looking at the brother and sister before her, who were devouring the food desperately, Daenerys showed a look of pity and spoke in a warm, gentle tone.

At first, it was because of the conspiracy; however, the more she helped these people, the more she saw how hard their lives were. Especially children and teenagers without parental protection, they, in particular, lacked the skills to survive in society.

Without any skills or even opportunities, these children and teenagers had only one fate: to become thieves or live on the streets begging for alms. It was a vicious, cruel cycle that no child should ever have to go through.

The little girl, who was eating desperately, couldn't help but feel ashamed. She raised her head and looked at the angel before her with a gaze mixed with embarrassment, inferiority, and a touch of fear.

The boy beside her, who was obviously the older brother, also looked at Daenerys with the same feelings. Neither the boy nor the girl had ever seen such a beautiful person in their lives; they weren't happy to be talking to her, they only felt shame and fear.

Perhaps noticing that her mere presence caused them fear, Daenerys realized how cruel the status she took pride in could be. In the eyes of these children, she was likely considered a superior being they didn't even have the confidence to speak with. This only made her realize the massive status gap between nobles and commoners.

"Mother, these people are so pitiful; they treat us like gods…" Daenerys whispered to her mother, who was beside her. About a hundred soldiers in red armor protected the entire perimeter to maintain order.

The soldiers made the commoners gather in a double line while pushing away anyone who started to fight or argue.

Rhaella, who had just given two blankets to two beggars, looked at her daughter with a gentle gaze. She could see that Daenerys had matured a lot in these two days; the girl who before saw only the beauty of the world now realized that this was the real world, not the bubble she had always lived in, comfortable and ignorant of the dangers.

The Dowager Queen thought this was a very good lesson for Daenerys. The world wasn't just roses and love; it was cruel and cold, especially for those without noble status.

"We human beings are selfish creatures, Daenerys," Rhaella murmured to her daughter, looking at these people with a touch of pity, but with a calm gaze that made Daenerys feel a chill.

"Change means trouble, death, and danger," Rhaella continued. "That's why many nobles never want to change; they are comfortable as they are, so why would they help the commoners be better and threaten their own status?"

"Remember, Dany," Rhaella looked at Daenerys firmly. "Don't try to change anything without power, for it will do more harm than good."

Daenerys had to admit, her mother's words truly impacted her mind. The nobles didn't want the commoners to become more than they were born to be; the misery of these people only made the system more solid.

Generation after generation, for over eight thousand years, humanity had been stagnant in this unchanging and eternal wheel. For the first time in her life, Daenerys wanted to break this Wheel and make this society, stagnant in time, move forward once again.

This desire was like a small flame burning fiercely in her chest, threatening to burst out at any moment.

Cadmus, who was in the Red Keep, couldn't help but smile as he saw an almost invisible red aura appear in a part of the city. It was like a column of red mist slowly rising to the sky.

The fire inside Daenerys had been dormant for a reason; she hadn't really suffered a traumatic event or had the determination to light the flames within her. But at this moment, the first step had been taken.

The massive amount of fire magic within her began to awaken, and when it truly burned like an unquenchable flame, Daenerys would become a Fire Witch incomparable to all other fire mages in this world.

Honestly, Cadmus was full of curiosity about the Morgana he had chosen, would the woman be content with being just a princess? With power, people change; he himself was an example of that.

He hadn't even killed a chicken in his past life, let alone a human. In this world, he had already killed and had the blood of hundreds of humans on his hands. If he were on Earth, he would be an extremely famous and cruel serial killer.

The reason for the change was simple and quite logical. When you have power and lose the fear of punishment from the law, you realize that the world is quite simple. As they say, laws are a necessary leash for humanity to prosper, but when those laws disappear, humanity becomes a monster.

It was normal; humans were ugly and imperfect beings, and this flaw was what made them human. If humanity were perfect, they wouldn't be human, but angels without free will, living according to God's desires.

Did Cadmus find the change bad? No! He loved changing the world; breaking people's concepts of the world was something he greatly appreciated. Otherwise, life wouldn't be so interesting.

"Since the change has begun, let's start the show," Cadmus murmured as he looked at the three women before him. The women wore normal Septa clothing, a white tunic with the colorful seven-pointed star crest embroidered on the chest.

The women, who were under the influence of the Imperius Curse, nodded their heads while showing serene and tranquil smiles on their faces. Even though they were about to do something they had sworn never to do, the Imperius Curse simply didn't care.

Cadmus apparated the three women to the location where Rhaella and Daenerys were, while sending a message to the Dowager Queen and the Princess.

-

Daenerys and Rhaella heard Cadmus's voice in their ears and instinctively looked to the side, but saw nothing. Knowing that Cadmus was near and the conspiracy was about to begin, both women began to act with even more kindness.

Suddenly, three women wearing clerical clothing approached. The commoners saw nothing wrong with this; they simply assumed the Queen and Princess needed help again. After all, looking at the long line, it was quite normal for them to need assistance.

"Uh?" The little girl Daenerys had given food to looked at the Septas with a confused gaze, but soon saw that beneath their long, loose sleeves, the tip of a bolt could be seen. Although she was young, she knew about weapons and the danger they represented.

Seeing the Septa walking toward the two beautiful women who had helped them over these two days, the girl couldn't help but panic and pointed frantically to her older brother. The boy followed the direction his sister was pointing and saw the same thing.

Without any hesitation, the boy ran toward Rhaella and Daenerys, but instead of colliding with the assassin, he looked at the Kingsguard Knight wearing gleaming white armor and shouted at the top of his lungs.

"They're carrying crossbows!!!" The teenager's sharp cry made the world stop for a moment before chaos truly erupted.

"Die, you incestuous freak!!!" Knowing she had been discovered, the woman screamed loudly and pointed the crossbow toward Daenerys, not hesitating to pull the trigger, firing the bolt!

The other two women were slower and drew their own crossbows.

Gerold, who was already on alert when the boy shouted, used his sword to deflect the assassin's bolt and charged forward like a furious bull.

"ASSASSINS! PROTECT THE DOWAGER QUEEN AND THE PRINCESS!!!" he shouted at the top of his lungs!
